From Arsenal to the Ball God

Chapter 73: Chapter 10: Short Transmission Level 3! Preliminary Formation of the Therapist Team! [5/5]_2

”A match we absolutely cannot lose.”

Knowing this, he sat steadily on the bench, watching the match to save energy for the next round.

Just like Garrispeed expected, Swansea’s desire to win wasn’t strong at all, the second half was even duller than the first.

In the end, Bolodanovich’s goal turned out to be the winning goal.

Sheffield United secured an easy victory at home, earning their 6th point of the month.

......

Two days later, under Evan’s introduction, Ma’el met with a physical therapist who had worked with several Premier League players. They met at a café.

Finding a more effective way to relieve fatigue has always been his pursuit.

This can significantly speed up his physical recovery, reduce the risk of injury, and allow him more energy and time to work on increasing his Skill Level.

This means he must be willing to invest in this aspect and strive to find an excellent team of physical therapists!

”Harry.”

This was a middle-aged man around forty, sporting a beard, but with a surprisingly gentle demeanor. ”I’ve watched many of your games and learned about your daily habits from Evans.

”First of all, I express my respect; you’re an incredible player, naturally gifted yet demanding on yourself. I look forward to seeing you become the next Cristiano Ronaldo.”

He extended his hand to shake with Ma’el and continued, ”As I mentioned on the phone, your main requirement is to relieve fatigue through changes in diet and massage?”

Ma’el nodded, explaining his habits in detail: ”I only have about 3 days of rest each month, the rest are all extra training days.

”The only difference is, after a match day, when my body is extremely tired, I do a bit less training; on ordinary days, when I’m moderately tired, I train more.”

As he said this, he smiled slightly. There was a hint of pride as he earnestly explained this to others, even he admired himself a bit.

”How many hours do you usually train additionally?” Harry’s eyes moved slightly, asking carefully.

”4-6 hours.”

Ma’el shrugged his shoulders in response, jokingly added, ”Many players only work 2-3 hours a day, but I maintain an 8-hour work schedule, sometimes even an additional 2-hour overtime during team strategy meetings.”

”That’s excessive.”

Harry was surprised that someone would push themselves so hard, shaking his head, ”Training like this presents a high risk of injury. It’s only because you’re young now that the problems aren’t evident.

”Have you learned anything about physical therapy?”

”No, I know almost nothing about it,” Ma’el answered truthfully. Apart from changing his diet once early on, he hadn’t learned anything about this field.

”Allow me to explain.”

Harry brought out a document he prepared for job-seeking, ”I mentioned Cristiano earlier for a reason; his team of therapists is the most comprehensive.

”It includes personal nutritionists, personal doctors, masseuses, various therapists, etc.

”These people provide all-round services, formulating detailed and regular plans to keep his body in the best condition at all times.”

Ma’el found these concepts intriguing upon hearing them.

But hearing about so many types, he could already imagine the huge expense of maintaining such a team.

And this isn’t even the full extent; as his influence grows in the future, he would inevitably need a PR team, a personal fan community management team, etc.

But..... reaching that level, perhaps he would have become a money-making machine and wouldn’t lack money.

Considering it from another perspective, if he could maintain a talented team, having all these top professionals serve him alone, enhancing his personal value, looking after his health, and ensuring his performance on the field.

Doesn’t seem too bad, does it?

He did have some anticipation for that day, but for now: ”I might not be able to form such a comprehensive team just yet.”

”I understand.”

Harry showed no other expression, introducing himself, ”My specialty is human movement science, with a focus on fatigue recovery and injury prevention.

”If you’re willing to hire me, I would provide you with 2 muscle massages each day after training, each session lasting 1.5 hours.

”I would also devise a detailed recovery training plan; you may need to spend an extra half hour a day in my training session.”

He thought for a moment, recommending, ”In fact, I have a great partner, my sister... It may seem like nepotism, but she truly is an outstanding nutritionist.

”We worked together at Chelsea, then moved to Fulham, and later served as private therapists to four Premier League players.

”She was universally praised, players spoke highly of her. She always understood everything about players, knew their current needs, and prepared thoroughly in advance.

”On top of ensuring balanced nutrition, she could accommodate players’ taste preferences.”

After hearing him out, Ma’el asked the most crucial question: ”What about your salary requirements? I mean, for both of you together?”

”Since we’re private therapists.”

Harry adjusted his posture, laying the groundwork, ”We need to rent near the player’s neighborhood, be player-oriented, stay focused without distractions, be prepared to work overtime at any time, etc.”

After laying the groundwork, he stated the key point: ”My previous weekly pay as a therapist was 1800 pounds, and now I’ve improved, so I hope for a 2000-pound salary.

”As for my sister, she can earn slightly less, at 1500 pounds, including the cost of various ingredients.”

pounds a week... Ma’el felt a twinge, a slight sting in his flesh, as his post-tax weekly pay was only 6000 pounds, needing a raise for it to increase further.

This really isn’t something an ordinary Championship player can afford, and even some Premier League players might not spend this money.

But he wasn’t worried about being deceived, having checked on the going rates beforehand. Indeed, good therapists were at this price range.

”Trial period for 2 months.”

After hesitating, Ma’el agreed. He desperately needed therapists and was willing to invest in himself, ”I’ll offer full salary as a gesture of hope for pleasant collaboration in the future. If effective, I’ll willingly raise your pay later.”

He hired two people, which was a starting point for having his own team, and he tried his hand at painting a bright picture like a boss.

In all honesty, if they significantly help him, he truly intends to raise their pay.

”I hope we won’t disappoint you.”

Harry stood up with a smile, his affection for Ma’el increasing, ”I am confident.”

An employer who doesn’t haggle and is willing to trust employees indeed tends to garner goodwill.
