Eternal Thief

Steward Jesper’s law sense only lasted for a moment, but it completely alerted Ace. Although this body was his avatar, their minds were one and the same. But he quickly calmed down when he thought about how heaven-defying the Avatar of Holy Twilight was, and he had yet to see anyone who could see through this Avatar’s mysteries.

At this moment, a strange light flashed in Steward Jesper’s eyes as he looked at Ace profoundly, making Norman’s heart beat with anticipation as he watched silently. “You are quite an unusual one.” Steward Jesper ambiguously stated, looking calm as ever, but inwardly, he was filled with confusion and uncertainties.

He then looked at Norman and asked, “Who is sponsoring him?”

Norman knew Steward Jesper was asking about who was opening a backdoor for Ace, and only the Prosperity Elders and people with higher status can sponsor cultivators like Ace, who had no connection with PHW King Sect.

But no matter how high one status was, they could only have them become an outer sect disciple, and even then, the sect had the right to expel these Sponsees if they turned out to be good for nothing.

In fact, the Sponsees were under deep scrutiny until they proved themselves, and Ace was now going to be such a Sponsee.

Norman answered, “It’s Prosperity Elder Maxwell Blackwood!”

Steward Jesper suddenly chuckled, “Tell Prosperity Elder Maxwell that he didn’t need to use his Sponsor Slots. This little one is probably more than qualified to be an Outer Sect Disciple according to the Sect Rules.”

When he heard this unexpected response, Norman was startled and quickly asked, “How? Could it be Senior Steward can tell what kind of bloodline he has?”

‘What is going on?’ Ace was also surprised by this sudden turn of events and looked at Steward Jesper with a hint of doubt and vigilance.

“Bloodline?” Steward Jesper seemed surprised as he said, “So, he also has a human bloodline?”

“Also?” Norman was now truly shocked as he stared at Steward Jesper with doubt but also with burning curiosity since he knew Steward Jesper wasn’t some random elder of the PHW King Sect; in fact, he has always been a Steward and in charge of the Hall of Prosperous Beginnings and his power and origin were mysterious.

Even the enigmatic Sect Leader was rumored to be registered by Steward Jesper, which made him almost everyone’s senior, and no one dared to offend him.

There was another reason he was in charge of this hall, it was because Steward Jesper’s has a special hunter bloodline with a divine talent! Although no one knew this Divine Talent, everyone suspected it had something to do with divination.

Divine Talents were something even rarer than bloodlines, and anyone with a Divine Talent in the entire Mortal Ascension Heaven would be treated like a sacred treasure. In the history of the civilization of the Mortal Ascension Heaven, only a handful of individuals had Divine Talents, and all of them became terrifying entities.

In fact, the Three Righteous and Three Evils’ founders were individuals with Divine Talents.

However, the thing about Divine Talents is that, unlike bloodlines, they can’t be passed down; they can only be awake by chance and luck. At least, in the Mortal Ascension Heaven, no bloodline was strong enough to pass down divine talents, and the information on them was very limited.

That’s why Steward Jesper’s status in the sect was so unique. Despite Steward Jesper never confirming he had a divine talent, he also never denied it. But no one was darning enough to probe since it would be prying into Steward Jesper’s secrecy.

But now that Steward Jesper had said that Ace was already qualified to join the sect without any sponsor, and he was clearly not talking about his bloodline, Norman became extremely excited and thought Ace’s talent was even more impressive than he could imagine.

Steward Jesper could tell what Norman was getting excited about but didn’t give an accurate reply and said, “Nothing is clear now. You should take your leave now and leave him here. He’ll take some tests, and only then can I arrange a division for him to place according to his talent and potential.”

Norman frowned slightly at this unexpected response but trusted Steward Jesper and knew he wouldn’t harm Ace, especially if he were special enough to become a disciple without anyone’s interference. But he was curious nevertheless.

In the end, he gives Ace a meaningful glance before he says, “Be respectful to senior Steward and do as he tells you to. I hope the next time I see you, you’ll be a disciple of the sect.”

Ace was flabbergasted by this strange turn of events, but he knew he couldn’t do anything but accept since neither Norman nor Steward Jesper were people he could go against yet, especially the latter.

“I won’t disappoint you.” Ace quickly promised with deep resolution despite his hidden misgivings.

“Thank you for looking after Ace.” Norman quickly bowed to Steward Jesper before he left after giving Ace one last glance, which contained some worry.

Once Norman left, Steward Jesper looked at Ace and finally spoke with a vague smile, “There’s no need to fear, little one. If you have what I suspect, it’ll be a big fortune for you. Nonetheless, there’s still a need for some evaluation to confirm it. Alright, follow me.”

Steward Jesper stood and started walking behind the registration area, and Ace could only follow.

Steward Jesper suddenly stopped in front of a vivid painting before he performed a hand incarnation, and the next moment, the painting started to swirl and fade away, revealing an ornate staircase leading upward.

Ace’s eyes shimmered with bright light as he followed Steward Jesper, but he failed to notice an invisible beam of light suddenly shot from Steward Jesper’s finger and vanished into space.

At this moment, above the peak of Wealth Mountain, within the cluster of dense clouds was actually a floating silver palace completely invisible to the naked eye. In the depth of this floating palace was sitting a hominid silhouette surrounded by dense, ethereal golden mist.

“Hmm? Old Steward sent an urgent message? How rare!” A majestic voice filled with surprise and anticipation rang, making the entire space tremble faintly as if the voice were one with laws.

The next moment, the silhouette seemed to flicker its long, slender fingers, and the next moment, the space rippled with Steward Jesper’s sound.

“Sorry to disturb your seclusion, Matriarch, but we may have a young one with a dormant Divine Talent at our doorstep. I also suspect he has a special fantastic soul physique, meridians, or probably both.

“That’s why I report directly to you instead of Little Sect Leader. I’m currently taking him to the Prosperity Evaluation Chamber, so feel free to observe. There are high chances that he’s the one Prophesied in Founder Patriarch’s prophecy plaque he left behind before he transcended!”

The silhouette trembled when Steward Jesper’s voice faded away, and the entire space began to shake with it before the Matriarch’s powerful voice sounded filled with disbelief, “Could that prophecy really be real!?”
