Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 1188: Chapter 1188: Provocation Again

But this did not prevent Shi Yanran from supporting Shi Yu.

Shi Yu, who was not as famous as Shi Yanran and did not have any backing, was already less renowned when she entered the circle while Shi Yanran had already gained national fame.

Their acquaintance was merely coincidental, but Shi Yanran recognized Shi Yu as a friend.

In fact, Shi Yanran had very few female artist friends; otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken the initiative to accompany Shi Yu to attend this dinner.

This event was a gathering post the closing of a movie that Shi Yu had participated in, and many media journalists were also invited, serving as a preliminary hype.

Under normal circumstances, Shi Yu’s schedule would have been packed afterward, and she would have begun taking on advertisements as well.

However, due to Ye Luo’s appearance, this dinner would be the last time Shi Yu appeared before the public.

The banquet was held tonight at the Fengtai Hotel.

Thus, Ye Luo was naturally invited by Shi Yu.

This night was rather ordinary, as Li Dongchen did not show up at all, and since everyone knew Shi Yu was associated with Li Dongchen, nobody dared to cause trouble.

To avoid trouble, in fact, Shi Yanran and Ye Luo didn’t actually attend; however, Ye Luo kept his attention on Shi Yu throughout.

It was only at this point that Ye Luo realized just how significant Shi Yu’s influence was.

Because it can be said that the majority of the people attending the banquet tonight carried a strange aura.

...

The next day, Ye Luo and Shi Yanran accompanied Shi Yu to the talent agency she was signed with.

”Shi Yu is here, come in, come in. Oh, our superstar, what brings you here today?”

A middle-aged man greeted Shi Yu enthusiastically; naturally, he noticed Shi Yanran and Ye Luo but knew the calibre of these two individuals, so he wisely chose to skip asking any questions.

”Director Lin, I have come to dissolve my contract,” Shi Yu told Director Lin directly.

Director Lin was stunned. They were not a major company, and Shi Yu was essentially their pillar. Yet now, Shi Yu was proposing to terminate her contract?

How could he accept this?

”Oh, Shi Yu, what do you mean by this? Is it because you are dissatisfied with the payment? I have been meaning to talk to you about this, the company has decided to double your salary and will continue to increase it.”

”No, Director Lin, you are mistaken, it’s not about the salary.”

Shi Yu naturally couldn’t divulge the real situation, as even she herself found it incredibly bizarre.

”If it’s not about the salary, then what? Could it be that you are planning to sign with another company? You must know, in our company, you are our mainstay; we prioritize you for any order. Look, here is a new script, I can assure you that if you act in this play, your popularity will skyrocket and you may even become a nation-wide first-rate star...”

”Director Lin, that is not my intention; in fact, after leaving here, I won’t be joining any other acting agency and will not take any more roles!”

”Shi Yu, isn’t that a bit too much? You must realize how hard the company worked to promote you, everyone in the company has been revolving around you for over a year, isn’t it too much to just say you’re quitting?”

Seeing Shi Yu’s determination, Director Lin’s expression soured and his mood became foul.

It was hardly easy to cultivate a pillar and now to have them leave suddenly was not something anyone could be pleased with.

Shi Yu looked somewhat embarrassed, but she didn’t know what else to say; after all, she knew well how much the company had invested in her.

But at that moment, Ye Luo walked over.

Ye Luo knew clearly that Shi Yu’s issues needed to be resolved. Seeing that almost everyone in the company carried a faint trace of Death Qi, if Shi Yu didn’t leave, it wouldn’t be long before the company would turn into a company of the deceased!

”Director Lin, if Shi Yu wants to terminate the contract, just terminate it. What’s with all the fuss?”

Director Lin was taken aback. This was a man he couldn’t afford to offend. Although he wasn’t fully aware of all that Ye Luo had done, even the few he did know of were shocking enough.

As Ye Luo suddenly spoke up, Director Lin didn’t dare to express anger; his eyes shifted and he immediately pulled out the contract.

”Mr. Ye, as you see, Shi Yu has a five-year contract with our company...”

However, before he had finished speaking, Ye Luo had already snatched the contract and casually ripped it apart!

Director Lin watched, stunned, as Ye Luo’s overbearing action unfolded. He had heard of Ye Luo’s domineering reputation, but he had not expected it to be this tyrannical.

Director Lin was burning with anger but dared not show it.

With his small acting agency, if he offended Ye Luo, he was well aware of the consequences.

”Boom!”

The door was suddenly violently opened, and at the same moment, a crowd of people burst in.

Director Lin saw, and who else could it be if not Liu Dongchen!

Liu Dongchen was a significant figure for their company; without his investment, they wouldn’t have had the funds to produce the current movie.

Most importantly, Director Lin knew that Liu Dongchen would never let Shi Yu leave.

So now, Director Lin breathed a sigh of relief. In his eyes, Liu Dongchen was the wealth titan of Tai Ping, surely he had a way to deal with Ye Luo!

”Kid, today, you’re dead!”

As Liu Dongchen barged in, his eyes immediately fixed on Ye Luo.

However, Ye Luo didn’t even glance at him, instead focusing on the two people behind him.

Two expressionless individuals, radiating with Death Qi!

”Two esteemed sirs, it’s him, this kid dared to oppose me. Just help me take him down, and whatever requests you have, I will fulfill them all,” Liu Dongchen said to the two people behind him.

Liu Dongchen had personally witnessed the formidable strength of these two and knew it to be truly horrifying!

However, in Ye Luo’s eyes, these two individuals were merely Semi-Saints, hardly worth mentioning.

It was simply the Death Qi on their bodies that had caught Ye Luo’s attention.

”Alright, remember your promise.”

The two men told Liu Dongchen and then emotionlessly moved towards Ye Luo.

Ye Luo frowned slightly. Both the tone of these men’s speech and their actions gave Ye Luo a feeling—they were like Zombies!

It was as if these two individuals were simply two corpses walking.

Though these were living people, Ye Luo just had that feeling.
