Eternal Thief

“…who knows, he might be able to help you with your situation!”

Seris’s eyes flashed with chilling killing intent when Marquis Blood Fiend mentioned this peculiar point, and Veyra had a similar expression as she frowned slightly.

“If her highness, Dread Duchess, is protecting this Young Lord Nomad, and if he’s also that important for the Evernight Council, then I don’t think approaching him would be easy, not to mention befriending such a person,” Veyra stated matter-of-factly as she glanced at Marquis Blood Fiend.

“I agreed with you. However,” Marquis Blood Fiend nodded before he looked at Seris, who had turned silent while emitting a faint killing intent, and a bloody light flashed in his eyes, “…have you forgotten about those four ’attendants’ of Evil Diva that you’ve been training as a favor to Evil Diva?”

Veyra’s eyes shone with realization as she vaguely guessed what Marquis Blood Fiend was implying and couldn’t help but look at her daughter with an admirable smile.

“Previously, I didn’t understand why you agreed to such a request, even if it was from Evil Diva, and you’ve never told us about what Evil Diva’s specific request was, except for training those four, but your father trusted your judgment.

“Me, on the other hand, I tried to investigate their background, but found nothing and was a bit worried…I guess I’ve been too narrow-minded, but can you blame your mother for worrying about my little girl?”

“I don’t blame you at all!” Seris muttered while snuggling in her mother’s arms.

Veyra was gratified while she chuckled in self-mockery. Still, she didn’t seem to be ashamed about accepting her fault as she continued, “Anyhow, Evil Diva, after all, is the only disciple of her highness, Dread Duchess, and since you’ve accepted her request, I don’t think it’ll be excessive to ask her to return the favor, right?”

Marquis Blood Fiend nodded in approval as he spoke to Seris with gratification, “Indeed, Evil Diva is the only one who could come in contact with this Young Lord Nomad, and if I hadn’t known better, I would’ve thought you had already predicted this outcome when you accepted those three…”

While Marquis Blood Fiend and Veyra were flattering and admiring their daughter’s foresight, they failed to notice a flicker of darkness flashing in the depths of Seris’s eyes, and her expression went blank for a fleeting moment…

—

At this moment, on the southern training grounds of the Heart Chamber, four figures were sitting cross-legged upon runic circles that were continuously channeling dense and pure Abyssal Qi directly into their bodies.

Furthermore, this Abyssal Qi gathering formation was an Abyssal-Grade-7 formation that could help even Abyssal Lords cultivate without half the effort and twice the result.

Usually, this formation was only reserved for Seris as the heiress of the Crimson Vein Hall, but now these four mysterious figures were using it, and not even the Marquis Blood Fiend was aware of it.

These four were precisely the same ’attendants’ of Evil Diva that had appeared out of nowhere and drawn everyone’s attention from the Crimson Vein Hall, including the Marquis and Viscount.

The reason behind their scrutiny was, of course, Seris, who had never shown any interest in others and considered everyone a stepping stone, had suddenly taken those four under her wings. She was going to mentor them at Evil Diva’s request.

Although meeting the four ’attendants’ under the request of Evil Diva was already giving her more than enough face, accepting those four attendants was another matter, especially for someone like Seris.

Even though Marquis Blood Fiend didn’t interfere in this matter and only asked Seris once, he had secretly investigated those four, just like Veyra, and found nothing, making him slightly worried.

However, after observing them for a while, they realized that they really seemed to be training under Seris’s brutal methods, and Marquis’s suspicion died down.

But he still doesn’t understand why Seris would have agreed to it, and he thinks there’s some hidden deal between Evil Diva and Seris that interests his daughter enough to do something against her nature.

Nonetheless, time continued to pass, and everything remained the same within the heart chamber, and the Crimson Vein Hall, and these four never leave this place. Almost everyone had forgotten about their existence, until today…

Among these four ’attendants’, the one sitting at the very back of the other three, she seemed to be immersed in cultivation.

But if Marquis Blood Fiend were to use his Abyssal Sense on her at this moment, he would’ve seen a fragile, ethereal thread connected to her forehead, and on the other end, it seemed to be long, going beyond the heart chamber.

Furthermore, the thread seemed to pulse like a nerve, and with every pulse, a scene was unraveling within this woman’s mind, as if she had an extra pair of eyes.

As for those scenes, they were identical to whatever Seris was seeing with her own eyes, and not only that, but her thoughts, memories, and everything were exposed within this woman’s mind.

It was as if Seris was just an empty body, and this woman was her actual mind!

At that moment, her lips suddenly curled up in an enthralling smile as she used a secret method to speak with the three others in their heads.

Although this method was similar to spirit transmission, it was far more secure, and no one could even sense the faintest fluctuation. However, this method was only possible between these four and couldn’t be used with others, but for them, it was more than enough.

She spoke, “Girls, I think something interesting has happened.”

One of them asked in a curious tone, “Oh, what is it? Marquis has summoned that fiend girl, I guess it’s related to it, right?”

“Hehe, indeed, I’ll be sharing this information through the ’Evil Channel’ now, you’ll understand once you see it yourself.”

The next moment, under this woman’s control, Seris’s memories started to flood into the other three women’s minds, and they all saw the same thing as their ’superior’.

At that moment, after getting a clear picture of the situation, one of them couldn’t help but exclaim with a hint of annoyance, “Miss, do you think this Young Lord Nomad is…?”

Suddenly, the ’miss’ opened her bewitching eyes, and they shimmered with great intrigue and confidence, “Heh, I guess now every old member knows about that familiar pattern of ’work’…indeed, I’m over 90% certain that this Young Lord Nomad is our dear House Leader~!”
