My Talent's Name Is Generator

Arkas observed for a long moment, then finally spoke.

“Looks good. But you have got something wrong. Now listen carefully.”

“Essence is the ocean. The elements are rivers flowing from it. Most people are born beside a river, dipping their hands into its waters. But you… you stand in the ocean.

You don’t just use fire, water, or wind like the others. You hold the trunk of the tree that is Essence. Everyone else is stuck using branches.”

He gestured to the fireball in my hand.

“That? That’s just one color pulled from the full spectrum. Fire is red. But Essence, Essence is white light. It holds all of it. Every frequency. Every possibility.”

He looked at me then, serious.

“Most can’t touch Essence directly. It’s too chaotic. Too vast. Their minds can’t handle the raw input. So they develop affinities, get assigned classes, use templates that filter the Essence for them. They think they’re using fire. They’re not. They’re using filtered Essence pretending to be fire.”

I understood what he was getting at.

“You, on the other hand…you can generate and control Essence before level 100.

That legendary class of yours gives you authority over raw Essence, the kind that exists everywhere. Even if you lost your talent tomorrow, you’d still have access to atmospheric Essence. That alone puts you leagues above the rest.”

He paused, letting that sink in.

“You don’t need training wheels. No preset skills. No elemental affinities guiding your hand. You have access to the ocean that is Essence.

That fireball burns hotter, faster because it’s built to do just that. It’s focused. But Essence is the source. Fire, wind, water they all come from it. When you use pure Essence, you’re using everything at once. That’s why, in raw power, Essence will always be stronger than any single element.”

He glanced at me.

“That said, elements have their own use. You can’t freeze someone with a blast of purple Essence, you’ll need ice for that. That’s where elements come in. They’re precise. They do specific things better.”

He smiled a little.

“But here’s your advantage. Since you control Essence itself, you’re not locked to one path. You’re not stuck with just fire or just wind. You can use all of them. The only thing holding you back is how well you can sense and control the parts of Essence that make each of the elements.”

I nodded, but a question kept tugging at me.

“Then… what kind of combat style should I focus on?”

Arkas let out a short chuckle.

“First and foremost, don’t stray from the path of Essence. Your class has the word Noblesse in it, don’t take that lightly. Forming a sphere is just the beginning. You need to explore it deeper. Comprehend what it really means.”

He raised a finger.

“Second, prioritize the Essence you generate. The purple. Use the atmospheric one, the green, only when you’re running low. That raw Essence you create yourself? It hits harder. Denser. More stable.”

He pointed toward the fireball I’d made.

“Third and this is the mistake you just made, you’re pulling fire from the nearby Essence instead of the Essence inside the sphere you formed. Remember, all elements exist within Essence. You just have to learn to find them, feel them, and draw them out.”

He paused for a moment.

“And fourth, this one’s important. Your talent lets you enhance your stats. That’s no small thing. It means you have a path to physical dominance too. Don’t ignore your body. If you don’t build it up alongside your Essence control, you’re wasting one of your biggest trump cards.”

He clapped his hands and said.

“Now create this fire ball again but this time convert the Essence ball into fire ball instead of pulling the fire particles from the nearby Essence.”

I nodded and dispersed the fireball.

Taking a deep breath, I began again.

Green Essence surged into my palm like a pulse dense, swirling, and rotating like a whirlpool. It formed a perfect spinning core of energy, sharp and stable.

That’s when a thought struck me.

Why was I making it spin?

A static core would’ve been easier to control, more efficient. But for some reason, I wanted it rotating, even though it took more focus, more discipline.

I shook the thought off and focused.

The usual method would’ve been to draw heat from around me, pull fire particles from the world and shape them into flame. But this time, I had to do something else.

I closed my eyes.

I imagined the Essence in my palm as an ocean. Wild. Chaotic. Alive. I stepped into it, mentally, letting myself drift in the dense, spinning mass I held.

Currents pushed from every direction.

Heavy, thick pressure swirled around me.

Somewhere inside this storm, a fire stream existed. I just had to find it.

It wasn’t easy.

My senses blurred. There were too many threads, too many pulses, some cold and slow, others sharp and fast. Everything clashed and twisted.

But I stayed patient.

Then I pushed further.

I imagined myself standing in the very center of the rotating core. Essence swirled all around me raw, untouched, and waiting. The fire I needed was here. I just had to reach it.

To sharpen my perception, I began channeling Essence directly from my core to my brain. The last time I did this was when I first awakened [Psynapse Boost] and after that, the skill handled the channeling of Essence for me.

Now, I did it myself.

More and more Essence flooded my head. My focus sharpened. My vision swam. Pain bloomed behind my eyes, sharp and sudden but I ignored it. I welcomed it.

Then—I felt it.

A tight, aggressive current. Fast. Hot. Angry.

It burned as I reached toward it not physically, but deep within my Psynapse.

My fingers clenched without meaning to. The spinning core in my palm resisted, pulsing like a wild heart. The fire didn’t want to be found.

But I didn’t back off.

The more I tried to pinpoint it, the more it slipped away. Frustration built in my chest like pressure. My control wavered but then I remembered Arkas’ words: I was a Noblesse.

I wasn’t here to ask. I was here to command.

I roared in my mind.

‘You are mine to rule. When I reach, you answer.’

Something shifted.

I didn’t fully understand it but it clicked. My senses snapped into place. The fire current didn’t blur anymore, it separated. Distinct. Clear. Like it had finally acknowledged me.

I grabbed hold and pulled hard.

The rotating sphere pulsed once.

Then fire roared inside it.

A single spark erupted and spread like wildfire. In an instant, the entire rotating mass of Essence was aflame. Not borrowed. Not summoned. But transformed.

I felt the weight of it in my hand hot, dense, alive.

I was just about to open my eyes when Arkas’ voice cut through.

“Don’t lose your focus. Now revert it back to Essence.”

I clenched my jaw and focused on the spinning fireball in my palm. Reverting it wouldn’t just be undoing a spell. It meant unwinding a transformation. Turning shaped, directed energy back into its raw, chaotic form.

In my mind’s eye, I returned to the rotating core. Only this time, instead of diving in to find the fire stream, I had to let it go.

That was the hard part.

The fire didn’t want to go. It clung to the structure, fighting to stay dominant. I could feel it, every pulse of heat pushing back as if I were ripping threads from a woven cloth.

And even as I unraveled it, I knew something was off.

There was loss.

The Essence I’d pulled apart to become fire, it wasn’t all returning. The conversion wasn’t clean. Some of it had burned too hot. Some had thinned out, frayed like overused cloth. I could feel the density dropping.

By the time I’d fully reverted the fireball, what floated above my hand wasn’t what I started with.

It was smaller.

Dimmer.

Still Essence but not as full. Not as rich.

That’s when I heard the notification.
