Hijacking the Timeline

However, recruiting talent from Future City was clearly not an option at this stage.

Before fully securing control of Star City, such a move might alert the enemy.

The Black Shadow Faction behind the Technology Research Institute would undoubtedly notice the steady stream of talent draining from Future City. They might even trace the trail back to the Dawn Organization.

Feng Qi wasn’t afraid of the Black Shadow Faction.

With Mu Qing holding the line, one person was as good as an army. As long as the Black Shadow Faction didn’t unleash Little Black, what was there to fear?

Still, he believed it was best to proceed cautiously during the Dawn Organization’s early stages. To ensure long-term success, they needed to wait until they had completely secured their grip on Star City.

In addition to this, Feng Qi possessed a list of talented individuals within Star City.

This list originated from the previous timeline, during his time controlling the Tiger Soul Research Institute.

The targets on the list were members of the Nightshadow Clan, originally intended for mental manipulation by the clan.

The list contained only a few dozen names, far fewer than the talent list provided by Li Xingchen.

However, it could still provide significant assistance to the Dawn Organization’s early development.

Particularly noteworthy was a man on the list named Tian Shu.

Ranked first on the list of potential talents, he was currently imprisoned deep underground at the Tiger Soul Research Institute’s branch base. Within the institute, he was classified as top-secret, with even the institute itself unaware of his true origins.

The Nightshadow Clan had attempted to mentally control him, but their usually infallible mental manipulation techniques proved utterly ineffective against him.

Frustrated, they were forced to continue his confinement in the deepest recesses of the branch base.

In the previous timeline, by accessing classified data from the Tiger Soul Research Institute, he had learned some of Tian Shu’s secrets but never made contact.

After all, the main objective of the villain arc wasn’t to unearth human geniuses.

For such an uncontrollable human, there was no need to make a special trip to engage with him.

Even if he had made contact, he would never have chosen to release him.

This battle line had no such concerns, and Feng Qi felt that Tian Shu might bring him a pleasant surprise.

But first, he needed to secure control of Star City and stabilize the situation within.

After returning to Star City Academy, Feng Qi began formulating his next plan.

Now that the Nightshadow Clan had been completely purged, the next target was clear: the numerous Domain Weakling Alliance members entrenched within Star City.

Information from his previous villain arc once again proved invaluable.

After seizing control of the Tiger Soul Research Institute, the Lord of the Mist had targeted the Domain Weakling Alliance to consolidate his grip on Star City.

He ultimately reached an agreement with the alliance’s leadership by providing resources, thereby gaining control of their intelligence network.

As the Lord of the Mist had observed at the time:

While the Domain Weakling Alliance could be exploited, it was undoubtedly a double-edged sword.

Using them offered significant advantages in shaping the future, but they would readily sell information about their allies for profit.

External forces could easily learn about Star City’s internal affairs simply by paying for the information.

To truly control Star City, these inherent risks posed by the Domain Weakling Alliance had to be eliminated.

The Lord of the Mist had faced two options at the time.

First, to completely eradicate the Domain Weakling Alliance through brutal methods.

However, achieving this was no easy task.

The Domain Weakling Alliance was like a handful of loose sand, composed of warriors from various Weak Domain Races. It functioned more like a mercenary organization platform, lacking a central commander with absolute authority.

The alliance’s leaders were more like the platform’s founders than its controllers, lacking decisive command authority.

Just as the Black Shadow Faction behind the Technology Research Institute had struggled to completely eliminate the Dawn Organization, facing such a fragmented enemy made total eradication extremely difficult.

While a bloody suppression would inevitably shatter the Domain Weakling Alliance, its warriors would remain embedded within Star City. Though their systematic organization would collapse, drastically reducing their operational efficiency, the underlying threat would persist.

These scattered Domain Weakling Warriors could still transmit intelligence to external parties.

Given a high enough price, they might even dare to infiltrate the Tiger Soul Research Institute, as these warriors were essentially desperate outlaws.

Second, to first demonstrate their power through bloody suppression, then use negotiations to seize control of the Domain Weakling Alliance’s intelligence network.

Although the Domain Weakling Alliance was merely a platform, as long as it remained intact, all intelligence exchange would continue to flow through it.

Controlling the Domain Weakling Alliance was equivalent to controlling the source of intelligence.

This option undoubtedly offered the greatest value for the least cost.

Considering all angles, the Lord of the Mist in the previous timeline ultimately chose to control the Domain Weakling Alliance’s high command, using his control over the intelligence network to dominate the entire alliance.

All missions would first pass through his hands before being distributed to the Weakling Clan Alliance’s outposts within Star City.

This was a truly ingenious move.

For example, the Dark God Race had repeatedly issued missions to investigate intelligence within Star City. However, before these missions could reach the hands of Weakling Clan Warriors, they were intercepted by the Weakling Clan Alliance’s high command and delivered to the Lord of the Mist, who promptly quashed them.

Ultimately, the Dark God Race’s patriarch had to personally lead his clansmen on a risky infiltration mission into Star City to conduct their investigation.

Although the Lord of the Mist had stated that he would eventually eradicate the Domain Weakling Alliance root and branch, controlling the Weakling Clan Alliance’s intelligence network was undoubtedly the optimal choice during the early stages of developing the Tiger Soul Research Institute.

During his time controlling the Domain Weakling Alliance, the Lord of the Mist had obtained the coordinates of all the alliance’s branches within Star City from its high command.

The Lord of the Mist had voluntarily shared this intelligence with him.

Naturally, he wouldn’t let such vital information go to waste, memorizing all the coordinates.

At the time, he knew he wouldn’t need this information himself, but he was certain his counterparts in other timelines would find it useful.

Now, this intelligence had fallen into his hands.

It would become a crucial tool for resolving the Domain Weakling Alliance’s threat.

He now faced the same two choices the Lord of the Mist had:

Eradicate the Domain Weakling Alliance or control it.

Before initiating the battle plan, he had carefully considered this dilemma and ultimately decided to follow the Lord of the Mist’s path, choosing the second option.

Once the Dawn Organization grew strong enough, he would consider completely eliminating the Domain Weakling Alliance from Star City.

As for how to execute the plan to control the Weakling Clan Alliance, he saw no difficulty.

No elaborate strategy was needed; he simply had to replicate what the Lord of the Mist had already done.

After all, who couldn’t copy someone else’s homework?
