Cultivation Begins with Daily Intelligence Reports

91: Spiritual power split into threeWhen the bitterness that had seeped into his very bones finally receded like the tide, Lin Jingyu lay prone on the cold meditation cushion like a dead dog, lacking even the strength to move his fingers.

He stared blankly at the ceiling, with only one thought remaining in his mind: Whoever wants to eat this damn thing can have it! I’m never touching it again, even if it kills me!

After resting for an unknown amount of time, until the feeling of exhaustion in his body had slightly receded, Lin Jingyu struggled to sit up cross-legged.

He forced himself to discard all distracting thoughts, circulated the Evergreen Art, and strove to enter a meditative state of self-oblivion.

Gradually, his breathing became long and steady, and his heartbeat slowed down.

In his Sea of Consciousness, the lake composed of clear Mental Energy was now calm and ripple-free, like the finest glaze, pure and translucent, emitting a warm luster.

He could clearly ’look inward’ and see that the lake’s water level had reached a state of saturation; the lake surface was calm and still, unable to hold even a trace more Mental Energy.

Now is the time!

Lin Jingyu suddenly opened his eyes, a flash of brilliance passing through his pupils, sharp as a blade. He took a deep breath, picked up the heavy ’brick’ Jade Slip again, and without hesitation, slammed it onto his forehead!

His mind sank into the splitting secret technique of the Spirit Refining Art.

He carefully guided the Mental Energy in his Sea of Consciousness, starting to circulate it according to the secret technique.

Hum...

Deep within the Sea of Consciousness, the originally mirror-calm Mental Energy lake began to ripple slightly.

Those two strange fluctuations, originating from the basic cultivation of the Spirit Refining Art and running day and night.

One like rising and falling waves, the other like an undercurrent surging back and forth, suddenly became clear and intense!

Under Lin Jingyu’s powerful and precise control of Mental Energy, these two fluctuations no longer acted independently, but began to approach, intertwine, and resonate with each other at a profound frequency!

It was as if two invisible forces were rubbing and squeezing against each other!

Gradually, they combined tightly, no longer a loose ’broken fishing net’.

Instead, they formed two dense and tough ’Mental Fabrics’, like steel refined a hundred times!

Under Lin Jingyu’s will, these fabrics began to compress and condense crazily inward from the middle!

Compress! Compress again!

The invisible Mental Energy pressure, like a ten-thousand-ton hydraulic press, acted fiercely upon the two ’Mental Fabrics’!

Lin Jingyu felt as if his head had been fitted with an ever-tightening iron hoop, sending waves of dull, throbbing pain, making it difficult even to breathe.

This operational method was no different from multitasking.

If it were just splitting Mental Energy into two, it wouldn’t be this troublesome; just condensing it into one piece would suffice.

The difficulty would be greatly reduced.

Lin Jingyu gritted his teeth and persisted; the clear Mental Energy provided excellent resilience and controllability.

Finally, that ’Mental Fabric’ was compressed to its limit, unable to shrink even a fraction more, its density and strength reaching an astonishing level!

It was no longer fabric, but a heavy, hard piece of iron.

According to the description of the Spirit Refining Art, it now initially possessed the prototype of the ’Secret Technique Blades’, sufficient for splitting.

But Lin Jingyu was not satisfied!

He knew well that the firmer the foundation, the more stable the splitting, and the lower the risk! Enduring the immense pressure on his mind, he began to mobilize the remaining Mental Energy in his Sea of Consciousness!

Swish...

Like inducing a tide, the calm Mental Energy lake stirred with waves.

Streams of pure Mental Energy were precisely guided out by Lin Jingyu, transforming into invisible ’Mental Forging Hammers’.

Carrying the force of a thousand jun, they smashed fiercely toward the two prototypes of the ’Secret Technique Blades’ that had been compressed to the extreme!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Every invisible impact felt as if it were striking deep within Lin Jingyu’s Soul, bringing waves of dull tremors and stinging pain.

But his eyes remained firm, unwavering, continuously carrying out this near-masochistic forging!

This pain was not even worth mentioning compared to the bitterness that had seeped deep into his Soul earlier.

Under countless ’forgings’, those two ’Secret Technique Blades’ prototypes, which had initially been somewhat blurred in form, began to undergo a transformation!

Their forms became clearer and more condensed, and sharp, cold glints gradually appeared at their edges!

Finally, in Lin Jingyu’s Sea of Consciousness, two ancient-looking long blades of Mental Energy were suspended.

The blades were still faintly rough, with some edges ground out.

Just like a big blade roughly forged by a blacksmith’s apprentice in the mortal world.

But for him, it had already reached the limit.

This level also reached the second layer of the ’Secret Technique Blades’ from the Spirit Refining Art’s splitting secret technique: Blade Edge as Sharp as a Knife.

’It’s done!’ Lin Jingyu muttered inwardly, a flash of excitement in his eyes.

At this moment, the Mental Energy lake in his Sea of Consciousness, after the crazy forging and guidance just now, had seen its water level drop by two-thirds, leaving only a shallow layer.

The time has come!

Lin Jingyu did not hesitate any longer, his thoughts moving like lightning!

He released the restraints on the two ’Mental Long Blades’, and at the same time, used his will to make them instantly swell, becoming as large as the entire Mental Energy lake.

Like two giant blades capable of splitting heaven and earth, they hung across the sky of his Sea of Consciousness!

’Slash!’

With a silent roar in his heart, the two huge Mental Long Blades, carrying the resolute will to sever all obstacles and divide the Chaos.

With the momentum of a thunderbolt, they slashed fiercely toward the calm Mental Energy lake below!

Sshhh—!

An indescribable, sharp, and intense pain, as if his Soul had been instantly sliced open by the sharpest of blades, pierced violently into Lin Jingyu’s mind!

This pain transcended the limits of the physical body and reached directly to the Origin of the Soul, causing his vision to go black, his body to tremble violently, and almost causing him to fall from the meditation cushion!

This pain was comparable to the bitterness of the lantern fruit.

But it lacked the continuous, Soul-crushing pain of being sliced a thousand times.

The two ’Secret Technique Blades’, tempered a thousand times from clear Mental Energy, were far sharper than he had imagined.

After only a momentary, intense pain, the blades sliced through the ’lake bed’ of the Mental Energy lake like a hot knife through butter, without any resistance!

Swish!

The entire Sea of Consciousness seemed to tremble slightly.

Under this slash, the originally unified Mental Energy lake was cleanly divided into three!

It transformed into three relatively independent, much smaller, yet still clear and calm, small Mental Energy lakes!

Phew...

Lin Jingyu let out a long, long breath of stale air; his tense body relaxed instantly, his back already soaked with cold sweat.

He slowly opened his eyes, and although his gaze held a trace of fatigue, deep within, it shimmered with indescribable excitement and agitation.

It’s done! It actually worked! And the process went far more smoothly than he had imagined!

Although that momentary, intense pain was still etched into his bones, compared to the pain described in the secret technique—which required enduring thousands of cuts—this was simply negligible!
