The System Granted Me Invincibility, Setting Me on the Path to Becoming the Heavenly Emperor

59: The new emperor of the Divine Dawn EmpireAfter Qin Gelan emerged, he informed the Literary Sage and Yun Yao of the Empress’s condition.

After hearing this, both sighed in relief, but upon learning that the Empress had fallen in Realm and needed Nirvana to return to the Supreme Realm, they grew worried again.

Especially Yun Yao. She had followed the Empress since childhood. Although she was publicly known as the Empress’s Personal Divine General, the Empress always treated her like a younger sister.

It could be said that their relationship was like that of a master and an elder sister.

After visiting Yin Shengge, the Literary Sage returned to Book Mountain, issuing an external warning that no power was allowed to plot against the Shenxi Empire.

With the Literary Sage having spoken, all the major powers that had been stirring became quiet.

Now that the Empress was not personally overseeing the Empire, if other powers attacked, Yun Yao alone would not be able to hold them off.

The next day, the Empress summoned Yun Yao.

When Yun Yao reappeared, she announced that the Shenxi Empire had temporarily established a New Emperor.

The New Emperor was none other than Qin Gelan.

Over the past two days, Qin Gelan had consumed emperor pills one after another, finally recovering, and his sickly appearance finally faded.

Inside the Imperial Palace, Qin Gelan sat cross-legged—he was about to Breakthrough his Realm!

Over the past six months, constantly transferring Origin to the Empress, recovering, and then transferring again in this cycle, Qin Gelan’s Realm had also loosened.

Boom~

A powerful Qi spread out from within Qin Gelan’s body: Second Heaven of Immortal Emperor!

This was the first time Qin Gelan had achieved a Realm Breakthrough by himself, and this feeling was quite wonderful.

Previously, relying on the System for Realm Breakthroughs, he never had this feeling... In the Imperial Court, all the major civil and military officials had arrived, including seven Fifth Heaven of Immortal Emperor Realm experts.

One of them was someone Qin Gelan had met before: Luo Daoyang, previously of the Qin Family. (To help everyone recall: the one who acted as an intermediary when Qi Huan of the Hall of Gods pressured the Qin Family.)

There were also three Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperors standing on both sides of the Main Hall.

Qin Gelan, dressed in a Purple-Gold Dragon Robe, slowly walked towards the Imperial Seat, about to sit down.

”Wait!”

At this moment, one of the Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperor officials spoke up.

”You are not worthy of this position,” Zhang Heng sneered.

Qin Gelan looked at Zhang Heng and wasn’t surprised. Given his strength, many would be unconvinced, and he knew someone would surely obstruct him from taking the imperial throne.

The civil and military officials present watched this scene without interfering, suggesting they had planned this beforehand.

”How dare you! Qin Gelan is the New Emperor designated by the Empress. Are you defying the Empress’s command?”

Yun Yao scolded him. Since the Empress had entrusted the Empire to Qin Gelan, she naturally had to protect him.

”Then what do you propose?” Qin Gelan waved his hand, stopping Yun Yao, and countered.

”The Empress was able to sit on the imperial throne because no one questioned her strength, and you, clearly, are not worthy.” Another Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperor official also spoke.

”That’s right. Unless you possess the Empress’s strength, we will not bow to you as the New Emperor.”

In the Imperial Court, the three Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperor experts—Zhang Heng, Zhao Long, and Sheng Changfeng—spoke one after another.

”Audacious! Are you planning a rebellion?” Yun Yao’s beautiful eyes flashed with killing intent as she looked at the three men.

The Qi pressure of a Seventh Heaven Immortal Emperor bore down upon the three men.

Feeling Yun Yao’s pressure, the three men remained unfazed. Zhang Heng slowly said, ”General Yun, there is no need to label us. His cultivation is simply not enough to make us willingly submit. We will apologize to the Empress later.”

Hearing Zhang Heng’s words, Yun Yao took a step forward, ready to strike, but Qin Gelan stopped her.

Qin Gelan chuckled softly, ”You think too highly of yourself. Today, when I take this imperial throne, what I demand is not your willing submission, but that you must kneel!”

”I am now the Emperor of the Shenxi Empire. If you refuse to kneel, I will simply break your legs and force you to kneel.”

Zhang Heng sneered, ”Based on you?”

”Yun Yao, break his legs and make him kneel before me!” Qin Gelan commanded coldly, radiating the dominance of a ruler over the world.

”Yes!”

Yun Yao, holding her Long Spear, charged toward Zhang Heng.

Zhang Heng’s expression changed. He hadn’t expected Qin Gelan to actually order Yun Yao to strike; this was not playing by the rules.

He had assumed Qin Gelan would act himself for the sake of his dignity.

With his Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperor cultivation, he could easily teach the other party a lesson, forcing Qin Gelan to retreat in the face of difficulty.

Yun Yao was a High-Rank Immortal Emperor, a world of difference from a Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperor. After a few rounds, Zhang Heng was subdued by Yun Yao.

Yun Yao held the immobilized Zhang Heng, awaiting Qin Gelan’s command.

”Kneel before me!” Qin Gelan shouted coldly. He paused, then continued, ”As the saying goes, the Emperor’s word is law. Since I just said I would break his legs, we will break his legs first, and then make him kneel.”

A streak of Spiritual Power shattered Zhang Heng’s legs, forcing him to kneel prostrate on the ground.

Zhang Heng’s face was flushed crimson. A wave of humiliation washed over him, and he glared fiercely at Qin Gelan.

The expressions of the others also changed slightly. Qin Gelan’s actions were somewhat unpopular.

”I give you the time of three breaths to withdraw that gaze. If that look remains after three breaths, I will kill you and Exterminate Nine Generations.”

Qin Gelan looked down upon Zhang Heng, his eyes filled with indifference.

Zhang Heng saw Qin Gelan’s emotionless eyes, and his heart trembled slightly. He immediately lowered his head, having no doubt about Qin Gelan’s resolve at this moment.

Faced with dignity and life, he chose to live.

”All you ministers present, listen carefully. Whether you submit or not, today is not about reasoning with you.”

”It is about: if the sovereign wishes the subject to die, the subject must die. If I demand you kneel, you must kneel. If I give you a way out, you must take it!”

Qin Gelan paced around the Imperial Seat, looked at the officials, and continued, ”Now, if you want to work, then work. If not, then scram. It will be convenient for me to cultivate my own trusted aides.”

These words were extremely blunt, without any concealment.

Ask them to resign and retire? None of them were willing. Being a minister in the Shenxi Empire was a very prominent status.

They couldn’t bear to give it up.

”Even if you hold the imperial throne, you cannot act against the proper order. When the Empress was here...” An old minister spoke up.

Swish~

Before the words were finished, a flash of Sword Light swept past, and the old minister’s body was instantly torn apart into a mist of blood by the Sword Qi.

”Do any of my Beloved Ministers have any other opinions? Please speak freely.” Qin Gelan displayed a harmless smile.

”I refuse to submit!” A minister just opened his mouth.

Swish~

A flash of Sword Light swept past again, instantly turning him into a mist of blood.

”Anyone else?” Qin Gelan continued to smile.

”You are committing such slaughter, this is not...”

Another one was obliterated by Sword Qi.

”You...”

Yet another one.

None of the ministers dared to speak now, cold sweat dripping from their foreheads.

Even the Immortal Emperors present didn’t dare to speak.

This guy kills anyone who opposes him. They had no doubt that if they all objected, Qin Gelan could slaughter every minister present.

”Speak up, who else?” Qin Gelan played with the jade flute that Heaven’s Inch had transformed into.

All the ministers were silent with fear, looking at Qin Gelan with terror.

Speak up? Who would dare speak up now?

Wasn’t that seeking death?

They feared that the moment a single word popped out, they would be blasted into a mist of blood by the Sword Qi.

Qin Gelan nodded in satisfaction. Seeing that no one objected anymore, he turned his gaze toward Sheng Changfeng, a Sixth Heaven Immortal Emperor.

”Sheng Changfeng, Marshal of the Empire’s Border, do you know that you are guilty of a capital offense?”
