Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 983: Chapter 977: Going to Watch the Annual Fish Catching _1

The next day, Qin Xue naturally woke up. She stirred when the rooster crowed for the first time outside but fell asleep again after turning over. By the time she woke up again, it was broad daylight.

“Woke up? Come and eat.” Chu Molin saw his wife had awakened when he returned to their room, so he called her to get up and eat.

“Ok, where are mom and dad?” Qin Xue asked Chu Molin as she was dressing.

“They have gone off to do business.” Chu Molin had returned home after helping his mother-in-law to open the shop, which means he had already been out and returned.

“They work so hard, even in their old age.” Hearing this, Qin Xue was silent for a moment before speaking.

“They chose to do so, having something to do is also good. I saw that their business is good, I wanted to help them there, but Dad said they have hired a few lads to help so they didn’t need me. So, he asked me to return home to see if there was anything that needed to be taken care of. Although it’s tiring this way, the money earned is better than farming, and farming is even more exhausting, right?” Chu Molin handed her a coat and spoke to her.

“You’re right, to each its own. Running a business is indeed much better than farming. As long as they are happy that’s all that matters. After all, when Xiao Yu and Lele finish studying, they probably won’t have to work so hard.” Qin Xue extended her arms for Chu Molin to help her put on her coat, then she smiled.

“Alright, let’s go out. Lele is cooking, Fang Xiu is looking after the three kids, so they are just missing you. Lele said Grandpa and Grandma will be coming home later.” Chu Molin took his wife’s hand and left the room.

“Why didn’t you call me earlier?” Qin Xue frowned, all the children were up and only she, an adult, was still sleeping. If people knew about it, they would surely laugh at her.

“We couldn’t, everyone in the family said to let you sleep a bit longer. How could I wake you?” Chu Molin recalled the words they said to him when he got up to help his father-in-law. They told him to keep his voice low and not to wake up Qin Xue. Then when he got home, they said if Qin Xue hadn’t had enough sleep, just keep her meals warm in the pot and wait for her to get up to eat. Chu Molin was left speechless, for this family cherished his wife more than he did.

Fortunately, he shared the same thought, he wanted his wife to rest a bit more, so he was happy to hear that. Had it been someone else, they might not think the same way.

“Hehe.” Qin Xue only laughed and said nothing in response.

“Sis, you are up! Come and eat. We are going to go out and play, do you want to come?” Qin Jiale asked her sister.

“Where are you going to play?” Qin Xue asked her sister after brushing her teeth.

“We’re going to watch the village catch the New Year’s fish.” Qin Jiale said, every year the village would catch fish to distribute. Before, due to the need to contribute labour points, people received fewer fish. But now, they could receive more, and it was a lively scene to watch. Her real intention was to let those who bad-mouthed her sister for favoring her own family over her husband’s family see that not only her sister came home for the New Year, but her brother-in-law also came. At that time, she wanted to see who dared still talked ill of her.

“Alright.” Qin Xue also wanted to see what this village was like. It was too dark when they arrived last night to see anything, so she decided to go and take a closer look today.

“Fantastic, Fang Xiu, do you want to come too?” After asking her sister, Qin Jiale asked Fang Xiu. It wouldn’t be good if they all left and Fang Xiu was the only one left at home.

“Yeah, I’d like to see what your village is like, if it’s the same as ours.” Fang Xiu agreed, jotting down her response with a pen and paper.

“Our village is generally quite good, except for a few rotten apples that spoil the atmosphere.” Thinking of those troublemakers in the village, Qin Jiale felt speechless. If it weren’t for them, her sister’s reputation wouldn’t have suffered so much.
