Naruto: Kage of Kages

Operation start!

With the signal given, every group launched into motion.

Benihime opened her Shuigan, red dust swirling around her form as her concealment abilities activated.

The main door was unguarded from the outside.

After all, having a guard posted there would be the same as announcing there was something of note in that location and, as previously stated, the greatest protection of the Record Keeping Facility was secrecy.

That said, the girl’s sight, unhindered by physical barriers like doors and walls, could detect a secondary door right after the first one with two Root operatives dutifully standing guard.

Alas, with a flash of red, the two woefully inadequate anti-genjutsu training could not protect them from getting hypnotized.

As such, they did not even notice as Benihime casually opened the first door, walked in and passed in between them through the second one.

You see, highly trained and experienced shinobi can sense the hostility from an attacker, even one perfectly concealed like Beni but, if she had zero intention of attacking, then detecting her became a nearly impossible task.

With her dojutsu proving extremely effective against the Root operatives, it was not long before the girl reached the storage room where the records were kept after being properly filed.

‘Like Shiki-sama said, the door has fuinjutsu protection, messing it triggers an alarm and if I outright destroy it, it is possible that the records inside will be automatically destroyed.’ Beni analyzed.

Thankfully, when Shiki had discovered and mapped out the facility, he obviously noted the seal and prepared a special paper tag that could undo it.

‘The disappearance of the seal will still be noticed though so if I’m unlucky, they will figure out something is afoot immediately. I have to act fast.’ The girl thought, pulling out the prepared Unsealing Tag.

Alongside it, Beni also retrieved a scroll from her shinobi pouch and with a single one handed seal, the scroll instantly turned from a regular size to taller and thickened than the young girl.

‘All set.’ She internally muttered and decisively plastered the Unsealing Tag of the door.

With a satisfying click, it unlocked, no alarms triggered but now, it was only a matter of time until she was noticed.

Wasting no time, Benihime flashed into the room and unfurled the giant scroll on the floor.

She went through a sequence of hand seals and the formula within it activated without delay.

The countless high shelves in the storage room, completely filled with scrolls, books and other documents, began to be emptied as their contents were sucked into the scroll at an extremely fast pace.

Meanwhile, in the facility’s security room . . .

“Hey! The seal in the Storage Room stopped seeing feedback, it showed no signs of tampering or destruction but send Blue Fox to check it out and fix the problem.” A masked man in Anmbu uniform and cloak, commanded a similarly garbed companion.

“Blue Fox has been temporarily reassigned, fuinjutsu users are always in high demand so we’ll have to wait.” The companion responded.

“Then take Gray Bull and go stand guard until the sealing formation is back up.” The man revised his orders.

“Yes sir.” The companion accepted the orders in the robotic and emotionless manner all Root members were expected to and left.

Back to the storage room, even as she watched the scroll rapidly do its work, Benihime’s Shuigan carefully combed the surrounding area for possible interference.

Unfortunately, the man previously in the security room as well as Gray Bull, the fellow Root shinobi he went to find, were orderly walking towards her location.

‘From their pace, they realized something is wrong with the seal but still have no idea the facility has been infiltrated.’ The girl concluded.

She locked towards the scroll currently collecting all of the stored records.

As fast as it went, it was still only about half way done.

‘I’ll have to quickly take them both down without a commotion and hope no further reinforcements come before the record collection is done.’ Benihime quickly decided.

With the Shuigan’s concealment, she left the storage room, closing the doors behind her.

She couldn’t let them get too close and notice what was wrong lest they raise their guard further and make her assassination attempt harder.

Lying in wait, she saw the two approaching figures, still walking briskly, fully masked and cloaked.

‘Based on their builds, the big man is a power based fighter with significant explosiveness and speed, his slimmer companion seems to be more of a speed based type but the development of his chakra network shows focus on ninjutsu.’ Benihime evaluated.

She had plenty of time in Konoha to observe various kinds of shinobi, learning to take the visual information provided by her dojutsu and convert it into actionable combat data.

That along with Shiki’s teachings in the basics of ninjutsu and genjutsu significantly upgraded the girl’s skills.

‘Ninjutsu is showy and noisy. Normally, taking out the taijutsu expert with the most effective first strike and then smothering the ninjutsu user by taking advantage of the cramped hallway we’re fighting in, would be the right move but . . .’

‘I can’t give him the chance to unleash a single ninjutsu that might draw attention, he will die first.’ Benihime decided.

‘Shura Style. Chikage’

A reddish black slash of concentrated chakra seemingly materialized out of nowhere for the two Root shinobi.

The first in the path of the sweeping arc, the ninjutsu specialist, did not even get a window of opportunity to react as his head flew from his neck, now spurting blood into the hair like a macabre fountain.

Unabated, the arc extended towards the other man but owing to his companions’s demise, he barely managed to draw his ninja blade in defense as backstepped away.

An instant of calm passed.

The burly man’s Anbu cloak had been blown away by the previous attack, exposing his built physique clad in a standard Ambu uniform and long brown hair tied in a tight ponytail. but it seemed he managed to block it in time . . .

Or so he thought.

A clear *ping* sound pierced the air as his ninja sword broke in the middle and a thin red line showed itself on his neck, bleeding just slightly.

He dropped the broken sword immediately and assumed a fighting stance, seemingly utterly unbothered neither by his companion’s death, nor by his own close encounter with it.

‘These Root operatives truly give a feeling similar to machines.’ Beni thought to herself.

Her movements were not delayed however.

Another reddish black slash manifested, this time from the man’s rear but already completely alert, he dextrously rolled forward with surprising agility.

His ponytail however, was left behind in the air, severed at the root.

He managed to survive two of Benihime’s strikes but his posture was broken.

And so, with a third reddish black flashing arc, the burly man’s head left his body to join his companion’s.

‘Not as tough as expected.’ The girl thought to herself.

She knew their chakra levels but expected superior combat power from operatives of an elite shadow organization.

Her expectations were not met.

‘Time to get back to the scroll, let’s hope it finishes its job before someone else comes.’
