The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 1167: Chapter 440: True Love’s Comparison Group (16)

Tian Huimin and He Yannian were keeping it a strict secret. When He Siyu arrived in Shanghai, she couldn’t find He Sitian.

However, Meng Hao used his connections to find out the festival venue, opening time, and the program list for the guest performances.

He even managed to get tickets for the music festival.

But to see He Sitian, they would have to wait for the festival to officially start, and they could only sit in the audience.

”...Dad and Mom are really angry! What should I do?”

During the two days waiting for the festival to open, He Siyu grew more and more anxious.

Tian Huimin wouldn’t answer her calls, and He Yannian, though he answered, spoke coldly, unaffected by her wheedling.

He Siyu finally felt the fear and unease of being abandoned.

She really didn’t mean it. When she found out she wasn’t a He Family child, and her real mother was in Country F, she just wanted to see her.

After going to Country F, the process of finding and reconnecting with her real mother didn’t go smoothly.

She was anxious and miserable every day, struggling with jet lag, adjusting to different food... she just didn’t contact her family.

But even so, in her heart, her parents were always her parents, her closest family.

How could they be angry, just, just distant because of this?

”Do they not want me anymore? I really didn’t mean to abandon them. I just wanted to know what kind of person my real mother is, is that wrong too?”

Arriving at the music festival, sitting in the audience, He Siyu was still confused and upset.

”...” Meng Hao, who was endlessly patient with He Siyu, found himself getting a bit annoyed with all the comforting words.

But, since it was a girl he liked, Meng Hao suppressed his impatience and still said, ”No, Siyu, you’re so kind and lovely, your parents definitely won’t abandon you!”

”Don’t overthink it. Let’s enjoy the show first. When we meet Uncle and Aunt, we’ll talk to them properly!”

Lian Cheng, sitting on the other side, though Meng Hao had arranged a not so good seat for him, was still trying hard to perform well in front of He Siyu.

He stretched his body, craned his neck, in a somewhat awkward posture, but still comforted gently: ”Siyu, even though you’re not Uncle and Aunt’s biological daughter, you should know how they’ve treated you over these years!”

”You are a family, and even without a blood relation, you are He family’s child, you’re He Siyu!”

Lian Cheng understood He Siyu best. Even with comforting words, he always hit the ”key point” that touched her.

Sure enough, hearing Lian Cheng’s words, a string in He Siyu’s heart was touched. She said with some surprise, ”Yes! We are family, I am He Siyu!”

It’s not like her parents didn’t know from the start that she wasn’t their biological daughter.

And over the past twenty years, if not for someone deliberately investigating, He Siyu had never doubted she was not born to the He family.

This showed just how much the He Family couple truly cherished her.

Although in the past, He Siyu always pitifully called herself the ugly duckling of the He Family, not as outstanding or ambitious as her sister.

But she knew very well in her heart; she wasn’t truly pitiable, she indeed wasn’t smart or pretty enough.

But her parents, especially her father, doted on her the most.

Even her mother, perhaps not as meticulous and tender as her father, but was more focused on, more tolerant of her.

Sometimes, when receiving her parents’ affection, she felt that even the sister she envied and felt jealous of seemed to envy her!

He Siyu wouldn’t say it aloud, but she felt secretly smug: He Sitian, so what if you’re so good? The daughter Mom and Dad love the most is me!

And now, after Lian Cheng’s reminder, He Siyu forgot about her parents’ distance, feeling a newfound confidence: He Sitian, so what if you’re the biological daughter? Mom and Dad favor me, the adoptee, more!

Realizing this, He Siyu seemed to have found a point to outdo and provoke He Sitian.

Her desire to compare herself with He Sitian was greatly satisfied.

”Indeed, you are He Siyu!”

Seeing the sparkle return to Siyu’s eyes, Lian Cheng felt satisfied.

And catching a glimpse of Meng Hao’s darkened expression, Lian Cheng felt even more smug—

You little rich kid, so what if you have money?

No one knows Siyu better than I do! The one Siyu loves is also me!

Meng Hao:...

He clenched his fists tightly, suppressing the anger within, not wanting to argue with Lian Cheng.

After all, the person Siyu relies on most now is him, not Lian Cheng!
