Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 850: Chapter 717: Sifang Ranking Upset

Seeing that the Sifang City Lord finally returned to normal, the contestants each stepped forward and handed over their Four Directions Token to the Southern Envoy.

Despite the fact that the Sifang Ranking had been tallying the hunt counts over the past five days, the final result still had to be calculated based on the Four Directions Tokens each person held.

The most crucial moment had finally arrived.

”Sister Yue...” Long Baobao, clutching his Pig Head Qiankun Bag, glanced at Ye Lingyue nervously.

”Go on. You’ve done your best along the way.” Ye Lingyue sent Long Baobao off with an encouraging look.

The little one nodded, then stepped forward.

”What were you and the Sifang City Lord exchanging looks for just now?” Feng Xun asked Ye Lingyue with a smile beaming in her eyes.

”Jealous?” Ye Lingyue knew she couldn’t hide anything from Feng Xun.

”Jealous of an old predecessor who could be the same age as my grand ancestor? I’m not that petty.” Feng Xun replied irritably.

”How do you know that he... Does the Underworld Yama Palace have information on the Sifang City Lord?” Ye Lingyue didn’t believe Feng Xun had the ability to see through the true identity of the Sifang City Lord like she did. This left only one possibility: the information network of the Underworld Yama Palace was even more comprehensive than that of the Ghost Hall.

”We’ll talk about it later, it’s your turn now. Long Sixuan has been watching you all the time.” Feng Xun said playfully, glancing at Long Sixuan who was eyeing Ye Lingyue eagerly.

More than a hundred contestants had almost all handed over their Four Directions Tokens, with only Ye Lingyue and Long Sixuan remaining.

Ye Lingyue delayed because she had needed time to rest after competing in spiritual power with the Sifang City Lord, whereas Long Sixuan intentionally waited until the end.

It was clear that Long Sixuan was still anxious about Ye Lingyue’s Four Directions Tokens.

Even though Long Sixuan also thought it was unlikely for Ye Lingyue to turn defeat into victory without any Fierce Beasts left to hunt, he still worried that Ye Lingyue would make a comeback at the last moment.

However, Long Sixuan’s worry soon disappeared.

For when Ye Lingyue stepped forward, she only took out her one Four Directions Token and nothing more.

She only had one Four Directions Token?

Long Sixuan was obviously surprised.

Almost every contestant who had reached the gates of Sifang City had kept something in reserve; even the worst group held two tokens, yet Ye Lingyue only had one.

But with Ye Lingyue, his biggest rival, out of the picture, Long Sixuan’s heart finally settled.

He strode forward, took out a Qiankun Bag, and shook out forty or fifty Four Directions Tokens in one go, quickly forming a small mountain of tokens.

Seeing those Four Directions Tokens, the rest of the contestants turned pale.

The more tokens Long Sixuan had, it meant the more contestants he had killed along the way—at least forty or fifty people had died by his hand.

After collecting all the contestants’ Four Directions Tokens, the Four Great Ambassadors stepped forward to begin tallying.

Because there were many tokens and they needed to confirm the authenticity of each, the final tallying took a considerable amount of time. It wasn’t until midnight that the tally was complete.

The Four Directions Envoys each recorded the hunt counts of a hundred contestants, summed them up, and then reported to the Sifang City Lord.

The Sifang City Lord glanced at the list of the final fifty selected contestants, especially when he saw the top three names, his eyes flickered, but it was just a moment before he nodded.

”Ladies and gentlemen, the results of the five-day trial are now in my hands. I will announce the names starting with the fiftieth, and only the contestants who made it into the top fifty and their partners are permitted to enter Sifang City. Those not on the list, please leave on your own.”

After saying that, the Dong Envoy began to read out the list of fifty names.

Starting with the fiftieth, each name was announced one after the other.

Since many had hidden their Four Directions Tokens, there were significant differences between the final top fifty names and the list just announced at noon.

Those who qualified were bursting with joy, while those eliminated were disheartened.

Having reached the final ten names, the Mu siblings also moved up, with Mu Shuang securing the thirteenth place, and Mu Wu ranked eighth.

At this moment, the seventh place had just been announced.

Joy intensified on Long Sixuan’s face, because he noticed that ”Hei Xiaoling,” who was impersonating Long Baobao, was not in the top fifty.

At first, Long Sixuan found it strange, but then he remembered that Long Baobao hadn’t hunted any Fierce Beasts for the last day and a half.

Coupled with other contestants hiding their Four Directions Tokens, and even the fiftieth contestant accumulating nearly four hundred points, it was to be expected that Long Baobao didn’t make it into the top fifty.

Turning to look at Long Baobao, he stood to one side, head hung low, silent and appearing quite disappointed.

Thinking the young brat was more capable than he was, it seems he still lost miserably in the end.

If that old fogey Long Huai saw this moment, would he regret having foolishly chosen Long Baobao to be the future Family Head of the Long Family?

Once more looking at Ye Lingyue who stood calmly and unflustered, Long Sixuan secretly thought.

”It’s just a pity that I couldn’t kick out Long Baobao’s accomplice from the top fifty. But even if this woman has made it into the top fifty, it’s useless. When the official competition arrives, I’ll be able to take her down with various means. That will surely break Long Baobao’s heart. I want him to know that anyone associated with him will never have a good ending.”

At this time, the Dong Envoy had already read through most of the names, leaving only the top three undisclosed.

”The third place...” the Dong Envoy paused, ”Hei Yue.”

Hei Yue was third?

Long Sixuan’s smile faltered slightly. Could there be someone who scored higher than Hei Yue?

Impossible, had he missed a strong opponent?

Long Sixuan felt a twinge in his heart.

With the help of the Evil Spirit Bat, he had nearly locked in the whereabouts of other contestants a day and a half ahead of time, so the tallying of Sifang City shouldn’t be wrong.

While Long Sixuan was puzzled, the Dong Envoy announced the name of the second place.

”Second place, Long Sixuan.”

The name Long Sixuan, extremely familiar to him, hit Long Sixuan himself like a thunderbolt, leaving him dumbfounded.

He was second!

How could this be possible? He had gone through great lengths, and for the past day and a half, he had been relentlessly hunting without rest, not even sparing a single hair of a Fierce Beast. How could he only be second?

Who was it? Who the hell stole his first place?

Long Sixuan shook with agitation, itching to rush up and snatch the list from the Dong Envoy’s hands to see clearly who that damned first place was.

Just as he was about to lash out, the Dong Envoy’s lips parted and she was finally going to reveal the name of the first place.
