Online Game: My Decay Drives the Entire Server Crazy

Chapter 129 A Sky-Piercing Arrival in Seoul Instantly Makes Him a Lord! Koreans Collectively Fawn Over HimWhen the plane landed at Seoul Incheon Airport, the entire facility had already been completely locked down by the military.

The runway was packed with armored vehicles and armed helicopters, and soldiers armed with live ammunition were everywhere; the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife.

As soon as Lin Ye and Su Qinghan stepped off the plane, a middle-aged man in a suit with graying hair hurried up to meet them, his face plastered with a fawning smile.

”Mr. Lin Ye! Ms. Su! You’ve finally arrived! I am Kim Jae-hwan, the Prime Minister of South Korea. On behalf of all the citizens of South Korea, I thank you for saving our lives!”

As he spoke, he actually bowed deeply to Lin Ye.

The high-ranking South Korean military officers and government officials standing beside him also bowed in unison, their demeanor as respectful as it could possibly be.

Lin Ye waved his hand, his tone casual. ”Alright, cut the formalities. What’s the situation? Where is it the worst?”

Kim Jae-hwan quickly straightened up, an anxious look on his face. ”Mr. Lin Ye, the situation is dire! An Abyss Monster known as an Abyss Ripper has appeared in the Myeongdong shopping district, and it’s a Lord-level monster! We deployed three armored brigades and lost over two hundred soldiers, yet we couldn’t even scratch it! The entire Myeongdong district has been taken over by it, and over a hundred thousand citizens are trapped inside, their lives in danger at any moment!”

”Lord-level?” Lin Ye raised an eyebrow. ”Interesting. Let’s go. We’re heading to Myeongdong right now; I want to see just how tough this Ripper really is.”

”Yes, yes, yes! The car is ready!” Kim Jae-hwan hurriedly led Lin Ye and Su Qinghan to an armored SUV.

The convoy sped toward Myeongdong with its sirens wailing.

The streets along the way were in ruins, littered with burning cars and collapsed buildings. Occasionally, a few wandering Abyss Monsters could be seen, and as soon as they spotted the convoy, they immediately lunged at it.

Before the soldiers could even fire their guns, Lin Ye casually disposed of them with a few energy blasts.

Kim Jae-hwan sat beside him, his eyes wide with shock. He secretly felt relieved that he had agreed to pay the protection fee immediately; otherwise, South Korea would truly be on the brink of collapse today.

Ten minutes later, the convoy arrived at the perimeter of Myeongdong.

The area had been turned into a defensive line by the military using sandbags and armored vehicles. Behind this line, countless soldiers were firing their weapons into the district, with the sounds of gunfire and explosions ringing out incessantly.

In the center of the defensive line, a five-meter-tall black monster was rampaging wildly.

It had six arms, each equipped with a sharp bone blade, and its body was covered in thick scales that caused bullets to merely spark off its surface.

Every time it swung its bone blades, several armored vehicles were sliced in half, and the screams of the soldiers rose one after another.

”That’s it! The Abyss Ripper!” Kim Jae-hwan pointed at the monster, his voice trembling.

Lin Ye pushed open the car door and was about to step out when a middle-aged man in a general’s uniform suddenly blocked his path.

This man was Park Jeong-ho, the Commander of the South Korean Army. His face was full of defiance. ”Prime Minister! We don’t need foreigners to help us! The soldiers of our Republic of Korea can handle this monster ourselves! We were just unprepared earlier; now, I will lead the charge myself, and we will definitely kill it!”

Kim Jae-hwan’s expression changed, and he shouted sternly, ”Park Jeong-ho! Have you lost your mind? So many soldiers have already died at its hands; if you go up there, you’re just throwing your life away! Get out of the way and let Mr. Lin Ye handle this!”

”I won’t!” Park Jeong-ho said, stiffening his neck. ”I don’t believe one man can be more powerful than our three armored brigades! He’s definitely a scammer! Today, I’ll show him the might of the Republic of Korea’s military!”

With that, he grabbed an assault rifle and shouted to the soldiers behind him, ”Brothers! Follow me! Kill this monster and show the foreigner what we’re capable of!”

Several hundred soldiers followed him, charging forward with shouts.

Lin Ye folded his arms and stood to the side to watch the show, a mocking smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. ”Fine, then I’ll see just how powerful you soldiers of the Republic of Korea really are.”

Su Qinghan whispered from the side, ”Isn’t this too dangerous? Those soldiers are innocent.”

”Don’t worry,” Lin Ye said indifferently. ”I’ll step in when they’re about to die. It’ll be a good lesson for them to understand what a real gap in power is.”

Sure enough, as soon as Park Jeong-ho and the soldiers reached the Ripper, the monster swung its bone blades violently.

”Swish!” A dozen soldiers were instantly sliced in half, and blood splattered across Park Jeong-ho’s face.

Park Jeong-ho turned deathly pale with fright and turned to run.

How could the Ripper let him go? Another bone blade whistled through the air as it slashed toward his back.

Just as Park Jeong-ho was about to be split in two, a pale golden beam of energy shot over and struck the bone blade with precision.

”Crack!” The sharp bone blade shattered instantly.

Park Jeong-ho collapsed to the ground, trembling all over, unable to even stand up.

The Ripper roared in anger, turned its head, and fixed its blood-red eyes on Lin Ye.

”Human! You dare to ruin my fun! I will tear you to pieces!”

It lunged violently toward Lin Ye, swinging all six arms simultaneously. Six bone blades slashed at Lin Ye from different directions, cutting off all his retreat paths.

The onlookers were terrified and closed their eyes, thinking Lin Ye was surely done for this time.

”Is that all you’ve got? And you call yourself a Lord-level monster?”

Lin Ye sneered, took a step forward, and activated his max-level Decay Domain.

The pale golden energy expanded instantly, covering the entire Myeongdong shopping district.

The charging Ripper suddenly froze. Its scales began to corrode rapidly, and its six arms shriveled up at a speed visible to the naked eye.

”No! Impossible! My power! Why is my power disappearing?” the Ripper shrieked in terror.

”In my domain, even the Lord of the Abyss would have to get down on his knees, let alone a lowly Lord like you.”

Lin Ye raised his hand and clenched it into a fist in the air toward the Ripper.

”Bang!” With a loud boom, the entire body of the Abyss Ripper exploded instantly, turning into countless black fragments that scattered on the ground and turned to ash.

The entire scene fell into a deathly silence.

Everyone stared at Lin Ye, dumbfounded, their faces filled with disbelief.

That Lord-level monster, which had been impervious to bullets and had just killed hundreds of soldiers, was actually killed by Lin Ye in a single move?

This was just too absurd!

After several seconds, thunderous cheers erupted from behind the defensive line.

”We won! We won!”

”Mr. Lin Ye is amazing!”

”Thank you! Thank you for saving us!”

The citizens who had been trapped in Myeongdong rushed out, bowing and thanking Lin Ye incessantly.

Park Jeong-ho, who had been so arrogant just a moment ago, was now so ashamed he wished he could crawl into a hole. He kept his head low, not daring to look at Lin Ye.

Kim Jae-hwan hurried over to Lin Ye and bowed deeply again. ”Mr. Lin Ye! Thank you so much! You truly are the savior of South Korea! Park Jeong-ho was ignorant earlier and offended you; I apologize to you on his behalf!”

He turned his head and shouted sternly at Park Jeong-ho, ”Hurry up and apologize to Mr. Lin Ye!”

Park Jeong-ho gritted his teeth, walked over to Lin Ye reluctantly, and said with his head bowed, ”I’m sorry, Mr. Lin Ye. I was wrong.”

Lin Ye glanced at him and said indifferently, ”Don’t be so self-righteous in the future. Not every country is like South Korea, only good at bragging. When real trouble hits, you still have to rely on us.”

Park Jeong-ho’s face turned bright red, and he couldn’t say a word.

Over the next two hours, Lin Ye and Su Qinghan led the South Korean military to clear out all the remaining Abyss Monsters in Myeongdong.

Then, Lin Ye came to the Abyss Rift in the center of Myeongdong and struck out with a beam of golden energy.

The rift, which had been constantly spewing out Abyss Monsters, shrank at a speed visible to the naked eye and closed completely within a few seconds.

Seeing the rift sealed, everyone cheered with excitement.

The President of South Korea even called personally to express his endless gratitude to Lin Ye, saying he wanted to award Lin Ye the highest honor medal of South Korea and erect a statue of him in the center of Seoul.

Lin Ye refused directly. ”Keep the medal and the statue. I’ve already collected your protection fee; this is what I was supposed to do. As long as you don’t cause trouble in the game in the future and stop jumping around behind the United States, I’ll be grateful enough.”

The President was left speechless by the retort and could only nod repeatedly. ”Yes, yes, yes! Mr. Lin Ye is right! We will definitely live in harmony with China in the future and absolutely will not cause any more trouble!”

After handling the situation in Myeongdong, Kim Jae-hwan took Lin Ye and Su Qinghan to several other severely affected areas in Seoul.

Lin Ye swept through everything along the way; no matter the level of the Abyss Monster, he killed them all in a single move.

The Abyss invasion, which would have originally taken months to clean up, was completely resolved by Lin Ye in just half a day.

In the evening, Kim Jae-hwan hosted a banquet at the Blue House to entertain Lin Ye and Su Qinghan.

At the banquet, Kim Jae-hwan took out a bank card and handed it to Lin Ye. ”Mr. Lin Ye, this is a small token of appreciation from our South Korean government, with 500 million USD inside; please, you must accept it. Also, we have prepared a top-tier luxury mansion for you in the Gangnam District, along with a limited-edition sports car. The paperwork is all done, and it can be transferred to your name tomorrow.”

Lin Ye pushed the bank card back and said indifferently, ”I said, I only collect the protection fee. I don’t want a single cent of extra money or gifts. If you really want to show sincerity, buy more Chinese goods and travel to China more in the future; that’s better than anything else.”

Kim Jae-hwan hurriedly said, ”Certainly, certainly! We will introduce policies tomorrow to encourage our citizens to travel to China and increase the import of Chinese goods!”

Just then, Lin Ye’s phone rang; it was the U.S. Secretary of Defense calling.

As soon as the call connected, an anxious voice came through. ”Mr. Lin Ye! I beg you! Please come to the United States immediately! Washington D.C. can’t hold on much longer! Three Lord-level Abyss Monsters have appeared, and our military simply can’t stop them! The White House has been surrounded! The President has even hidden in an underground bunker!”

Lin Ye said slowly, ”What’s the rush? I just finished handling things in South Korea and haven’t even rested yet. Besides, my next stop is Japan, and they are urging me very urgently. You Americans will just have to wait; I’ll come over after I finish dealing with Japan.”

”Don’t do that! Mr. Lin Ye!” The U.S. Secretary of Defense was nearly crying. ”We can pay more! Another 1 billion USD! No! 2 billion! As long as you come right now, we’ll transfer the money immediately!”

”More money won’t help,” Lin Ye said indifferently. ”Business requires a first-come, first-served basis. Japan paid first, so of course, I have to handle Japan’s affairs first. You Americans can just wait slowly; it’s not like I’m the one dying.”

With that, he hung up the phone directly and set it to silent.

Kim Jae-hwan watched from the side, trembling with fear. He secretly felt relieved that he hadn’t haggled like the Americans; otherwise, he wouldn’t even have a place to cry now.

The next morning, Lin Ye and Su Qinghan boarded a plane to Tokyo, Japan.

After the plane took off, Su Qinghan looked at Seoul, which was getting smaller outside the window, and couldn’t help but laugh. ”You’re intentionally keeping the U.S. in suspense; aren’t you afraid they really won’t be able to hold on?”

”It’s better if they can’t,” Lin Ye took a sip of coffee, a wicked smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. ”Who told them to be so arrogant before? Let them suffer a bit more to learn a lesson. When they’re on the brink of collapse, I’ll go over, and by then, I can raise the price again.”

Su Qinghan shook her head helplessly. ”You really are obsessed with money. But I like it.”

Lin Ye laughed out loud. ”Of course! Since I earned this fleece with my own skills, it would be a waste not to shear it. Let’s go, to Japan, to continue our great fleecing enterprise!”

The plane flew through the clouds, heading toward Tokyo, Japan.

Meanwhile, Washington D.C. in the United States had already turned into a living hell.

Three Lord-level Abyss Monsters were rampaging through the city. The walls of the White House had been breached, and the President was hiding in an underground bunker, cursing into the phone, yet completely helpless.
