Family Rise by Daily Intelligence

Chapter 363: Chapter 198: Flesh Refining Realm, Joyous Events, Family Planning

Yunshan County’s fiefdom.

After finishing the miscellaneous affairs, Brother Fan calculated with a pinch of fingers. The day after tomorrow would be the one-month celebration for the fourth and fifth younger brothers. Since nothing was done for the third-day celebration, the one-month celebration likely required some arrangement. So, he personally went to Muso Garden to seek advice from Meizhen:

”Mother, what standards should we use to organize the one-month celebration for the fourth and fifth brothers?”

Liuu Meizhen was studying Fu Changsheng’s new Nourishing Essence Pill recipe, occasionally making notes on the jade scroll. She replied without raising her head:

”Your father is still in seclusion, and your sister and Grandmaster Yu are busy preparing to upgrade the Spirit Vein. Everyone is extremely busy. There’s no need to organize the one-month celebration extravagantly. If your second brother returns from the Ten Thousand Mountains, the family can simply share a meal together.”

After all, the two younger brothers are the sons of the Clan Leader.

It’s quite unreasonable to gloss over the one-month celebration like this, even impoverished mortal families would borrow grain to invite the villagers for a meal on such an occasion.

Brother Fan wanted to persuade further, but Liuu Meizhen waved her hand at that moment:

”You should go about your own business.”

”Yes, Mother.”

Brother Fan had to swallow his words.

Arriving at the adjacent nursery, the wet nurses were changing the diapers of the two infants. Upon seeing Brother Fan enter, they hurriedly moved to pay respects, but Brother Fan stopped them with a raised hand and couldn’t help but ask:

”Does Mother visit the nursery often? Please answer truthfully.”

Upon hearing this, the two wet nurses quickly lowered their heads.

In a low voice, they said:

”Young Clan Leader, since the Lady of the House returned to the mountain, she has not.....”

The rest of their words were almost inaudible.

Brother Fan frowned deeply, recalling how the wet nurses had mentioned that, when the three siblings were born, their mother personally breastfed them, kept them close by the bed day and night, waking up several times during the night for fear they would be cold or hungry. How could she be so indifferent to the fourth and fifth brothers?

Brother Fan was full of doubts.

On the day of the one-month celebration.

Because Brother Rong and Ouyang Fei had not yet returned from the Ten Thousand Mountains, Liuu Meizhen even canceled the family feast.

It was meant to be a joyous day, yet the Fu Family was cold and desolate.

Entrance of Luofeng Mountain.

Cao Clan Leader and Hee Clan Leader arrived together, puzzled to see the deserted Fu Family entrance. Cao Clan Leader said, ”Younger Brother Hee, are you sure today is the one-month celebration for the Fu Clan Leader’s two sons?”

Hee Clan Leader certainly wouldn’t get the date wrong.

After all, Liuu Meizhen gave birth to the twins at the World Suppression Bureau, which had been widely talked about in the Wanning Marketplace.

After the two stood still, the clan member guarding the gate within the Array recognized them immediately and sent a Communication Jade Talisman to Brother Fan while staying alert: ”What brings the two Clan Leaders here?”

...

In the mountain.

Brother Fan was puzzled upon receiving the report from the clan members that the Cao and Hee Clan Leaders had come for the one-month celebration. The Fu Family and the Cao and Hee Families had little interaction. Wondering what was going on, he, being only at the Late Stage of Qi Cultivation, certainly wasn’t fit to receive heads of Ninth-Grade Noble Families, so he ran up to the mountain peak to consult Liuu Meizhen:

”Mother, should we meet with the Cao and Hee Clan Leaders?”

”Since they came to offer congratulations, naturally we should meet them. Lead them to the council hall.”

Liuu Meizhen put down the jade scroll in her hands, showing little surprise on her face. She changed into formal attire, went to the council hall, brewed a pot of Five-pointed Tea, and sat down. As Cao and Hee Clan Leaders entered, a faint aroma of the tea filled the air.

Hee Clan Leader raised an eyebrow.

Liuu Meizhen was indeed skilled in alchemy; even an ordinary Spirit Tea like Five-pointed Tea could have such a refreshing fragrance when she brewed it.

After the three exchanged greetings and were seated.

Liuu Meizhen cast a technique onto the Array Hub of the council hall:

”Friends, my husband is in seclusion. If you have matters to discuss, I’m able to pass them on when he comes out.”

Cao Clan Leader and Hee Clan Leader glanced at each other.

They hadn’t seen the head of the house.

But it was said that Liuu Meizhen could speak for the Fu Family, so after some consideration, they began to speak:

”Madam Fu, the situation in the Ten Thousand Mountains, you and your family must be aware. As the Beast Tide approaches, the number of Demon Beasts appearing is increasing, with quite a few being Tier Two. When the tide erupts, we on the front line will inevitably bear the brunt.”

Cao Clan Leader glanced at Liuu Meizhen, seeing her unfazed demeanor.

He continued:

”Our Cao and Hee Families ancestors might have had misunderstandings with your Fu Family before, but as people pass away, let bygones be bygones. Our meaning is there’s no fundamental conflict of interest between our three families. Let’s reconcile, how about that? Then we can focus on resisting the Beast Tide; what do you say, Madam Fu?”

The proposal of reconciliation.

Liuu Meizhen took a sip of Five-pointed Tea:

”It’s wise to settle enmities rather than escalate them. I understand your intentions and will surely convey them to my husband when he emerges from seclusion.”

Her manner was impenetrable.

Knowing he had to offer a trump card, Hee Clan Leader smiled and said:

”Madam Fu, to show our sincerity, the Cao and Hee Families are willing to act as guarantors for the Yu Family in your fief, enabling them to advance to a Quasi-Ninth-Grade Noble Family.”

If the Yu Family failed to advance to Ninth Grade.

Both families would still bear substantial risks.

Therefore.

This acted as their ultimate offer of sincerity in seeking peace.

Upon hearing this, Liuu Meizhen finally smiled.

The atmosphere in the council hall became much more amicable, and the Hee and Cao Family members even offered gifts to the twins. However, as the Fu Family did not host a one-month celebration, they did not linger long.

After seeing the guests off.

Liuu Meizhen took out a Communication Jade Talisman, casting a technique into it, and said:
