Cultivation Simulator: Starting From The Empress' Palace

In Chen Mo’s view, since Zhao Ji is under house arrest, the marriage he proposed during his reign naturally doesn’t count.

Even if it does count, now the Xiao Family holds the power, and Zhao Fujin is Xiao Yunqi’s granddaughter, so it can be completely called off.

”Father intends to ally with the Wu Family and stabilize Jiangnan, so he plans to betroth Fujin to Wu Chang’an. Besides, I’ve met Wu Chang’an, and Fujin won’t suffer any grievance if she marries him,” Xiao Yunxi said.

In her view, parental orders and the words of the matchmaker are naturally to be followed.

As for whether Zhao Fujin is willing or not, that’s secondary.

Hearing this, Chen Mo paused his advantage and said, ”Does elder sister know about this? If she doesn’t like it, Yunxi, you shouldn’t force it, as a forced melon is never sweet...”

Saying this, he tried to appeal emotionally and logically.

It’s like when you didn’t like Zhao Ji before marrying him, right?

Now you’re forcing elder sister, isn’t that making her walk the same path as you?

The principle of not doing to others what you don’t want done to yourself even came up.

However, this whole argument only strengthened Xiao Yunxi’s resolve to marry Zhao Fujin to Wu Chang’an.

What she’s most worried about is Fujin getting involved with Chen Mo.

So, she could only harden her heart.

Then Xiao Yunxi replied with a classic phrase.

I’m doing this for her own good.

She even suggested that if Fujin was unwilling, Chen Mo should persuade her.

”...”

Chen Mo said no more, fearing Xiao Yunxi would notice something, thinking that if it really came to that, he’d just spirit away his elder sister secretly.

He wouldn’t help Xiao Yunxi to persuade her.

Seeing her gaze, Chen Mo had to divert his attention elsewhere.

His large hand once again rested on Xiao Yunxi’s smooth black-stockinged leg, and he leaned down to block her lips.

Xiao Yunxi protested softly that Qing’Er and Cai’Er were still outside, and it would be bad if they were discovered, yet her body cooperated willingly.

Clasping Chen Mo around the neck, she responded to his kiss.

As Chen Mo went to undo her clothes, Xiao Yunxi did not refuse.

Soon, Chen Mo lifted Xiao Yunxi up.

Sitting half-up on the bed, he held Xiao Yunxi on his lap, with the two of them face to face in an unthinkably intimate position.

Xiao Yunxi blushed, resting her head on Chen Mo’s shoulder, letting him have his way.

To prevent Xiao Qing’Er and Cai’Er from overhearing anything outside, Chen Mo kept kissing Xiao Yunxi.

...

...

Chen Mansion.

”Master, I have something to...”

Seeing Chen Mo return, Chun Lan was delighted, but seeing his faltering steps, she hurried to support him and head to the backyard, saying, ”Master, what’s wrong with you?”

Chun Lan had never seen Chen Mo like this.

Chen Mo felt a bit embarrassed, quickly changing the subject, ”Just overexerted, I’ll be fine after a rest. So, did you have something to discuss with me?”

He had never been like this with Jiang Ruoqing before.

Even though Jiang Ruoqing was a Second-Grade Martial Artist.

But being with Xiao Yunxi tired him out greatly.

Were it not for consistent timing, he’d suspect he was worn out.

No, wait.

Chen Mo suddenly recalled that in an early simulation, he had once died of energy depletion.

Damn.

Almost forgot.

Xiao Yunxi’s physique is one that drains energy.

No wonder he always felt her strength had increased a bit before.

”It’s important, about Princess De Ning...” Chun Lan whispered into Chen Mo’s ear.

It turns out, Zhao Jiangning had her period these days. Though she had maids around her, she lacked a confidant, so Chun Lan hoped Chen Mo could take this opportunity to show some care.

As a woman, Chun Lan naturally understood the pain of menstruation, and if someone she liked cared for her with undivided attention, she’d be deeply touched.

So, in her view, Zhao Jiangning would be the same.

If Chen Mo went now, he’d greatly win over Zhao Jiangning’s favor.

Hearing this, Chen Mo thought for a moment and asked, ”Is there any brown sugar left in the house?”

”We do.” With many female owners in the household, Head Housekeeper Chun Lan would naturally ensure there’s brown sugar available.

”Then get me some brown sugar.” Chen Mo proceeded straight to the kitchen, intending to make some brown sugar water for Zhao Jiangning and deliver it himself.

...

Zhao Mansion.

Zhao Jiangning lay listlessly on the soft couch, not wanting to move, her brow furrowed in pain.

Women have those days every month, and Zhao Jiangning was no exception.

Fortunately, she had attendants to care for her, so even while bedridden, she had food brought to her, and could request any delicacies she desired.

Thus, she miss Chen Mo’s kindness for no particular reason.

After all, she was staying at Chen Mo’s place.

Eating his food, using his things.

Even the people serving her, apart from her personal maid, were arranged by him.

Thinking about it, Zhao Jiangning felt like she was somehow being kept by him.

Even her previously pale face blushed a little.

Maybe it was because Chen Mo had been gifting her thoughtful presents frequently. Not having seen him for several days now, Zhao Jiangning felt a sudden longing for Chen Mo.

Speak of the devil.

The heart speaks.

In no time, her personal maid entered the room and said, ”Your Highness, General Chen Hong is here to see you.”

”He’s really here.” Zhao Jiangning was stunned.

”What’s wrong, Your Highness?”

”Nothing, just let him in quickly,” Zhao Jiangning said, enduring the pain to tidy herself up, as she was slightly haggard from recovering from illness.

Having been tormented by illness for over twenty years, her body was inherently weaker than other women, so even just menstruation left her looking haggard.

”Yes.”

...

She applied some rouge on her face to cover it and added a light veil, as she had just been resting and was dressed somewhat revealingly.

Then, she picked up her oft-read ”Great Song Plants” from the table, held it in her hand, and pretended to read while sitting on the couch.

Soon, the beads curtain rustled, and Chen Mo’s voice followed: ”Minister Chen Hong, greeting Princess De Ning.”

”Come in.”

”Yes.”

...

Once the maids beside Zhao Jiangning had withdrawn, Chen Mo placed the food box on the table, took out the bowl of freshly made warm brown sugar water, and approached Zhao Jiangning with it:

”Your Highness, I heard you’re feeling unwell, so I specially made some brown sugar water for you to try...”

As Chen Mo approached, Zhao Jiangning suddenly stood up: ”Y-you can just leave it there, I-I’ll drink it myself...”

But Chen Mo was unfazed, sitting right next to her, and after cooling a spoonful of brown sugar water, held it to Zhao Jiangning’s mouth, ”Your Highness, just lie down and rest, I’ll feed you.”
