My Silly, Sweet Wife

”Guichen, this is my bestie, Mi Lan, whom I mentioned to you before.” Just as Ye Guichen was contemplating how to face Mi Lan, Chen Ziran had already dragged Mi Lan over and introduced her to Ye Guichen.

Mi Lan took off her sunglasses, smiled charmingly, and extended her hand: ”Yo, so you’re the country bumpkin that’s got Miss Chen so obsessed? Tsk tsk, other than being a bit handsome, there’s really not much to you.”

”Lanlan, if you keep talking nonsense, I won’t take you out anymore.” Chen Ziran felt extremely embarrassed as her bestie, who had never liked Ye Guichen, was now mocking him openly.

Upon hearing this, Ye Guichen let out a long breath, relieved that Mi Lan seemed unaware he had seen her body.

What a relief.

For some reason, Ye Guichen felt like he was sneaking around.

”Can’t help it, being handsome is an asset.” Ye Guichen forced a smile and shook Mi Lan’s hand.

Unexpectedly, Mi Lan rubbed her thumb twice on the back of Ye Guichen’s hand.

Immediately, Ye Guichen felt as if he’d been electrified.

Damn, she’s seducing me right in front of her bestie. Just wait, when I get the chance, I’m gonna deal with you properly!

Ye Guichen, fearing that Chen Ziran would notice something, quickly withdrew his hand. He just glanced at Mi Lan, who smiled suggestively, ”By the way, Ye Guichen, Ranran has quite high standards. To admit you so quickly, did you drug her and force her to comply?”

”Lanlan, what nonsense!” Chen Ziran shot Mi Lan a glare, not catching the meaning behind her words. Yet, the corner of Ye Guichen’s mouth twitched.

Damn, could she have figured it out?

”Haha, even if I did drug her, our wifey would be willing to be captivated by me.” Ye Guichen quickly deflected with a laugh.

Chen Ziran huffed, but her face couldn’t hide the sweetness.

Mi Lan was slightly taken aback, seeing Ye Guichen’s frantic state, her heart inexplicably ached.

Could it be?

Was that person really Ye Guichen?

Just a little probing, and Ye Guichen’s behavior was highly unusual.

Thinking that it was most likely Ye Guichen who had seen her body, Mi Lan’s cheeks couldn’t help but blush: ”Let’s go, let’s go, geez, you’re making me jealous!”

Mi Lan was the first to get into the car.

In the car, Wu Caijun and Wu Sandao exchanged glances, full of weird expressions.

”Wow, Mr. Ye is impressive, taking two top beauties to dig a tomb. High-level indeed, saves the boredom on the road.” Wu Caijun discreetly gave Ye Guichen a thumbs-up, started the car, and drove towards the suburbs.

They picked up Jingang at the gate.

Seeing Jingang’s large frame, everyone in the car suddenly had strange expressions.

Wu Caijun felt even more uneasy: ”Mr. Ye, this is Mr. Jingang...”

”Oh, he’s a friend, joining us.” Ye Guichen smiled, without explaining further.

Luckily, the car was big enough, but even so, with Jingang onboard, the whole car body dropped a bit.

Because of this, Ye Guichen had to sit in the back, squeezed between Chen Ziran and Mi Lan, while Wu Sandao woefully curled up in the trunk.

On his left, Chen Ziran, on his right, Mi Lan; Ye Guichen suddenly felt his head was about to explode.

”Ye Guichen, did you go to Rujia Hotel a few days ago?” Mi Lan suddenly asked, fiddling with her hair, as if casually.

”Ahem, well...”

”Lanlan, why would he go to a hotel? Seriously, you think everyone is like you, incapable of moving when seeing a handsome guy.” Chen Ziran retorted disapprovingly.

”Who knows, maybe your Ye Guichen uses drugs to lure pretty girls.”

Chen Ziran’s eyes widened, staring at Ye Guichen: ”Would you do that?”

Ye Guichen suddenly felt like his head had doubled in size: ”Ahem, Ranran, what are you talking about? Am I that kind of person?”

”You can’t judge a book by its cover.” Mi Lan folded her arms, smirked without genuine laughter.

Chen Ziran glanced at Ye Guichen, then at Mi Lan, feeling that her bestie was acting odd and cryptic today: ”Lanlan, are you alright?”

”Why wouldn’t I be?” Mi Lan maintained her composure: ”I’m single anyhow, if another man sees my body, it doesn’t matter. But if a married man sees another woman, that’s worth discussing, isn’t it?”

”Ahem!” Ye Guichen suddenly felt that this romantic mess wasn’t so great.

Mi Lan’s words clearly indicated she knew it was him back then.

At this rate, he might get torn apart by these two women before reaching Snake Head Mountain.

”Wu Caijun, how are you driving, so fast, can’t you see the red light ahead?” Ye Guichen suddenly shouted at Wu Caijun.

Wu Caijun was startled, looked up and mumbled: ”Where are the lights?”

Glancing through the rearview mirror, Wu Caijun saw Ye Guichen’s face was extremely flushed, unsure if it was from heat or anxiety.

”Wow, Ye Guichen, your face is so red! Let me wipe it for you.” Mi Lan suddenly reached out to wipe Ye Guichen’s face.

Chen Ziran was stunned, her eyes quickly darted around, ”Lanlan, are you two hiding something from me?”

”No...No...”

”No...How could that be...”

Before Chen Ziran could press further, Ye Guichen and Mi Lan answered in unison.

The driver Wu Caijun’s eyes sparkled.

Damn, what’s going on here, feels like Mr. Ye is juggling two besties? Haha, this drama seems super exciting!

Chen Ziran’s face turned black as coal, hands on hips, staring at Ye Guichen, and began questioning him.

Ye Guichen wouldn’t dare say anything.

Only if he wanted to die.

”Ranran, you’re overthinking. I just met Mi Lan today. What on earth are you imagining?” Ye Guichen wished he could turn into a little mouse and find a hole to hide in.

”Screech...!”

Suddenly, there was a sharp braking sound from the off-road vehicle.

Everyone in the car jolted forward.

Mi Lan had stood up intending to wipe Ye Guichen’s face, causing a stir. But with the sudden braking, she lost her balance, falling right into Ye Guichen’s arms, and accidentally sitting on his lap.

At that moment, Ye Guichen was dumbfounded.

Damn!

”Wu Caijun, can you drive or not!”

If Chen Ziran wasn’t here, Ye Guichen would definitely want to savor the moment.

But at this moment, savoring it was courting death.

Ye Guichen hesitated briefly, then roughly pushed Mi Lan aside, glaring at her viciously.

Mi Lan was startled by the sudden situation, but recalling the flirtation with Ye Guichen just now, her heart pounded wildly.

This happened right in front of her bestie.

Oh god, so awkward.

”Mr. Ye, there’s a car ahead.” Wu Caijun’s face didn’t look good either, quickly explaining, rolling down the window and swearing: ”Damn, can’t you drive?”
