I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!

Everything was happening so fast. As soon as the avalanche came, the snow looked like waves that wanted to swallow them alive.

They ran as fast as they could, but the snow was even faster. The instant it touched their feet, they knew it was over.

The avalanche pulled them into a sea of white. They couldn’t even keep holding each other’s hands anymore.

Just before she was completely buried and dragged away somewhere unknown, she screamed, ”I will find you! I will find—”

She wasn’t able to speak anymore because the snow had completely buried her, and the impact knocked her unconscious.

When she opened her eyes again, her body felt stiff and painfully cold. Snow pressed against her from all sides. She couldn’t breathe well because every breath felt hard and weak.

[Warning! Warning! Get out before you run out of oxygen!]

[Remaining oxygen: 30%]

[Warning! Warning! You may be buried forever if you don’t escape now.]

Oh, just shut up.

Roxanna gritted her teeth because the system was starting to annoy her. Still, its warning was true. If she didn’t get out now, her body could be trapped alive inside this pile of snow.

Her healing ability would try its best to keep her alive, but the lack of oxygen would make it impossible for her to stay conscious for long.

[System, where should I dig?] she asked in her mind. She couldn’t tell which way was up or down because everything felt the same.

[Up! Up! You have to dig upward!]

With the remaining oxygen in her lungs, Roxanna began digging her way out of the snow. It was extremely hard since her fingers were almost frozen, but she still tried with all her strength because she also had to find her husbands, who were nowhere to be seen.

[You can do it, Host! You can do it!]

[Keep digging! Keep digging!]

Roxanna became even more annoyed because the system started to sound like an annoying cheerleader. But at least its noisy voice managed to keep her from passing out again, at least until her oxygen ran out.

Roxanna clenched her jaw and kept moving her hands, even though her arms felt heavy and weak.

[Shut up...] she whispered inside her mind. [You’re so loud...]

She dug and pushed the snow away again and again. Every small movement felt like it took all her strength. Her fingers were numb, and she could barely feel them anymore.

[Remaining oxygen: 15%.]

”So fast...” she murmured.

Panic slowly crept into her heart. What if she didn’t make it in time? What if she was trapped here, buried under layers of cold snow forever?

No, she refused to accept that.

She had promised her husbands that she would find them, so she had to fulfill that promise.

[Remaining oxygen: 10%]

Her vision began to darken and black spots danced in front of her eyes. Just when she thought she couldn’t go on anymore, her hands finally broke through the thick snow.

”I... did it...”

Using the last bit of her strength, she dragged herself upward. She kicked her legs and twisted her body, forcing herself to move. Little by little, she pushed through the snow until she reached the surface.

Gasp!

She took a deep breath as soon as her head came out of the snow. Cold air rushed into her lungs, making her cough.

She leaned on the snow around her, afraid her weak body would slide back down. Her chest rose and fell fast as she tried to calm her breathing.

Roxanna looked around, trying to find any sign of her husbands, but there was nothing.

The only thing she could see was an endless field of white snow. She couldn’t even find a single trace of her husbands, whether it was their clothes, shoes, or even their backpacks.

”I... I need you to find them,” Roxanna said softly, her voice shaking as she tried to catch her breath. ”Can you track them now? You said you could track items from the system, right?”

This was one of the reasons why Roxanna had let her husbands carry the backpacks instead of putting them into the system’s inventory.

Even though the bags were heavy and slowed them down, at least if they were separated like this, she knew they would still have food and clothes to stay alive.

That thought gave her a little comfort. As for herself, she could always buy new things from the system’s market later.

[Yes, Host. The system is able to track their locations.]

[Tracking the backpacks...]

It took the system at least three minutes before two red dots finally appeared on the system’s panel.

”What...?” she whispered, staring at the screen. She narrowed her eyes, afraid she was seeing things. ”Why are they so far apart?”

The bag number one was to the west, while the number two was to the east. Not only were they in different areas, but the distance she had to travel also seemed quite far. She would probably need to walk for about an hour to reach one of them.

In other words, the other one would have to wait much longer, and Roxanna didn’t know if that was a good choice, especially if they also started moving, which might make the distance between them even farther.

”I don’t want to choose...” she murmured.

After all, both of them were equally precious to her. But it was impossible for her to reach both of them in a short time.

Slowly, she pulled her tired body completely out of the snow. Her arms trembled, and her legs felt weak. Still, she forced herself to stand.

Then she asked in a low voice, filled with worry, ”Between Cyrus and Luan... who is better at surviving in a place like this?”

The system was silent for a moment, as if it was thinking. Then, a calm voice sounded in her mind. [Analyzing their abilities and survival rate...]

[Result complete.]

[Luan, as a cat beastman, has better balance, sharper senses, and strong instincts in snowy terrain.]

[However, his thin fur provides limited protection against extreme cold.]

[Cyrus, as a bird beastman, has strong endurance and can use air currents, but his wings are vulnerable to heavy snow and freezing winds.]
