From Arsenal to the Ball God

”It’s so shocking!”

Mertesacker never imagined this clearance could turn into an assist, nor did he think Ma’el could get past the Sheffield United players. He rushed up and tackled Ma’el with a flying shoulder.

The other Arsenal players who came from behind mostly jumped up and piled on the two of them. Since Ma’el was embarrassed to celebrate, they pressed him down, preventing the fans from seeing his face.

”And it’s in again!!”

In the broadcast room, Zhan Jun was stunned for a long time before continuing: ”An astonishing goal! At this moment, the aircraft carrier revved to the maximum, cruising uncontrollably in its own waters, unable to find an opponent!”

”This is an extremely brilliant goal! Ma’el received the ball outside the penalty area and sprinted over 70 meters to execute a dragon-style goal!”

”Five to zero! On December 31st, the last day of 2011! The last game of the half-season! Is he going to challenge for the Puskás Award?”

”We all know Ma’el has scored some goals this season that have been hotly debated as Puskás candidates, but this goal obviously hits harder!”

”Without a significant opponent, this might really happen. Is he going to use his former club as a backdrop?”

He smiled as Ma’el really didn’t hold back at all, this was a full-on attack.

...

On the field, the defensive line led by Luton turned around simultaneously, hands on hips, as the ball hit the net.

They looked resentfully at the midfield, questioning with anger.

”Why didn’t you foul?!”

”When he started accelerating, foul him! Why be so courteous?”

”Damn it!”

”Pillar of shame!”

Janu and a group of midfielders also ran back now, panting heavily, bending down with hands on knees to recover their strength.

Listening to the defenders’ complaints, they couldn’t utter any grievances and could only hang their heads low.

This goal scored by Ma’el was a huge blow to the team... they should have tactically fouled him at the start, getting a yellow card would have been fine.

”Gulp.” Janu swallowed, looking toward Ma’el wearing the Arsenal away kit on the field side, who was already up and celebrating with teammates.

”Hey!” He sighed heavily, a sense of defeat swelling in his heart.

Evans on the frontline also returned now, having chased back all along, but just was too far away.

Standing beside Janu, he shook his head and lamented, ”Too fast, really too fast, I couldn’t close any distance at all when he ran with the ball.”

”It felt like in an instant, he ran from Arsenal’s penalty area to ours.”

Janu didn’t want to speak initially, but eventually said: ”The gap is too big, he now makes every opponent tremble.”

On the sidelines, at the coach seats.

Garrispeed returned to his seat, head down, picking his fingers, not daring to look at the field.

Zero to five!

So brutal!

”What a goal.”

Beside him, Jorson’s expression wasn’t too good either, but he still said: ”The pinnacle of speed and physique, the pinnacle of ball control, the pinnacle of speed variation!”

”Weren’t you going to tell him a secret? I feel Arsenal has a shot at the championship this season, just tell him directly.”

Garrispeed knew Jorson was mocking him, he pursed his lips speechlessly, thinking now is not the time for this, ”Stop it, think about how to face McCabe’s wrath.”

”Wrath?” Jorson turned his head, ”19 rounds, 6 wins, 5 draws, what’s there to be angry about? With this little investment, just focus on staying up.”

Garrispeed no longer spoke, sitting on the chair, staring at the back of Ma’el for a long time without coming to his senses.

If he were still a Sheffield United player, he could score 28 goals in a season for the team, and provide 8 assists... not just stay up, but could even hope to enter the European competition zone.

”Beep! Beep! Beep——!”

Not long after, the main referee blew the final whistle to end the match, ending the Sheffield people’s nightmare finally.

Many directly collapsed on the ground, their chests heaving heavily, not wanting to return to the undoubtedly oppressive atmosphere in the locker room immediately.

Garrispeed came to the sideline, shaking Wenger’s hand, smiling bitterly: ”I praised Arsenal and Ma’el on an interview, didn’t expect you to go so hard.”

Wenger spread his hands apologetically, ”Sometimes, when some players are on fire, I can’t stop them.”

He couldn’t help but laugh, ”Just like that goal earlier, five or six people couldn’t stop him, how could I stop him?”

Hearing this joke, Garrispeed initially wanted to laugh, but couldn’t.

...

Ma’el heard the final whistle, rested for a moment, then went to the sidelines to thank the Arsenal fans.

”Dang dang dang dang!”

The familiar song echoed above, all implying beauty.

wins, 3 draws, 51 points at the half-season mark, capturing the half-season championship undefeated!

He also led Van Persie by 4 goals, sitting firmly at the top of the scorer’s list!

”Is there a half-season best in the Premier League?” During the thank-you ceremony, he asked Van Persie beside him, ”I don’t seem to have heard of it?”

”No.”

Van Persie shook his head, ”But the media and fans will elect someone, don’t worry, many will choose you.”

”Haha...” Ma’el laughed, unexpectedly feeling a bit uncomfortable, ”Since coming to the Premier League, I found the gap between top players is so small, it’s hard to play an absolutely phenomenal season.”

”In the Championship, I already had a noticeable dominance at the half-season point, pulling ahead of other scorers and passers.”
