Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System

Han Ruochen shivered. Her face turned pale as she took a step away from Zhai Muchen. ”Anyway, can you not give me such missions in the future? I am just a commoner, and I would like to stay alive until I am old and weathered. I don’t want to die without knowing how I was killed.”

Was she too careless? Did she show off too much? Maybe she did. What kind of character was Zhai Muchen? He must have sensed something amiss after realising that she was able to do something that not even an experienced fisherman was able to do. Sure enough, the country and army did not make a mistake when they made this man the chief.

”You don’t want to tell the truth to me? Well, it’s your choice. If you don’t want to tell the truth to me, then you don’t have to.” Having realised that he might have scared the young lady, Zhai Muchen relaxed and put away the usual skills that he used to interrogate enemies. He softened his tone. ”But you must know, Han Ruochen. I may not ask you this today, but it doesn’t mean someone else will not suspect that there is something wrong with you tomorrow.”

”If you truly don’t want to tell the truth to others, then you need to keep an eye on your actions.”

”Brother Muchen, don’t worry. I understand. In fact, if it wasn’t for you, I would have never accepted this mission. Usually, when I am at sea, I would at most use some of the skills that I learnt from my grandfather. But I have never done anything wrong with the skills that I have learnt other than fishing.”

Han Ruochen quickly assured Zhai Muchen that she was very careful and loyal to her country, and she would never do anything to betray the country. She dared not give herself away too much lest someone become too suspicious of her.

Being reborn was an incredulous thing to begin with, and on top of that, she even had a system that could bring her the biggest advantage when she was at sea. If anyone knew the truth about it, she would definitely be captured and sent to the lab, dissected like a white mouse.

She was so blessed and lucky to have a second life. Han Ruochen would definitely cherish her life a hundred—no, a thousand times more than her previous life. The only reason she slipped this time was that she subconsciously believed that Zhai Muchen would never do anything to harm her.

How could Zhai Muchen not understand the meaning of Han Ruochen’s words?

Somehow, Zhai Muchen, who usually did not like listening to glib words, had a sweet feeling in his heart after listening to Han Ruochen’s words. It was a very pleasant feeling.

He paused and wondered if he was the only exception in Han Ruochen’s life. When he thought about how Han Ruochen had never shown such a side in front of anyone else, including her family, the corners of Zhai Muchen’s mouth curled upward slightly into a smile. ”It is a good thing that you know what you are doing; not everyone you meet will have good intentions like me.”

He paused and then added, ”And you don’t have to worry. With this task alone, you will make some great sensations.” And when he saw her open her mouth, he continued firmly, ”As for what will happen if this great deed gets known to everyone, you will not have to worry about anything. I will deal with everything. Of course, from now on, if the old man has any tasks for you, I will go through them and only give you the ones that will not endanger your life.”

”Brother Muchen, there is no need. Even if no one knows about my contribution, I will be fine.” Han Ruochen immediately shook her head. She did not do it because she wanted to gain fame; she took the mission because she wanted to test the system and her limits. Now that she knew what kind of monster she had in her possession, Han Ruochen had no desire to gain fame. It would only make it difficult for her to roam around in the sea freely. ”Anyway, I think I am done with missions for the time being. It is inappropriate for someone like me to do such missions. It can create public outrage if the matter is not dealt with properly.”

This was a matter of state and the country. And she was just a fisherwoman with no title or authority. It would be too problematic if she repeatedly took tasks that belonged to the navy and the government.

”As I said, you do not have to be anxious. Since you can tell these tasks are important, you just have to do them without mentioning them to others. Once the matter is settled, even the higher-ups will have to accept your help and give you an unauthorised position.” Zhai Muchen was calm and composed, unlike Han Ruochen, who was so anxious that she was sweating.

Zhai Muchen knew what kind of tasks Han Ruochen would be given once the success of this mission was reported to the higher-ups. Of course, the risks involved would only grow higher, but if Han Ruochen gained power in this field, then no one would be able to suppress her even if he were not with her.

Since he had chosen Han Ruochen, he would do everything in his power to make sure that Han Ruochen would never be bullied by anyone.

He believed in Han Ruochen and knew she would never betray the country. He did not need to remind her or make any requests since she would do a good job on her own.

”Brother Muchen, don’t put it this way. I am under a lot of stress, and I am timid by nature, so I would never reveal the tasks that I am going to do. But I am worried something might happen at home. Just look at what happened this time: I went to the sea for a month and —” Han Ruochen paused, and her eyes widened. ”Oh no! I forgot about my brother.”
