The Golem Mage

”What’s your plan?”

The System Spirit, who was now fully released in the absence of anyone else, asked Alec with a somber expression.

”Truth be told, I’m just as clueless.”

” I can only hope for a miracle, as always, If not, I’ll have to buy us some time by deploying my golems and hope that With their help, it’ll be much harder for the pursuers to track us down, since we’ll always find them first thanks to Legions scanner” Alec replied.

”That sounds like a foolish plan,” the system spirit retorted.

”Do you have a better plan?, If you do, please let me know right away, I am opened to new ideas and opinion ” Alec challenged the spirit, who averted its gaze in embarrassment.

”Well, since we don’t have any other plan, I guess we’ll stick to this one, After all, a bad plan is still better than no plan,”

the system spirit grumbled reluctantly, agreeing to Alec’s proposal.

”Master, that might not be necessary, as the pursuers seem to have split into smaller groups to cover more ground,” Legion interjected

causing Terran’s expression to turn grave, He knew that if this was the case, they would be able to cover more space , and his clansmen along with James’s group might be in danger.

”Alright, we’ll adjust our plans accordingly, Let’s create enough commotion to lure all of them in. Away from our escaping buddies”

” Legion, use your heat map to identify the weaker team among them.,We’ll take them out first,” Alec instructed.

”I’ve already done that, master!” Legion responded.

”Oh, you have? How convenient, Give me all the details,” Alec requested.

”The weakest group consists of two mages in that direction, approximately 80 meters away, Unfortunately, the bush forest is obstructing our view and theirs also, but if we attack them by surprise now, our chances of success would be higher,” Legion reported.

”I also detected that both mages are in the Tier 4 Mage realm, although one has significantly lower fluctuations in power rating while the second has a sound and firm power rating”

” Considering our overall strength and the element of surprise, our chances of winning should be around 80 percent,” Legion added.

Legion relayed all the information to Alec, causing him to break a sweat upon realizing that both mages were Tier 4.

He felt Kethra had gone above and beyond by bringing such powerful mages, showing just how determined he was to prevent them from escaping his clutches this time.

However, due to the enhancements in Legion’s after hwe became a Robotic Golem, they were able to notice faster If not rhey might have been the one’s being Ambushed now.

there was even a high chance of taking care of their first opponents without much difficulty.

Alec was willing to take the risk, given the favorable probability, the had.

”Spread out, Legion. Lead the way and we’ll attack according to your data and instructions ,” Alec commanded, summoning the glowing red tattoos of his armor set, it was time like this he realise while Agnes had warned him about being impulsive as he was still without his Mana but he wasn’t not really worried aas he looked forward to his next enhancement after he took of the Crown again.

Coincidentally, the target of Legion’s analysis happened to be the group of the divination mage and he was being accompanied by a Barrier mage.

With The divination mage’s unique ability, they were able to track Alec’s exact location.

When the divination mage sensed a mage aura closing in, he told the Barrier Mage with him who allowed himself to be flooded by his emotions.

As being the first to strike meant they could steal any valuables before Kethra arrived, he won’t be able to search them and could only blame his bad luck.

Additionally, he Was already thinking of taking care of the divination mage to ensured his silence about the events that was about transpired.

”How close are we to this mage?” the barrier mage inquired

Gripping his great axe tightly and swinging it to clear the path of any bushes.

The divination mage, with closed eyes, trying to discern Alec’s position, raised his hand for his colleague to be silent, as he was disturbed by his words.

”Tch, just be quick and locate their whereabouts before anyone else does, If not, you’re not that useful,” the barrier mage remarked dismissively.

At that very moment, the divination mage’s eyes snapped open, fixated on the barrier mage.

”We need to run and get out of here!”

the divination mage exclaimed, dashing towards the direction they just came from, He was willing to abandon the mission given to them in that very moment.

”How dare you do that?, I thought you said one of them was close just now. Don’t tell me you’re scared of just one Tier 2 mage.”

” Even if they teamed up, we’re Tier 4 mages, for God’s sake. Grow a pair of balls!” the barrier mage shouted at the top of his lungs,

hoping to change his companion’s mind and convince him to come back.

However, his words seemed to fall on deaf ears.

”No problem, then. I’ll take care of this mage myself. I don’t really need you. I’ll take all the credit,”

The axe-wielding mage declared, on the verge of turning back.

He didn’t believe that as a Tier 4 mage who had already entered the Mid Tier rank and was about to learn external casting, he should be afraid of a Tier 2 mage.

Even if he encountered James, who was said to be protecting the group, he had the confidence to stall him since James had just advanced and should not have gotten great control over his power, this happens for all mages that are just stepping in to the Mid Rank.

In case things went sideways, he was also prepared to light up the signal flare, enabling the remaining members of the split team to locate him quickly.

This would save him and also lead them to the ones they were searching for.

In his eyes, either way, it would be a win for him.

That’s why he decided to push forward and complete the task, ignoring the Divination mage’s warning.

But the moment he turned his face completely, he was met with a sudden punch to his face.

He stumbled backward, feeling blood rushing from his nose.

Pain shot through him as he raised his hand to touch the blood trickling down.

Everything had happened in a flash, and all he had seen was a red fist.

When he raised his head to determine who had sneakily attacked him, all he could see was a group of golems being led by a man in the center, wielding a Changdao in his left hand.

”Where is the other one? I thought you said there were two,” Alec questioned Legion.

”There were two of them, but he seems to be able to locate us the moment we get closer and run. He’s very cautious, and it wouldn’t be wise to go after someone like that,” the barrier mage expressed, his frustration evident.

”Okay, then we’ll finish off this mage and ambush the next set of weaker mages,” Alec suggested. However, the barrier mage was growing increasingly furious.

Finally, he realized why the divination mage had left.

It was because the mage in front of him possessed about eight unique-looking golems, an exceptionally rare sight.

He had seen some great golem creators in the past, from other great Academy , but they usually only had three or four unique golems at most.

But This Mage in front of him, on the other hand, had an impressive eight of them.

Yet, it wasn’t the number of golems that angered him the most.

It was the way this mage looked down on him, talking to his Golem while he had initiated a fight.

Despite everything, he still perceived Alec to be an ordinary Tier 2 mage who could be easily defeated.

”You’ll pay for looking down on me like this,” the barrier mage seethed as he raised his axe, dashing towards Alec, who was still engaged in conversation with Legion.
