Mana Revival: Starting by Sacrificing the Campus Belle!

Chapter 120: Chapter 108: Fang Xiu’s Speed

There weren’t many Demon Beasts around the Level 40 BOSS.

After all, with such a powerful being present, they didn’t dare get too close.

This also meant Fang Xiu encountered very few Demon Beasts along the way.

Not only were there no Demon Beasts, but he also rarely came across any Rare Materials or high-level medicinal herbs.

This made Fang Xiu feel that it was all rather pointless.

”We’ve walked a full circle and still haven’t found any new Treasure Chests or other good stuff!”

Fang Xiu said helplessly.

”Yeah, Master, we’ve circled the area around this BOSS several times now, and there aren’t any more caves!”

Kajimi was still a bit fixated on caves.

In her eyes, the probability of a Treasure Chest appearing in a cave was the highest.

”Let’s go. We’re leaving.”

Since there were no more Treasure Chests or anything of the sort here, Fang Xiu didn’t plan to stay in this Gate World any longer.

After all, in this Thirty-Sixth Gate World, the strength of the Demon Beasts was generally not very high.

Fang Xiu didn’t even have the interest to hunt these Demon Beasts anymore.

After all, any potential drops or Demon Cores from killing them were of no use to Fang Xiu.

So, Fang Xiu had only one goal—the Gate World’s Treasure Chests.

Unfortunately, the areas farther away from the BOSS had basically been thoroughly scoured by the Awakened who came here for training.

Even if there had been any Treasure Chests, they had likely already been found and opened.

Fang Xiu didn’t dally.

’Using this time to go home and focus on my Cultivation so I can go to better Gate Worlds later is the right path.’

”Kajimi, let’s go back!”

Fang Xiu had no desire to linger in this Gate World where the Demon Beasts were generally not very strong.

Soon, under the effect of Kajimi’s Flying and Invisibility, the two of them left the Gate World.

They headed straight for home.

...

「Meanwhile, in the office that managed the Thirty-Sixth Gate World.」

It was full of people, every one of them with a grave expression.

”There’s no record of Fang Xiu entering the Gate World?”

A man who looked like a leader looked at the data his subordinate handed him.

He spoke, his brow furrowed.

”Y-Yes... We’ve confirmed it many times. There’s nothing!”

The girl in charge said weakly.

She wasn’t an Awakened and had a hard time finding this job.

If she got fired because of this mistake, she would cry her eyes out.

”What happened?”

the leader asked directly.

”I... I don’t know either. There’s nothing wrong with the machine, and the surveillance footage doesn’t show Mr. Fang... Mr. Fang Xiu entering.”

The girl replied weakly.

Under the gazes of so many Awakened, she was under immense pressure.

”Nothing on the surveillance either?”

The leader looked toward another person and asked.

”That’s right... The surveillance system isn’t broken, and there are no signs of manual tampering, but it didn’t record Mr. Fang Xiu entering the Thirty-Sixth Gate World!”

The other person hurriedly replied.

”It didn’t record him? Could it be Invisibility?”

At that moment, the leader suddenly thought of this possibility.

He looked at the person responsible for monitoring Awakened with Invisibility.

”No, the detection equipment didn’t react either!”

That person shook his head.

”What’s going on? No fingerprint record, no surveillance footage, no detection... There’s only one entrance to this Gate World. You tell me, how did he get in?”

At this point, the leader finally couldn’t hold back his anger.

Because Fang Xiu had killed a Level 40 BOSS at only Level 15.

This was naturally something worth publicizing.

His superiors had also quickly contacted him, the person in charge.

They wanted to know the time Fang Xiu entered the Gate World to see if he had anyone with him.

But now, there was nothing?

How was he supposed to explain this to his superiors?

”Sir, I have some information I’d like to report!”

Just then, a man walked in.

If Fang Xiu had been here, he definitely would have recognized him.

This man was none other than the captain of the hunting squad.

”Oh? Speak!”

The leader nodded slightly.

His attitude toward this captain was quite good.

”I have some witnesses who saw Mr. Fang Xiu arrive. The Guards said that he tried to enter the Gate World right when the incident was happening, but they stopped him.”

”According to eyewitnesses, Mr. Fang Xiu went to the Gate World alone. There was no one else with him.”

”At the time, because of the Gate World’s Frozen incident, the Guards didn’t let him enter, and he left afterward!”

The captain took out a few photos and said, ”This is from the surveillance footage at the time!”

These photos were all of Fang Xiu.

The leader took them, looked them over, and nodded in satisfaction.

He gestured for the captain to continue.

”Not long after Mr. Fang Xiu left, it’s said that inside the Gate World, while our team members were carrying the injured, they heard a voice asking for the BOSS’s location. But when they looked around, they couldn’t see anyone.”

The captain continued, ”After that, Mr. Fang Xiu killed the BOSS, resolving the crisis in the Thirty-Sixth Gate World.”

”Oh? They couldn’t see anyone? But he had already entered the Gate World?”

the leader asked.

”Yes. According to the team members who were there, they all heard him, but no one saw Mr. Fang Xiu.”

the captain said.

”Hm? What’s going on then? It wasn’t Invisibility, since the Invisibility detector wasn’t broken and didn’t pick up anything!”

The leader frowned. ’What is this all about?’

”Based on all the evidence, it seems Mr. Fang Xiu entered the Thirty-Sixth Gate World while we were already en route to hunt the BOSS. However, he still managed to arrive at the center of the Gate World before us and kill the Level 40 BOSS.”

The captain, seeming to have anticipated this, continued, ”Furthermore, we saw the BOSS’s corpse was still there, which means it wasn’t killed by Sacrifice.”

”Hm? Not by Sacrifice?”

The information the leader had received was that Fang Xiu was an SSS Level Sacrificial Master.

The rumor circulating outside was also that Fang Xiu had used Sacrifice on the BOSS and saved everyone.

If it wasn’t Sacrifice, then how did a Sacrificial Master kill a Level 40 BOSS?

”Did someone else enter the Gate World with Fang Xiu?”

the leader asked.

The captain shook his head. ”We don’t know about that. But based on the situation at the scene and all the data combined, Mr. Fang Xiu’s speed must be incredibly fast!”

”He used his high speed to enter the Thirty-Sixth Gate World directly, then used that same speed to overtake our squad and kill the BOSS. We can be certain of this!”

The captain said with great certainty.

He could tell this from all the evidence.

”Speed?”

The leader’s brow furrowed.

’Could it be that this Fang Xiu has some other Skill or method that we don’t know about?’
