Wilderness Survival with Druid System

This feigned action before the attack, Chen Wen had seen way too many times before.

He spoke directly, interrupting the Tibetan Horse Bear’s fake action: ”Hey! Hungry?”

Hearing the voice, the Tibetan Horse Bear, who had been contemplating using deceit to approach Chen Wen, suddenly froze and looked at Chen Wen in disbelief.

Seeing the Tibetan Horse Bear completely taken aback, Chen Wen seized the opportunity and said, ”Bear, do you want meat? Big chunks of good meat, just say the word and I’ll bring it to you immediately!”

The Tibetan Horse Bear, upon hearing this, retreated a few steps.

It looked at Chen Wen in disbelief and said, ”What’s... meat?”

”It’s the food you ate earlier, obtained by killing other animals or found from animal carcasses.”

Chen Wen said this while taking out a piece of yak jerky he had made from his backpack, tossing it directly to the Tibetan Horse Bear.

The Tibetan Horse Bear lowered its head, brought its nose close to the yak jerky, and sniffed the scent.

Once it confirmed it was something it wanted to eat, the Tibetan Horse Bear did not hesitate, opening its mouth to eat.

It sat on the ground, tilting its head, vigorously chewing and tearing the yak jerky.

Before long, the Tibetan Horse Bear had devoured the entire yak jerky.

”Delicious!”

The Tibetan Horse Bear sat on the ground, intently staring at Chen Wen, seemingly asking if there was more.

Chen Wen, seeing through the Tibetan Horse Bear’s unabashed display of emotion, smiled and said, ”Yes, there’s quite a bit more meat! You can probably smell it in the air, right?”

The Tibetan Horse Bear nodded.

It was indeed attracted by the smell from this area.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and said, ”If you really want to eat, follow me, I’ll take you to the meat.”

Over there in the valley, there was still some Tibetan antelope meat piled up.

Chen Wen and Vikram certainly wouldn’t eat that meat, given that they weren’t sure how long it had been lying there and the thought of that place made them a bit queasy.

However, for the Tibetan Horse Bear, who had just gained intelligence, that meat was a top-tier buffet with no cost.

Therefore, Chen Wen planned to fill the Tibetan Horse Bear’s stomach with the meat there.

And attempt the next step of taming.

Upon hearing this, the Tibetan Horse Bear slowly stood up from the ground.

Chen Wen said again, ”But there’s a condition to taking you to the meat: you must not attack any animals you encounter, and you have to listen to me, deal?”

Hearing this, the Tibetan Horse Bear was a bit displeased.

It stated bluntly, ”Why should I listen to you? Look at you...”

As it spoke, the Tibetan Horse Bear tilted its head, examining Chen Wen, with a hint of disdain flashing in its black eyes. It felt that Chen Wen was not strong!

Apparently impulsive like a hippo, both were not ones to be easily convinced.

Chen Wen thought for a moment and said, ”How about this, let’s have a strength contest. If my strength is greater, you have to listen to me, how about that?”

This made the Tibetan Horse Bear laugh directly: ”Hahaha! Hahahahaha! Interesting, a strength contest with me! Alright! I agree!”

After saying that, the Tibetan Horse Bear stared intently at Chen Wen: ”How do we compete!”

Chen Wen said, ”Like this, you sit still. If I can lift you, I win. If you can lift yourself, then you win, how about that?”

Hearing this, the Tibetan Horse Bear tilted its head, thinking for several seconds.

Eventually, it felt this was quite fair, since both attempts involved lifting themselves, so the weight was the same.

The Tibetan Horse Bear said, ”Alright! Let’s go with that!”

With that, the Tibetan Horse Bear stood in place: ”Who goes first?”

Chen Wen did not hesitate, nor was he afraid, and he walked directly to the Tibetan Horse Bear’s side: ”Don’t move.”

As soon as he finished speaking, without waiting for the Tibetan Horse Bear’s response,

Chen Wen activated the entry [Giant Strength], coupled with the combat power bonus provided by [Leader of the Herd], his strength surged instantly.

The Tibetan Horse Bear’s weight wasn’t that heavy, only over three hundred kilograms, entirely within Chen Wen’s strength capability.

Therefore, the Tibetan Horse Bear only felt its body being enveloped by something akin to a steel clamp. In the next second, its body felt light, as if the entire bear was being held horizontally by Chen Wen.

So impressive!

This bipedal creature looks so small but is so strong!

I underestimated him!

Thud~

The Tibetan Horse Bear’s heavy rear end made contact with the ground again, bouncing a bit in the process.

Chen Wen released his grip, not even breaking a sweat, but his arms felt a bit sore.

Almost failed, this bear is heavier than I imagined, if it gets fatter it will easily weigh over four hundred kilograms!

A massive individual!

Chen Wen thought.

But he still calmly said, ”I’m done, your turn!”

Hearing this, the Tibetan Horse Bear nodded.

It now considered Chen Wen as a hunter on its level and didn’t say much more.

It began to attempt lifting itself.

But...

When the Tibetan Horse Bear tried to grab its hind legs with its front paws to lift itself, its center of gravity shifted, and it rolled into a ball on the ground.

”Hey?”

The Tibetan Horse Bear was dumbfounded; it didn’t expect that it couldn’t lift itself.

Already not very bright and somewhat impulsive, the Tibetan Horse Bear was instantly riled up — No! How can I lose to this skinny biped!

It put all its might into trying to lift itself again.

But aside from wasting energy, the ridiculous action had Chen Wen struggling to hold back laughter.

He managed to restrain himself, but the circling Golden Eagle burst out laughing, completely unrestrained, at this silly bear!

The previous gloom dissipated with the hearty laughter.

Seeing the Golden Eagle’s reaction, Chen Wen couldn’t help but squint happily.

It’s always good to be happy!

Moreover, Chen Wen now understood why bears become the stars of circuses.

Their round, clumsy appearance combined with some awkward and comical movements create a feeling of contrast that anyone would find hard to resist.

After several attempts,

The Tibetan Horse Bear with black lines running down its face stopped attempting to lift itself.

It realized there was an issue and looked seriously at Chen Wen: ”I have found the problem!”

Upon hearing this, Chen Wen felt a bit anxious; did he fail to deceive the bear?

But soon, the words of the Tibetan Horse Bear eased Chen Wen’s anxiety.

It said earnestly, ”I just haven’t eaten enough, if I were full, I could definitely lift myself!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen nodded in agreement: ”That’s right, I think you could do it! So, let’s go eat first?”

The Tibetan Horse Bear quickly agreed.

Chen Wen then added, ”Also, since you haven’t won yet, for now, you should listen to me, alright?”

Hearing this, the Tibetan Horse Bear, after a brief internal struggle, finally said, ”Fine! I’ll listen to you for now!”

For the sake of food!

The Tibetan Horse Bear thought.

Seeing this, Chen Wen activated the ability for Golden Eagle and the Tibetan Horse Bear to communicate, letting Golden Eagle lead the way to the valley.

Golden Eagle agreed to guide, finding this silly bear very interesting.

Once the communication ability was activated, they began chatting.

The Tibetan Horse Bear, also intrigued by the communicative Golden Eagle, started asking it questions.

The two animals chattered along the way, heading towards the valley.

...

Vikram’s stealthy valley.

He was there, with the snow leopard family and the horse herd, feeling very uneasy.

Although he didn’t think Chen Wen would be killed by the Tibetan Horse Bear, he still felt uneasy allowing Chen Wen to face it alone.

Just as Vikram was about to go out and assess the situation, Chen Wen approached.

Upon hearing footsteps, Vikram finally felt relieved.

He was just about to ask Chen Wen how things were, but Chen Wen said: ”Rest assured, the matter is settled, though there’s a little hazard, you continue leading the animals ahead; I’ll be there shortly!”

Without waiting for Vikram to respond, Chen Wen left the valley with Li Ma.
