My Silly, Sweet Wife

In the courtyard, there stood two people.

It was actually Mai Gu and Su Tong.

At this moment, both of them were wearing long robes, with the words ”Shennong” written on the front of the robes.

Even more hilarious was the fact that both were wearing straw hats, looking like old farmers going up the mountain to collect herbs.

Seeing Ye Guichen come in, Su Tong stepped forward first: ”You finally came, come, come, sit down!”

Then, he warmly invited Ye Guichen to walk to the northern wall of the small courtyard.

There was a Taishi chair placed there.

Mai Gu also hurriedly stepped forward, and together with Su Tong, they pulled Ye Guichen to the side of the Taishi chair, urging him to sit down.

Ye Guichen looked completely bewildered: ”Master Su, Master Mai, what are you doing?”

At this moment, Linglong also came out in a wheelchair, eyes laughing, staring at Ye Guichen.

No one answered Ye Guichen.

After Ye Guichen sat down, Su Tong and Mai Gu stood three steps away from him, suddenly wanting to kneel on the ground.

This scared Ye Guichen out of his wits.

Almost at the same time they began to kneel, Ye Guichen had already dashed forward, holding up the two elders with his hands, nervously saying: ”Master Su, Master Mai, you want to crush me to death? Actually giving me the kneeling salute, if Master finds out, won’t he kill me for sure!”

Su Tong said solemnly: ”I have discussed with your Master Mai. You are the most suitable candidate for our Shennong Sect! Choosing an auspicious day is better than hitting it by chance. Originally, we wanted to pick a good day and hold a grand feast, to announce to everyone that our Shennong Sect is standing up again! But, we all know you’re busy every day. So, today, we simply hold the ceremony for establishing the Sect Leader.”

Mai Gu also chimed in: ”That’s right, since you are our Sect Leader of Shennong Sect, we all have to salute you from now on, it’s the rule, it can’t be broken!”

Saying this, the two of them tried to kneel again.

Ye Guichen had a headache.

These two old men are now on good terms, but why are they acting so outrageously?

”Please don’t, you mustn’t do this! Besides, if you say that, wouldn’t my Master have to kneel to me too? God, I’d rather be killed then.” Ye Guichen wouldn’t let go, holding up Su Tong and Mai Gu, making it impossible for them to kneel.

”Moreover, I haven’t agreed to be the Sect Leader of Shennong Sect! I like a carefree life, not wanting to be entangled with these things. You two elders are still strong and healthy, just pick one to be the Sect Leader!”

Ye Guichen said with a grin, letting go and quickly dodging, bypassing them and walking to Linglong.

Linglong covered her mouth, laughing: ”Senior Brother Ye, Grandpa Su and Grandpa Mai have been scheming so long to make you the Sect Leader. Hehe, ever since Qinghe returned, the two grandfathers have been mumbling about it every day, even not sleeping at night. Today you finally came, but you refuse to be the Sect Leader, they surely won’t be able to sleep even more.”

”Yes, Sect Leader, please be the Sect Leader of Shennong Sect!” Su Tong nearly pleaded.

Mai Gu’s eyes twinkled: ”Exactly, as long as you become the Sect Leader, you can command all the resources of Shennong Sect, and you don’t have to handle anything personally, just give orders to let others do the work.”

Ye Guichen rolled his eyes: ”Please, Master Mai, ask yourself, does Shennong Sect have any resources now?”

Mai Gu was speechless immediately, extremely embarrassed.

There were only a few people in Shennong Sect now, where were the resources?

Mai Gu had quite a bit of assets, but they belonged to the Mai Family, not Shennong Sect.

”Ahem, well...” Mai Gu’s beard twitched a few times, at a loss for words.

Su Tong glared fiercely at Mai Gu: ”Old Mai, you’re still the president of some useless association, and you can’t even talk! Who says our Shennong Sect has no resources? As long as we have talented people, we have resources. Including Senior Brother, which one of us is not a divine doctor? Especially the younger generation, like Ye and that girl Linglong, they are people others need to look up to.”

Mai Gu was annoyed at Su Tong saying he couldn’t talk, ready to retort, but hearing what Su Tong said, he quickly agreed: ”Yes, yes, Ye, your Master Su might be a bit stubborn, but his words make sense. Talents are the most important. Of course, if you agree, I will split my assets, taking out my share to restart Shennong Sect.”

”I agree!” Su Tong squinted his eyes: ”Your Master Mai has accumulated quite a lot of wealth in Qinghe over the years, this must be a considerable sum!”

”Hmph, have you been eyeing my assets for a long time?” Mai Gu’s face turned pale, glaring at Su Tong.

Su Tong turned his head, ignoring Mai Gu, looking eagerly at Ye Guichen: ”Ye, don’t miss this great opportunity!”

The two old men buttered Ye Guichen up endlessly.

Linglong couldn’t help but laugh: ”Giggle, Senior Brother, you better agree, if you don’t, I guarantee the two grandfathers will annoy you to death.”

Ye Guichen deeply felt this.

These two old men were tougher than flies.

If this continued, he might really be harassed every day.

”Well, if you really want me to be the Sect Leader, I can agree.” Ye Guichen considered, reluctantly giving in.

The two old men beamed with joy: ”Good, good, quick, salute!”

They were about to kneel again.

Ye Guichen hurriedly stopped them: ”Saluting is unnecessary, but if you really want me to be the Sect Leader, all future rules must follow my decisions.”

Su Tong and Mai Gu exchanged glances, nodded: ”Agreed, of course we will follow the Sect Leader.”

”Alright, first rule, although I am Sect Leader, I am still your junior, no more kneeling salutes...”

”No, no!”

”Our Shennong Sect highly values respect for teachers and the Dao, this is undisputable...”

The two old men shook their heads vehemently.

Ye Guichen shrugged: ”Oh, then I won’t be the Sect Leader.”

With one sentence, the two old men were instantly deflated.

”Alright, alright, we’ll follow what you said.”

After much haggling.

Ye Guichen reluctantly agreed to be the Sect Leader of Shennong Sect, and from today, the signboard of Yunji Hall would be changed to Shennong Hall, becoming a branch of Shennong Sect.

Mai Gu also patted his chest promising to buy a few stores to open more Shennong Halls.

Of course, the most important thing was to visit the abandoned old site of Shennong Sect, announcing the new Sect Leader to the ancestors buried there many years ago.

But those were matters for later.

After much talking, Ye Guichen felt his mouth dry, finally saying: ”Masters, as for how Shennong Sect should operate specifically, you two veterans can discuss. Today, I actually came to treat Linglong’s leg.”

”Treat her leg?”

The two old men, originally quarrelling about promoting Shennong Sect, immediately shut up upon hearing Ye Guichen’s words.

”You mean you can cure Linglong’s leg?” Su Tong asked excitedly.

Mai Gu also couldn’t believe it: ”Linglong’s legs have been this way since childhood, even Senior Brother doesn’t have full confidence, you’re not joking with us old men, are you?”

Linglong also widened her eyes, looking at Ye Guichen in disbelief, as if afraid he would say no.

Ye Guichen smiled: ”How could I joke about my Junior Sister’s legs?”
