The System Granted Me Invincibility, Setting Me on the Path to Becoming the Heavenly Emperor

61: Ascend the throne and reclaim the territoryThe Power of Destruction lingered in the Void Realm for a long time.

In the Void Realm, Sheng Changfeng’s body and immortal soul were being torn apart by Sword Qi.

An unprecedented look of terror appeared in Sheng Changfeng’s eyes.

It really was just one sword strike!

Boom!

An Immortal Emperor has fallen!

A phenomenon began to appear, but Qin Gelan slashed his sword at it, shattering the phenomenon.

A man like Sheng Changfeng did not deserve The Heavens and earth to weep for him... In the imperial court, Qin Gelan sat atop the imperial throne, looking down at the officials.

Yun Yao stood beside the imperial throne as before, but the person on the imperial throne had changed from the Empress to Qin Gelan.

”Congratulations to the New Emperor on his accession! Long live the Emperor! Long live, long live!”

The Grand Secretariat led the shout, and the officials knelt one after another. Even the two Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperor experts, Zhang Heng and Zhao Long, knelt in submission.

”Congratulations to the New Emperor on his accession! Long live the Emperor! Long live, long live!”

The officials shouted in unison.

From this moment on, the ruler of the Shenxi Empire became Qin Gelan, known as Emperor Qin!

Although Qin Gelan had agreed to manage the imperial throne temporarily for the Empress, his strength was more than enough to suppress everything within the Empire.

Sitting on the imperial throne, Qin Gelan felt bored. He let the Empress’s trusted scribes handle the officials’ memorials.

After listening to the officials’ long-winded talk, Qin Gelan announced the dismissal of the court.

The imperial throne wasn’t as complicated as he had imagined. In this world, as long as you had the strength to suppress everything.

Any memorial or trivial matter could be left to trusted aides to decide and review.

Even if mistakes were made, there was overwhelming strength to suppress them; there was nothing that force couldn’t solve.

If there was, it just meant you weren’t strong enough.

Qin Gelan returned to the Imperial Palace. This place originally belonged to the Empress, but Qin Gelan now resided there.

Yun Yao said nothing; she already knew that the relationship between Qin Gelan and the Empress was not simple.

Half a year passed slowly, and Qin Gelan brought Yin Shengge to the Imperial Palace.

When Qin Gelan first left, he said the Empress had business with him. Now that Qin Gelan himself had become the ruler of the Shenxi Empire, Yin Shengge was caught somewhat off guard.

”My dear consort, since there’s nothing tonight, shall we go to the theater to listen to some music?” Qin Gelan looked at Yin Shengge and teased.

Yin Shengge gave Qin Gelan a charming roll of her eyes.

With Yun Yao still standing nearby, this guy didn’t know how to restrain himself. Yin Shengge was already thin-skinned, and now she was blushing even more.

Standing there, Yun Yao didn’t know whether to leave or stay, feeling extremely awkward.

”Ahem...”

Yun Yao coughed lightly, as if saying: ”I’m still a living person right here; is it really okay for you two to flirt like this?”

Qin Gelan stopped joking and looked at Yun Yao, saying, ”It’s time to take back the eight million miles of territory belonging to the Shenxi Empire.”

”You want to go to war with the Tianheng Empire?” Yun Yao frowned.

Currently, there was no Empress presiding over the Shenxi Empire. Although the Literary Sage had declared that no power should interfere with the Shenxi Empire.

But if they actively provoked trouble, the Shenxi Empire wouldn’t have justice on its side.

”The eight million miles of territory beyond the border originally belonged to my Shenxi Empire. Is it considered causing trouble to ask for our own things back?” Qin Gelan countered.

Listening to Qin Gelan’s words, Yun Yao felt something was off, yet they also made a lot of sense.

”Then what do you plan to do?” Yun Yao asked.

”Courtesy before force. We’ll talk reason first, and if reason doesn’t work, I happen to know a bit of martial arts.” Qin Gelan’s tone was calm but filled with confidence.

”You want to start a war?”

Yun Yao’s beautiful eyes widened; this was no small matter.

Yin Shengge was also somewhat shocked; an imperial war was no child’s play.

”Do you know why I am so fixated on these eight million miles of territory?” Qin Gelan sighed.

”Husband, is it not for the sake of the Shenxi Empire?” Yin Shengge spoke.

Qin Gelan shook his head, hands behind his back, looking toward the horizon, his eyes flashing with a sharp light.

”Xi Huang’s tribulation while Attaining the Dao served as a wake-up call for me,” Qin Gelan said slowly. ”If I had the strength to unify The Heavens, Xi Huang wouldn’t have faced such hardship.”

”Unify The Heavens...” Yun Yao looked at Qin Gelan’s back.

Could he be thinking... Yin Shengge’s gaze was also complex. Logically, as Qin Gelan’s wife, she should be jealous.

But she also understood that for an extraordinary person like Qin Gelan, the number of beauties around him would only increase.

”If Shengge or anyone else attains the Dao in the future, I don’t want this to happen again.” Qin Gelan’s expression was serious as he continued, ”Therefore, I must plan ahead. Xuanhuang Heaven is a very high starting point.”

Yin Shengge’s heart trembled; she hadn’t expected Qin Gelan’s ambition to be so vast, actually wanting to unify The Heavens.

Compared to other Planes, Xuanhuang Heaven indeed had a high starting point, being among the top ten in The Heavens.

With Qin Gelan’s talent, Attaining the Dao as a Supreme in the future, combined with the foundation and support of Xuanhuang Heaven, he might truly be able to fulfill this grand ambition.

Yun Yao looked at Qin Gelan’s back, hesitated for a moment, and asked, ”Do you think... Xuanhuang can... unify the world?”

”Unifying the world” didn’t refer to the world of Xuanhuang Heaven, but the world of all The Heavens, just like the Celestial Emperor of old and the rulers of The Heavens through the ages who unified The Heavens.

Qin Gelan turned around and said in an extremely certain tone, ”It can! But the key is whether one wants to or not.”

Upon hearing this, Yin Shengge faintly sensed the great hardships and dangers involved.

Walking to Qin Gelan’s side, she looked at him affectionately and whispered, ”No matter how dangerous the path is, I will accompany you to the end.”

Qin Gelan smiled. With a wife like this, what more could a husband ask for?

”It’s still too early to talk about this. Let’s deal with the Tianheng Empire first.” Qin Gelan set aside his thoughts and spoke of the present.

”How do you plan to implement this ’courtesy before force’ you mentioned?” Yun Yao asked.

Qin Gelan gave an enigmatic smile and said, ”Asking the Tianheng Empire to return the territory—they certainly won’t agree. So the ’courtesy’ is just a pretext; it will eventually come to a fight.”

”The Tianheng Empire has an Immortal Emperor Ninth Heaven expert presiding over it.” Yun Yao was somewhat worried.

”An Immortal Emperor Ninth Heaven, huh...” Qin Gelan pondered, then said, ”An Immortal Emperor Ninth Heaven is not yet a Supreme, so there’s nothing to fear. Leave it to me.”

Qin Gelan’s words settled it, as if an Immortal Emperor Ninth Heaven was no big deal.

Although she believed Qin Gelan wouldn’t fight a battle he wasn’t sure of winning, Yun Yao still hesitated. ”Did the Supreme behind you leave you with means to deal with an Immortal Emperor Ninth Heaven expert?”

Previously, when Qin Gelan used the strongest immortal emperor card, Yun Yao hadn’t paid close attention. She thought he had barely managed to survive the Extreme Dao Supreme Being’s strike because of some Supreme’s method.

Furthermore, that Extreme Dao Supreme Being had attacked from across The Heavens and hadn’t used his full power.

This way, it could be explained.

Yin Shengge also looked at Qin Gelan, her beautiful eyes filled with concern. ”Husband...”

Seeing both women looking worried, Qin Gelan smiled. ”Don’t worry, I’m not that foolish. Since I said I can deal with an Immortal Emperor Ninth Heaven, I naturally have the means.”

Hearing Qin Gelan say this, Yun Yao nodded, thinking he must truly be confident.

Immediately, Qin Gelan issued an order.

”Recall all Immortal Emperor experts to the Empire. Prepare to march against Tianheng!”
