Immortality begins with Becoming an Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 744: Chapter 307: Studying Every Family, Pill Fire Level Four_2

Upon hearing that Wang Yuan had offered his private collection of the Blood Flame Secret Art, Luo Chen was even more moved.

He couldn’t wait to open a book called “Triple Burn Burning Flame Mantra”, a first order Qi Refinement Technique.

His expression was unbelievably focused.

Wang Yuan didn’t disturb him. After setting down the cultivation technique, he quietly closed the door behind him and left.

For a moment.

The vacant secret chamber became extremely quiet, only the rustling sound of page turning could be heard.

…

“Humans harbour the three poisons of greed, anger and ignorance, also known as the three impurities or the three fires. By incinerating them, boundless strength can be obtained, transforming into blazing flames that purify the world…”

“That sounds too abstruse. In reality, it’s all about following the heart of courage and progress, absorbing the wandering Fire Line Spirit Qi from the outside world. That’s all.”

“This technique is of no use to me.”

Having put down “Triple Burn Burning Flame Mantra”, Luo Chen picked up another book, “Dark Prison Suppressing Flame Technique”.

This was also a first order one.

The primary subject is about absorbing Spirit Qi through sheer perseverance in a hot place.

This technique is somewhat similar to the calm and focused mind cultivation of the “Longevity Technique”.

But such profoundness was too superficial.

A few hours later.

Luo Chen shook his head and continued to flip through other books.

Time flowed continuously in this way.

One day.

Two days.

Unknowingly, half a month had passed by in a flash.

With the body of a cultivator after the Marrow Washing and Tendon Changing stages, one could sustain on morning dews, just enough to ward off hunger.

In addition, Luo Chen didn’t feel tired since he didn’t cultivate.

Occasionally, when breaking through a realm during a closed-door cultivation, this state of staying awake for a long period of time had happened several times before.

He had finished reading all the seven first order cultivation techniques.

He didn’t gain much, especially regarding solving his current difficulties, they weren’t very helpful.

The only achievement was probably making him familiar with all kinds of cultivation methods, techniques, and even battle experiences of the Fire Spirit Root cultivator.

This gain was beneficial.

Luo Chen felt that the next time he used the Fireball Technique, Flying Flame Fireflies, Fierce Sun Technique, and Mountain Collapse such fire type techniques, his methods would be three points more exquisite than before.

Except for all the first-order cultivation methods, he also looked at Blood Flame Secret Art which Wang Yuan had privately collected.

The effect was not much different from the Foundation Establishment True Flame.

It’s just that instead of bursting out Spirit Liquid, it is the instant outburst of Qi and Blood to form a strong energy.

The place to take from here is that the blood flame transformed by Qi and blood is more controllable than the Foundation Establishment True Flame.

After all, this is a self-harming method performed by taking the body’s original source, blood essence, as a primer.

If used during a battle or escape, it may have a miraculous effect.

Luo Chen learned it quickly.

It was another trump card.

After all, he had achieved the genuine Blood River Realm in body refinement, and held a massive amount of Qi and blood.

It’s always good to be prepared!

After studying Wang Yuan’s Blood Flame Secret Art, Luo Chen briefly checked those three secret techniques.

The Fire Series Spirit Plant Secret Technique was kind of amusing.

It was called the “Fire Scorched Wilderness Technique”, a second order technique.

Its primary use was to improve the grade of Spirit Field.

After having a look, Luo Chen decided it was of no use to him.

The Dao of Alchemy secret technique was the Play Flame Technique Luo Chen was already very skilled in.

He frequently used it when refining pills before, it could efficiently adjust the intensity of the fire.

As for the Tool Casting secret technique, Luo Chen had some difficulty in understanding it thoroughly.

“What does ‘Fire Fusion’ mean?”

“Does ‘Using fire to melt Qi, burn gold and smelt iron’ mean to catalyze fire to transform into a high-intensity method?”

Luo Chen copied an original copy of this secret technique named “Fire Fusion” on the spot, intending to take it back for thorough study.

Afterwards, he started reading those three Second Order fire series cultivation techniques.

“Ding Fire One Qi Technique” was from the Duan Family.

“Flaming Sun True Scripture”, was from Huo Hu’s relics, it was highly probable to be a core cultivation technique for inner door disciples of the Golden Core Great Sect Flame Alliance.

“Green Sun Mantra”, obtained from the battle of Gaoling Plains, belonged to a Qi Refinement Stage Rogue Cultivator.

Second order techniques were inevitably more profound and complex than first order techniques.

Luo Chen just had a quick skim through and knew that it would take a long time to study.

He didn’t hesitate too much and directly put the originals of all three techniques into his storage bag.

On leaving the secret room.

Wang Yuan was outside, copying Cultivation Technique Books with full concentration.

Luo Chen rubbed his eyes, feeling a bit tired.

“Did you solve your problem?” Wang Yuan stopped his work and asked with concern.

Luo Chen shook his head, “Not yet. But I feel like I’ve found the direction.”

The direction he spoke about originated from that Secret Tool Casting Technique “Fire Fusion”.

Wang Yuan heard that he had found his direction, so he stopped worrying and busied himself again.

Before Luo Chen left, he casually asked a question.

“Why don’t you ask the disciples from the Chuan Gong Hall to do these trivial matters? Isn’t this wasting your cultivation time?”

Without looking up, Wang Yuan replied, “It’s not a waste. While transcribing, I would record the content of these techniques in my mind. With regard to my path of Body Refinement, it has the effect of using one’s own missteps to polish one’s skills.”

An eidetic memory?

Luo Chen was taken aback; he had never heard of Wang Yuan possessing such a talent.

However, thinking carefully, Wang Yuan’s initial journey of Body Refinement was mostly self-taught.

Having such a talent seemed plausible.

Of course, after a cultivator has reached the Foundation Establishment stage, their Divine Soul Endowment greatly increases.

Even if they are not exactly eidetic, their memory far surpasses that of ordinary people.

This kind of talent only appears especially prominent at lower stages.

Not wanting to disturb Wang Yuan further, Luo Chen took leave after declaring he would take those techniques.

…

Returning to Tianlan Peak, Luo Chen first took a good sleep.

Getting up early in the morning the next day, he practised his techniques after a long interruption, watching as the progress bar slowly rose to [4/100]. The guilt that had built up from not cultivating for almost half a month finally dissipated quite a bit.

“In the future, I can research techniques, but I can’t ignore sleep or food, forgetting the most fundamental cultivation.”

Luo Chen exhaled a breath of turbid qi.

He went outside his immortal mansion, still under the Warm Sun Wood.

The tree shadow was lush and the spirit qi was gentle.

He opened the three Second Order Fire Series Techniques he had brought back and started to read slowly.

As the sun rose and the moon set, time unknowingly flowed like water again.

In the blink of an eye, another month had passed.

Luo Chen closed the bamboo slip recording the “Green Sun Mantra”.

He had already found the problem he was facing.

The Path of Pill Refinement is closely related to the Fire Line.

In the past, he had always ignored this.

Or one could say, his past self felt that he had almost no shortcomings in this aspect.

But now it appears, this field is broad and profound, as vast as the sea.

With his current level, he has barely just started.

If we have to divide levels, then on the Path of Pill Refinement, control of Pill Fire should be divided into four levels.

Control fire, Melt fire, Absorb fire, Transform fire.

This level does not come from these techniques or secret techniques.

Instead, Luo Chen combined the “Qingyuan Pill Explanation”, “Qinhua Pill Formula”, “Shang Hu Pill Formula” and other numerous insights on pill refinement and summarized them on his own.

He calls the final level Divine Soul Transform Fire, which is at the legendary level.

In the literature, it is only mentioned in passing.

With his current level, he cannot touch it at all.

But for the first three levels, he found corresponding methods in these techniques and secret techniques.

If the “Play Flame Technique” improves the manipulation of flames. This is controlling fire!

The Fire Fusion Secret Technique and ‘One Qi Link Flame’ in the “Ding Fire One Qi Technique” aim to improve the quality and power of flames in a perfect control situation. This is melting fire!

The “Flaming Sun True Scripture” and “Green Sun Mantra”, very explicitly suggest to incorporate the Sourceless Fire within the body, to form the Original Source True Fire.

After feverishly reading all kinds of Cultivation Technique Books and various discussions on pill refining.

Like Wang Yuan, Luo Chen rarely summarized his understanding.

Even, with his own insights, he divided into corresponding levels.

In this way, the road ahead became clear instantly.

When this result came out, Luo Chen suddenly understood Wang Yuan’s ascetic life of reading numerous books and creating his own cultivation method.

He was indeed tired.

But after getting results, he was also genuinely satisfied!

With Luo Chen’s current accumulation, he cannot create a cultivation method which can solve his current difficulties.

But with direction, he can use the methods of his predecessors to make up for his shortcomings and move forward step by step.

He is no longer like a headless fly!

“Now, I am clearly in the Completion Stage of the first phase, perfect control of fire!”

“What I need to do next is to melt fire, absorb fire.”

The former is not difficult.

Duan Feng is very good at it, the fire needed for Tool Casting is even higher than for Pill Refinement.

If he can do it, Luo Chen can do it too.

As for the Fire Fusion Secret Technique and ‘One Qi Link Flame’, he plans to practice only the Fire Fusion Secret Technique temporarily.

Not because ‘One Qi Link Flame’ is not good.

But if he encounters any confusion in the Fire Fusion Secret Technique, he can ask Duan Feng at any time, and it can save him from many detours.

The secret technique required for absorbing fire is also mentioned separately in the “Flaming Sun True Scripture” and “Green Sun Mantra”.

He plans to cultivate one of them when he has time to prepare for the future.

“Now, let’s start practicing the Fire Fusion Secret Technique!”

Luo Chen stood up and headed straight for the Pill Room.
