Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 442: Chapter 14: Survival is Difficult

A faint stench wafted from beneath his feet, the red soil seemed to have been soaked in blood.

All the vegetation growing in the Red Soil Area was unusually tall, the grass lush, while a few large trees in the distance stood several dozen meters high.

Bubu Wang walked slowly in the Red Soil Area, no longer as exuberant as before.

Su Xiao looked back with lingering fear, that centipede hidden in the earth was terrifying. If he hadn’t sensed a strange sense of crisis, he would have been swallowed whole.

No map, no bearings, food lost, fresh water enough for a day at most.

The food was lost during the parachute jump because Bubu Wang carried the parachute pack and held the food in its mouth, later losing it during negotiations with the Black Hawk.

Grumbling~.

Bubu Wang turned to look at Su Xiao, its gaze clearly saying: ’Master, I’m hungry.’

”Hold it in, we just ate on the plane, it’s only been an hour, with your body fat, you can go two days without eating.”

Bubu Wang’s fat could indeed sustain it for two days, but that requires having fresh water.

The fresh water is enough for Su Xiao and Bubu Wang to drink for a day. Bubu Wang can hold out for two days, but Su Xiao cannot.

It’s not that he’s pampered, but he needs to fight, and fighting consumes a lot of stamina.

Su Xiao doesn’t have high-calorie food, those small, high-calorie foods are usually White quality and extremely rare.

Contractors who get that kind of food keep it for emergencies; no one would sell it.

In the backpack behind Su Xiao is a large portion of roasted meat, it’s food, but it’s also a healing item.

[Sauce Roasted Meat]

Quality: Green

Type: Healing Item

Effect: Restores 80% of Life Value and recovers minor injuries within half an hour after consumption.

Rating: 21

Introduction: 1900 Paradise coin

...

Healing items can also fill the stomach. Unless absolutely necessary, Su Xiao won’t eat this stuff.

This shows the importance of intelligence. If he’d known food was so valuable, he would have bought a lot of healing food.

No one would leak such confidential information about survival trials; it would only be shared within an adventure group.

What to do without food? Is there still need to ask? Of course, you go and rob.

It can be foreseen that in the next ten days, food and fresh water will become the main reasons for contractors to start wars.

The trial has ten days left. Without food, Su Xiao’s combat strength will only last two days; after two days, he will grow increasingly weak.

The grassland of the Red Soil Area stretched endlessly. It was unclear how far they had walked forward, but Su Xiao vaguely heard the sound of water. Where there’s water, there’s food!

”Bubu, stop.”

Su Xiao listened carefully in the direction of the water sound. After entering the Red Soil Area, perception became untrustworthy because that giant centipede could mislead perception, so what was perceived might not be real.

The sound of water came from the left, and Bubu Wang quickly ran to the left.

Not far after running, a small river appeared.

This small river flowed between the grassland, with half-human high grass growing nearby.

Buzz~.

A bee flew by. This bee was quite large, about the size of a thumb.

This thing can be eaten, Su Xiao could confirm. He had seen this kind of bee on Earth, although much smaller.

The bee’s flying speed was fast. If the nerve reflex speed is not enough, one absolutely can’t catch this ’little guy.’

Su Xiao’s hand rested on the hilt of Dragon Slash, and with a flash of the blade, the bee’s wings were sliced off.

Carefully pinching the falling bee, Su Xiao didn’t want to try the poison sting of this ’little guy’; being stung would definitely not be pleasant.

Pinching off the bee’s head and removing its innards, Su Xiao directly tossed the bee into his mouth, leaving Bubu Wang dumbfounded.

Though the bee was raw, it tasted surprisingly good, very chewy.

”You want some?”

Su Xiao looked at Bubu Wang, who quickly shook its head, retreating two steps.

Su Xiao inwardly lamented the waste of a delicacy; this kind of bee was a terrestrial delicacy almost extinct on Earth.

This kind of bee appeared four times in total, Su Xiao only caught two, the other two flew too fast.

Seizing every opportunity to replenish energy, Su Xiao consumed a lot of energy daily.

Parting the water grass, a rapid stream appeared.

The stream water was clear, but Su Xiao wasn’t deceived by its appearance. He took out a transparent empty water bottle and filled it with some river water.

Holding the bottle up, the clear river water changed color in the sunlight, faintly tinged with red.

Countless parasites floated in the river water; drinking it would make not dying difficult, more terrifying than poison.

There’s no hope for clean fresh water, and the likelihood of finding food is also slim.

A shadow streaked across the water, and Su Xiao suddenly burst forth, stabbing into the water with his Dragon Slash.

Squeak~.

A strange cry echoed, and Su Xiao raised a strange fish from the water with Dragon Slash.

The strange fish was about half a meter long, with a big head and small body, covered with many ’passengers.’

Even without Su Xiao’s strike, this strange fish wouldn’t live long, with at least dozens of parasitic creatures on its body.

Throwing the big fish back into the water, even starving, Su Xiao wouldn’t eat it; doing so would lead to a quicker death.

A severe issue emerged; the water in the Red Soil Area was undrinkable, and slain creatures were inedible.

Taking out a compass, Su Xiao had bought this for 600 Paradise coins, with the vendor claiming: ’This thing can guide you even in outer space.’

Unfortunately, this so-called White Quality Compass, claimed to work in outer space, had failed, now merely spinning like an electric fan.

Su Xiao looked up at the sun, blazing bright in the sky. Today was a good day.

Finding a wooden stick, he stuck it into the ground, sunlight casting a shadow, and placed a small stone at the shadow’s tip.

Taking out a pocket watch, Su Xiao waited ten minutes. The shadow moved slightly, so he placed another stone at the shadow’s tip.

Connecting the two stones on the ground, the direction was obtained.

”That might be East and West....”

This was Earth’s way of determining direction. Su Xiao wasn’t sure if it applied here, since it was uncertain which way the sun rose on this broken star.

Confirming the position, Su Xiao searched the surroundings for stones and tree branches, stacking them together to form a coordinate, ensuring he could travel in a straight line.

Having a direction and landmark, Su Xiao rode on Bubu Wang to travel.

The priority now was leaving the Red Soil Area, which was wholly a life forbidden zone, with terrifying spontaneous creatures, undrinkable river water, and scarce food.

Don’t mention surviving ten days here; living two days would already be immensely lucky.

After riding Bubu Wang a distance, the previous coordinates vanished from view, so Su Xiao determined direction again and set new coordinates.

After repeating this five times, Su Xiao finally reached the end of the grassland. The endless green disappeared, revealing a winding mountainous terrain ahead.

This mountainous area wasn’t steep, with rocks faintly tinged red, indicating he hadn’t left the Red Soil Area yet.

Soon after entering the mountains, Su Xiao made a discovery; he found a pile of charcoal remnants.
