Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

When Lin You returned to the territory, it was already afternoon.

Holding the ten newly acquired Mid-level Faith Treasure Pearls, he quickly went to the World Tree.

[Do you want to use the “Faith Treasure Pearl (Mid-level)”?]

“Use them all.”

As his voice fell, all the Faith Treasure Pearls transformed into streams of light and merged into the World Tree, while a surge of powerful energy flowed into his body, enhancing it.

His Power of Faith also instantly surged to over 25,000, finally crossing the halfway threshold.

As for the Origin Fruit, Lin You decided not to exchange it immediately, planning instead to accumulate a certain amount first.

After all, it was only worth 1,000 faith points.

He exited the interface.

He then went to the Species Base with the new Secret Treasure and bound it to the Lantern Grass and Plant Dragon branches.

As for the Low-level Secret Treasure that was replaced, he decided to keep it temporarily, possibly selling it or exchanging it for something else later.

After these operations, his strength had significantly improved, and he finally upgraded all the species with Secret Treasures to SSS-levels, except for a few auxiliary ones like Equipment Species, Dandelion, and Ancient Tree of Knowledge.

“There’s still some time, let’s go outside and have a look.”

After glancing at the sky, Lin You didn’t stay inside the territory any longer, taking Lingxi with him to go outside and check the situation in Yellow Sand City.

After months of development, the urban area of Yellow Sand City had expanded four to five times its original size, almost covering the entire forest area.

Due to the unique nature of his territory, the urban construction was divided into two levels, on the ground and in the trees.

A comprehensive transportation network was constructed in the forest, connecting various districts, bustling with vehicles and people.

Especially in the late afternoon, many caravans from surrounding cities rushed into the city.

Lin You strolled around the new urban area and finally found Xue Changgui and Wei Gang conversing on the eastern side of the forest near the Gobi Desert.

“My Lord.”

“Greetings, My Lord.”

Upon seeing Lin You arrive, the two immediately bowed respectfully.

Lin You raised his hand slightly: “No need for formalities, how is the construction going here recently?”

As he spoke, he also glanced around at the simple outposts outside the forest and the teams of guards patrolling back and forth.

“Reporting to My Lord, the construction of the main urban area has basically taken shape, and it just needs time to develop. However, the defensive outposts still have some issues,” Xue Changgui reported with cupped hands.

“What issues?” Lin You withdrew his gaze and looked at him.

Before Xue Changgui could answer, Wei Gang already spoke up: “It’s like this. Today, a team returning from hunting reported that the demons in the Gobi seem to have become stronger and more aggressive than before.”

“Is that so?” Lin You’s eyes flickered.

For some reason, upon hearing Wei Gang’s report, he inexplicably recalled the shadowy trunk he saw today in the Nightmare Forest.

“Yes, the demons have not only gotten stronger, but their numbers have also increased significantly. Today, two waves of beast tides came out from the Gobi, and the defensive structures at the outposts were somewhat inadequate, so I discussed with Manager Xue about expanding them.”

“Expansion?”

Lin You murmured to himself, glancing at the outposts outside the forest used to defend against beast tides, which were just a few rows of wood and fences and indeed somewhat rudimentary.

Outside the outposts, there were also many cultivators and a ground full of demon corpses being dealt with.

It seemed they had just experienced a beast tide attack, with the numbers significantly higher than before.

If ignored, the defense forces of Yellow Sand City would likely struggle to hold, leading to casualties and losses.

If the city were to be breached by demons and cause havoc during his absence, the losses would be substantial for him.

It could even directly affect his acquisition of Power of Faith.

That wouldn’t do.

After thinking for a while, he said: “In that case, let’s put a hold on the urban expansion plans. Redirect some manpower to build a new defensive outpost and city wall in this area outside, connecting to the mountains.”

“My Lord, are you suggesting we completely isolate Yellow Sand City from the Gobi, and defend the city?” Xue Changgui asked in surprise.

Building a city wall connecting to the mountains was no small project, requiring significant manpower and resources similar to a city’s construction.

Especially in the selection of defensive materials and equipment, there could be no room for carelessness, as it was intended to hold the front line against beast tides.

“Yes, with the previous smaller urban area, we could rely solely on manpower and tools to fend off beast tides.”

“But now things are different. Both the urban area and population have grown, and the old methods are no longer viable.”

“I’ll transfer an additional 50 million in liquid funds later, adding to the original 30 million, all to be used for material procurement and recruitment.”

Lin You earned so much Magic Energy, not just to enhance his own strength, but to quickly develop the territory.

So he wasn’t stingy in this aspect and directly opened the territory interface to transfer 50 million Magic Energy into the Yellow Sand City fund.

That was probably one of his advantages.

Having more resources to build the territory.

At least in terms of territory development, he believed he was not inferior to any Tier Eight Lord.

“Right.”

Next, as if remembering something, Lin You waved his hand, and a pile of materials appeared on the open ground.

“Take these Tier Nine materials and have the dwarves forge equipment to enhance the Guard’s strength.”

“Tier Nine!”

Wei Gang’s eyes widened as he gazed at the pile of materials before him.

The amount was so large that crafting dozens of sets of Tier Nine Equipment wouldn’t be a problem.

“Is…is this really for us?”

Wei Gang couldn’t help but swallow.

Hearing this, Xue Changgui was also greatly astonished.

Their lord had actually slain so many Tier Nine Demons!

“Of course, they’re for you. Arrange it as you see fit, just make sure it goes to trustworthy individuals,” Lin You reminded.

“Rest assured, my lord, I will handle it!”

Wei Gang straightened up, answering promptly.

“Alright, go back to work, I’m going outside to check the situation.”

Lin You didn’t say anything more and directly summoned the Demon Emperor Dragon. Amidst a gust of roaring wind, he dashed out of the checkpoint, flying towards the depths of the Gobi Desert.

The massive figure immediately caused nearby pedestrians to exclaim in shock.

“Farewell, Lord!”

Xue Changgui and Wei Gang’s loud shouts echoed through the checkpoint, seeing Lin You off.

At this moment, the speed of the Demon Emperor Dragon was nothing like before.

The speed was so fast that in an instant, it crossed the outskirts of the Gobi, leaving the Yellow Sand City far behind.

“Accelerate!”

At Lin You’s command, the Demon Emperor Dragon directly activated the Rapid Shadow skill, sharply increasing its speed.

Immediately afterward, the Wind Spirit Secret Treasure effect triggered, making the entire massive body of the Demon Emperor Dragon begin to become illusory, even causing Lin You on its back to appear distorted.

“Is this… the riding effect?”

Lin You was astonished. He didn’t expect the new treasure’s evasion attack effect would also be effective for the rider.

In this way.

The next time he rides the Demon Emperor Dragon to accelerate his escape, he will have a 40% chance to evade attacks, raising his escape ability to a whole new level.

“Great effect!”

Lin You couldn’t help but exclaim, feeling the cool breeze continuously brush past him, as the speed suddenly increased.

In less than half an hour, he had already arrived high above the depths of the Gobi.

Just as Wei Gang had said.

The demons on the Gobi had become more numerous.

Demon beast hordes were visible everywhere, running across the vast yellow earth, and even the number of demon nests was denser than before.

Lin You swept past a pack of Black Wolves, with an attribute interface popping up before his eyes.

[Name: Dark Demon Wolf (Ordinary)]

[Race: Wild Beast]

[Level: Tier Eight (F-level)]

[Power: 2040 (+408)]

[Constitution: 1985 (+397)]

[Agility: 2180 (+436)]

[Spirit: 2000 (+400)]

[Skills: Rush, Shadow Assault, Shadow Arrow]

[Chaos: All attributes increased by 20%]

[Introduction: A wolf-type demon roaming in the night, preferring to live in groups, and possessing extremely strong combat abilities at night.]

Hmm?

F-level?

After reading the attributes, Lin You was shocked.

The ordinary demons in the Gobi here had also been infected by chaos, starting to evolve.

This inevitably reminded him of the Tier Nine Lord Demon he killed today, which also underwent evolution.

Once could be considered a coincidence, but twice might indicate something else.

Could it be…

The changes in the Demon Plane are indeed affecting the demons on the continent?

Or is the aura of chaos from the Demon Plane infiltrating various realms?

If this is truly the case, it would be a big concern.

Because Lin You clearly knew what kind of thing had triggered this series of changes.

It was precisely the terrifying existence suppressed at the bottom of the Demon Plane!

Lin You didn’t know exactly what these changes were foretelling.

But he could sense that something major was about to happen.

And it might be an event that sweeps across the entire Ten Thousand Realms!

Greatly alarmed, he immediately went to other places to observe other demons, and indeed, they all had undergone varying degrees of evolution.

Most of them were F-level, with a small portion reaching E-level.

It’s been just a day.

At this rate, evolving to A-level or even S-level is just a matter of time. There’s even a possibility of evolving into Leader or Lord Demons, greatly increasing the difficulty of defense.

It seemed that his decision to build defensive walls and strengthen territory defense was indeed very wise.

After wandering around the Gobi once again and hunting a few demons that looked like they had tender meat.

Lin You then activated the Territory Teleportation Array, directly teleporting back.

“Shua!”

A light shone.

He was once again back within his territory.

As dusk approached, he brought the freshly hunted demons to the side to skin and clean them, preparing to enjoy a nice barbecue.

“Damn! Brothers, the demons around my territory have evolved!”

At this moment, a message suddenly popped up in the Duchy channel; other lords had finally noticed the anomaly too.

In no time, all the lords were in heated discussion.

“The ones over there evolved too? I thought it was only happening in my area.”

“I’ve encountered the same situation. What on earth is going on?”

“Crap! My territory was almost overrun by the beast tide after the evolution today, nearly couldn’t hold it.”

“Good news though—I used to only see Tier Six demons here, but now after upgrading, Tier Seven ones have appeared.”

“Is this a signal for everyone to speed up upgrading?”
