The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1215: Chapter 456: The Stingy Dad Arrives (Part 14)

”How could this happen?”

He Zhuo was a bit dumbfounded.

The manuscript fees he had eagerly anticipated for a month weren’t even enough to repay the high-interest loan, let alone allow him to splurge!

The gap between reality and ideal made He Zhuo’s mindset crumble a bit.

”It’s impossible, the performance of my book is so good, even better than the original author’s performance in my original timeline—”

He Zhuo’s mind was in turmoil, filled with confusion and dissatisfaction.

”The original author at least earned enough to buy a house, but I can’t even repay a high-interest loan?”

It’s like He Zhuo had hit a dead end, filled with complaints and resentment.

He didn’t think that the original author could earn millions over several months or even a year, not in just one or two months.

As a newcomer, earning tens of thousands in the first month was already a rare achievement.

He Zhuo couldn’t see this, nor did he think about how, as a third-year university student, he spent tens of thousands in just a month.

He was completely consumed by the massive online debt!

Money!

He needed to repay the money!

But the money on hand was not enough, it could only cover a partial repayment!

He Zhuo was at a loss, and his sense of superiority and confidence as a transmigrator suffered a huge blow.

He frantically tried to find ways to quickly cover the gap in his online debt.

But, manuscript fees are paid monthly.

Last month’s payment had already been received and entirely used to pay off debts.

Yet, more than half of the debts remained, accruing interest every day.

He Zhuo—

”... how about I start another book?”

He Zhuo was so anxious that he nearly pulled his hair out, yet he still couldn’t think of a better solution.

Fortunately, since he had already launched an online novel, albeit with controversies, its performance was quite good.

The outcome of being infamous was that He Zhuo gained a certain amount of popularity value.

He Zhuo opened the ”system” interface, calculated carefully, and found that the popularity value in his personal account could be exchanged for a work regarded as a divine-level masterpiece in their real world.

”Great! This is it!”

This work had made the original author a legend with the fame of just one book.

For a legendary-level writer, making over ten million in a year was possible.

Compared to such an income, monthly high-interest loans of tens of thousands were nothing.

He Zhuo regained his confidence and quickly redeemed that work.

However, he learned from the lesson of the last book and didn’t directly copy and paste but started by reading the whole text.

Uh, a novel with five to six million words took him a week to read through.

Having finished reading, he began to modify the content that didn’t match this time-space.

Thus, another half month went by.

The only fortunate thing was that he didn’t need to use his hands to write but used his mind.

He even gave up modifying the last book, completely letting it go.

Every day, he spent just a few minutes using his mind to copy seven, eight, nine, or ten Chapters, uploading them all at once to the website.

While other writers updated nine thousand words daily, he directly updated twenty thousand words.

The readers enjoyed it thoroughly and even gave He Zhuo the nickname ”Tentacle Monster.”

But the editor, however, was a bit concerned and tactfully reminded him: ”How about controlling the pace a bit?”

Online literature follows a certain process; it’s not merely about meeting a word count.

Each stage has corresponding recommendation slots, and some major recommendations even require queuing.

You can’t just release hundreds of thousands of words at once and expect the editor to line up several recommendations in one go.

Of course, if the word count for He Zhuo’s book could exceed ten million, even with daily updates of twenty thousand, it could be written for one to two years.

The editor would not be in a hurry and could still arrange recommendations according to the process, one by one.

But... the editor roughly assessed the pacing of He Zhuo’s novel, over a million words, and it had reached a small climax.

According to the editor’s estimate, this novel could be completed in two to three million words.

If updated with nine thousand words daily, it would be possible to write for a year or so, which is a normal pace allowing for appropriate recommendations.

However, with daily updates of twenty thousand words, or even more, it could be finished in three to four months.

Many recommendations may not be arranged in time.

This would impact the promotion of the novel and ultimately affect its performance.

The editor endured repeatedly but still messaged He Zhuo: ”Even if you have a stockpile, don’t release it all at once!”

It’s not about authors playing hunger games in marketing, but adequately controlling the pace and extending the ”writing time” of the work is a common way to improve performance.
