Cultivation Simulator: Starting From The Empress' Palace

In the third year of Xuanhe, on August 21st.

In the afternoon.

Backyard of the Luo Mansion.

Chen Mo held the Black Sword and assumed a sword stance. He then moved his steps, actions gentle, slowly thrusting out the blade, sometimes thrusting, sometimes slashing. It appeared somewhat flashy and a bit feminine, clearly a series of moves suitable for women to cultivate.

”This set of sword techniques is called the Wind Shadow Sword. It’s a mid-level Profound Tier Martial Arts the army seized these past days. It emphasizes a sword that moves with a sharp edge but leaves no shadow. It’s more gentle than sword forms and also suitable for beginners to cultivate. If you learn it, you’ll have some self-defense skills...”

Chen Mo spoke as he demonstrated the sword techniques.

Luo Zhen, who achieved Eighth Grade Martial Artist status through Yin Yang Balance last night, quietly listened at this moment, nodding slightly upon seeing the display. She held a small notebook, jotting down key points Chen Mo mentioned.

Seeing Luo Zhen so attentive, Chen Mo focused even more. The reason for teaching Luo Zhen was mainly due to boredom, having delegated tasks to his subordinates. Even matters of disaster relief were managed by others, thus thinking that since Luo Zhen was now an Eighth Grade Martial Artist, it was time to teach her some self-defense techniques.

After finishing another set of the Wind Shadow Sword, Chen Mo ended with a stylish ending sword form, turned back, and smiled at Luo Zhen: ”Zhen’Er, did you see clearly?”

Luo Zhen shyly shook her head: ”I only grasped a... little bit.”

”...Then demonstrate the little bit you’ve grasped, and I’ll teach you the rest slowly.” When it comes to teaching women, Chen Mo is quite patient.

Luo Zhen nodded, then grasped the Bamboo Sword Chen Mo specially crafted for her with both hands, took a deep breath, and then shouted softly:

”Hah!”

The Bamboo Sword moved, and she began her practice.

After seven or eight moves, she stopped.

She then looked at Chen Mo, awaiting his evaluation.

”Not bad.” Chen Mo wasn’t flattering Luo Zhen but speaking truthfully. Having watched it only a few times, she managed to mimic the essence of the Wind Shadow Sword, indicating her talent in this area: ”The posture is there, if the speed were faster, it would be even better, try again!”

Receiving praise, Luo Zhen’s face flushed slightly, filled with a bit of smugness, and she began practicing again.

After several rounds, Chen Mo was increasingly amazed, realizing Luo Zhen indeed had talent in this regard.

Logically, the movements of someone learning the sword for the first time should be clumsy, confined to the sword form, and somewhat restrained.

However, Luo Zhen managed to bring these moves to life, as if a small person in her mind was guiding her, not confined to one move or style.

”Could it be a genetic factor...” Chen Mo murmured to himself, recalling Luo Zhen mentioning her parents were assassins.

”Hmm... your comprehension is good, let’s learn the remaining moves...”

...

”Sir, someone is looking for you...”

When Xu Miaozhen arrived at the back courtyard to inform Chen Mo someone was looking for him.

She was stunned by the scene before her.

Luo Zhen was wearing a gray hemp robe, her long hair tied up. Her figure couldn’t compare to Xu Miaozhen’s, but at this moment, Xu Miaozhen saw a full allure in her, her skin soft and smooth, with plenty of tension in her waist and hips as she moved.

Her appearance at this moment made one feel quite... something.

Luo Zhen stood holding a Bamboo Sword, her body drenched in fragrant sweat, while Chen Mo was closely pressed against her back, holding her wrists.

Those who knew would understand Chen Mo was teaching Luo Zhen swordsmanship.

Those who didn’t might think something else just happened...

Upon hearing the voice, Luo Zhen quickly broke free, feeling a bit shy despite Xu Miaozhen already knowing about her relationship with Chen Mo, seeing some intimate actions from them made Luo Zhen still feel bashful.

”What is it?”

Chen Mo sat down on a stone bench nearby, took a sip of tea, and asked.

”Sir, wipe your sweat.” Luo Zhen tidied up a bit, then took out a handkerchief and started wiping the sweat off Chen Mo’s face.

Because Luo Zhen had been intentionally or unintentionally matchmaking herself with Chen Mo these past two days, thus causing Xu Miaozhen to find his gaze quite aggressive, her eyes dodged as she said:

”Sir, your subordinate heard that Xiao Shuai has come and is heading to the military camp, saying he wants to see you.”

”Xiao Teng...” Chen Mo was both surprised and roughly understood his intentions. After some thought, he said: ”Zhen’Er, pack up, you come with me.”

”Sir, why should I go too?”

Luo Zhen suddenly became a bit afraid. Logically, she shouldn’t be asking.

But she knew Xiao Teng was Chen Mo’s superior, and now he wanted to take her to see Xiao Teng, which made Luo Zhen fear Chen Mo might give her to Xiao Teng as a means to advance his career and wealth.

It wasn’t unfounded for Luo Zhen to think so, as such things were very common, especially since she, coming from a business background, understood it even better.

Chen Mo casually said: ”To deliver him a handle.”

These words made Luo Zhen even more panicked, tears accompanying her voice: ”Can I not go?”

Chen Mo was puzzled: ”Why?”

”Sir, I beg you, whatever you want me to do in the future, I will agree, just don’t give me to Xiao Shuai.” Luo Zhen cried.

”???

”What nonsense are you saying?” Chen Mo frowned, not understanding where Luo Zhen got that idea.

Luo Zhen hesitated, then explained.

Chen Mo found it somewhat amusing and then held Luo Zhen tightly in his arms, saying: ”I’m not foolish enough to give my own woman to someone else.”

In this aspect, he indeed had a severe cleanliness obsession.

He would never allow any other man to touch his woman.

”Then why do you want me to go with you to see Xiao Shuai?” Luo Zhen’s eyes still had a trace of doubt.

Chen Mo let Xu Miaozhen leave first, then briefly explained:

”To tell you the truth, my relationship with the Xiao Family is not as good as you think. Right now, I’ve been promoted to Military Commander, and the Infantry Department is going to allocate a group of ten thousand soldiers for me to lead. The Xiao Family is surely going to be cautious of me, so to reassure them, I can only offer a handle for them to hold on to...”

The Xiao Family cannot be relied upon.

Thus, since there was an opportunity for him to lead ten thousand men, Chen Mo had to seize it.

Luo Zhen was no fool; in fact, she was quite clever. After Chen Mo’s brief explanation, she understood.

However, in her speculation, Chen Mo was a Household General of the Xiao Family. To assure the Xiao Family and let them peacefully hand over ten thousand men to Chen Mo to command, he had to tell them he privately hid her away.

During wartime, privately hiding the number one beauty of Nanyang and not reporting it, was a crime that could be minor or severe, mostly depending on who blew the whistle.

Understanding what Chen Mo meant, Luo Zhen suddenly breathed a sigh of relief, simultaneously feeling a bit guilty for not trusting him.

Luo Zhen voluntarily kissed Chen Mo, then said: ”Sir, I’m sorry, I misunderstood you. I’ll tidy up right away.”

”No need.” Chen Mo pulled her back and said: ”You don’t have to go, I’ll think of another plan.”

PS: To seriously declare, this book will not have any green main character behavior, nor will there be a plot where the female lead is captured by the enemy, purely a feel-good story.
