From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master said, ”By leveraging their innate mastery of the Fire Element Law, the Fire Nether Divine Beast race spent an immense amount of time creating Fire Spirit Pearls!”

”These Fire Spirit Pearls contain four great profundities, along with some of the insights and experiences left behind by powerful Fire Nether Divine Beasts during the creation process. Any genius who comprehends the Fire Element Law will find their progress greatly accelerated upon obtaining one.”

”Fire Spirit Pearls?”

As Li Yang listened, a thought struck him. He suddenly asked, ”Teacher, did you say that the progress of *any* genius who comprehends the Fire Element Law will be greatly accelerated?”

”Yes, absolutely any of them!”

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master nodded. ”That includes the Fire Nether Divine Beasts themselves! If a young, undeveloped Fire Nether Divine Beast is granted a Fire Spirit Pearl, the time it takes for them to mature into a Deity will also be significantly reduced. And even for the Fire Nether Divine Beast race, it can take them over a hundred million years to create a single one.”

’Over a hundred million years for a single one?’ Li Yang was shaken.

’To take that long to create just one... a Fire Spirit Pearl must be an incredibly precious treasure.’

Hearing this, Li Yang already understood what the Blade Slaughter Sect Master was getting at. He asked expectantly, ”Teacher, do you have a Fire Spirit Pearl?”

’Even though I have a Fire Nether Divine Beast clone, these pearls are hugely beneficial even to young Fire Nether Divine Beasts. Of course I want one.’

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master shook his head. ”No. If I had one, I would have given it to you long ago. And Fire Spirit Pearls aren’t available for exchange within the Saint Hall, either.”

’With my powerful Talent for the Fire Element Law, he wouldn’t hesitate to give me such a treasure if he had one.’

”I don’t have one, but you can get one for yourself.”

”Get one for myself?” Li Yang looked at the Blade Slaughter Sect Master, his eyes filled with anticipation.

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master continued, ”Li Yang, you know about the Fire Nether Divine Beasts and that they are born as Deities. You should also know that their race is not very powerful, right?”

”I do.” Li Yang nodded.

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master sighed. ”The Fire Nether Divine Beasts are born as Deities, a very high level of life. However, they can only comprehend the Fire Element Law. A Deity who has mastered only one law is the weakest kind, and it’s fundamentally impossible for them to break through to the Emperor Level. On top of that, procreation for them is incredibly difficult, so their race has very few members.”

”Among the countless races in the Cosmos, the power of the Fire Nether Divine Beast race is far too weak. But since they are born as Deities, their high level of life attracted the interest of countless powerful races, who sought to capture and study them. Because of this, the Fire Nether Divine Beasts once suffered a great disaster and were nearly driven to extinction.”

Li Yang said nothing, listening quietly.

’I know some of what the Blade Slaughter Sect Master is talking about, but I had no idea the Fire Nether Divine Beasts were almost exterminated.’

’Still, being born as Deities while also being weak... that would definitely attract unwanted attention.’

”So, the Fire Nether Divine Beasts sought out our Human Race as a protector and pleaded for our aid. We agreed. Now, the Fire Nether Divine Beast headquarters is located within a pocket dimension in a remote territory sectioned off by our Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall.”

Li Yang was shocked to hear this.

’The Fire Nether Divine Beasts sought protection from the Human Race, and their entire race lives within the territory of the Eternal Saint Hall?’

”Haha, Li Yang, our Human Race’s Eternal Saint Hall is enormous, about the size of a Star Continent. Sectioning off a remote corner for the Fire Nether Divine Beast race to live in is no big deal.”

’How big is a Star Continent?’

’And for a race as small as the Fire Nether Divine Beasts, the amount of space they need is probably negligible by comparison.’

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master smiled. ”Of course, in exchange for our protection, they need to provide compensation. The Fire Spirit Pearls are one form of payment. However, the Human Race has so many factions and countless powerful experts that there are never enough Fire Spirit Pearls to go around. They’re typically claimed by a powerful expert almost as soon as they become available.”

Li Yang nodded. ’The Fire Nether Divine Beast race takes over a hundred million years to make just one. Even if they gave all of them to the Human Race, countless geniuses specializing in the Fire Element Law would emerge in that same time span, some taken as disciples by Emperors, others by powerful Deities. The moment a Fire Spirit Pearl becomes available, one of those Emperors would probably claim it for their own disciple. It makes sense that there are never any available for exchange in the Eternal Saint Hall.’

”Teacher, how can I get one then?” Li Yang asked.

’If they can’t be exchanged and the Blade Slaughter Sect Master doesn’t have one, how am I supposed to get one?’

At this, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master finally stopped being cryptic and laid everything out.

”While the Fire Nether Divine Beast race relies on the Human Race, they also make a point of befriending our peerless geniuses. They’re willing to offer them benefits so that when those geniuses mature, they’ll naturally harbor more goodwill toward their race.”

The Blade Slaughter Sect Master smiled. ”Li Yang, you’ve only been in the Eternal Saint Hall for ten years, yet you’ve already passed the seventh step of the Path of Deities with ease. A Talent like yours only appears once every few billion years. The Fire Nether Divine Beast race would absolutely be delighted to form a connection with you.”

”All you have to do is go to the Fire Nether Divine Beast race and pay them a visit, and they will give you a Fire Spirit Pearl.”

Li Yang was taken aback. ’So according to the Sect Master, I’m just supposed to go to the Fire Nether Divine Beasts and ask for one?’

Seeing Li Yang’s expression, the Blade Slaughter Sect Master laughed heartily. ”Li Yang, there’s no need to feel awkward. The higher-ups of the Fire Nether Divine Beast race are desperate for our peerless geniuses to visit them. It gives them a chance to form connections. They aren’t allowed to proactively seek out our geniuses; they have to stay within that world they’ve created.”

The Fire Nether Divine Beasts were absolutely eager to form connections with peerless geniuses and offer them a Fire Spirit Pearl.

”What you’re giving in return is a favor owed.”

The Fire Nether Divine Beasts’ greatest hope is that the genius who receives the Fire Spirit Pearl will one day become powerful. At that point, the favor owed to them will be incredibly precious, its value far surpassing that of the pearl.

”Moreover, I’ve already specifically contacted a powerful expert from the Fire Nether Divine Beast race and told him about this, and he agreed immediately. So, Li Yang, all you have to do is make the trip and state that you’re willing to owe them this favor,” the Blade Slaughter Sect Master said with a smile.

If Li Yang went and the Fire Nether Divine Beast race didn’t give him a Fire Spirit Pearl, he would probably die of embarrassment.

But the Sect Master had already taken care of everything.

Hearing this, Li Yang’s eyes lit up. ”Thank you, Teacher.”

’The Blade Slaughter Sect Master has clearly arranged everything. All I need to do is go there myself.’

”Haha, it’s a small matter. You passed the seventh step of the Path of Deities in just ten years—that brings me, your teacher, great honor. Broaching this subject with the Fire Nether Divine Beast race was an easy task.”

If Li Yang’s Talent wasn’t good enough, and the Blade Slaughter Sect Master went to the Fire Nether Divine Beast race to ask for a Fire Spirit Pearl, he probably would have found it difficult to even bring up the subject.

But with Li Yang’s Talent being so strong, the Fire Nether Divine Beast race was probably hoping he would ask.
