Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 2183: Chapter 2184: Slaughter

”Ah...”

A soft scream emerged from beneath Lin Chen’s arm; it was Meng Shan, who presently covered her eyes, her expression riddled with fear.

Although that person deserved to die, witnessing such a scenario was enough to make Meng Shan nauseous.

Lin Chen furrowed his brows further, sensing no trace of consciousness from the monkey king—it was as if everything was driven by its feral instincts.

Brutal, savage, showing no mercy whatsoever.

As Lin Chen and the others observed, its arm continued to ingest the remaining limbs of the figure, slowly chewing them.

Its chewing was swift; after the flesh entered, it was hastily swallowed, with only the difficult-to-digest bones spat out from its mouth.

Three feet ahead, a pool of blood accumulated, fragments of bones mixed with scattered bits of flesh in the gore, resembling a hell on Earth.

The scene was so harrowing that Meng Shan dared not to look any longer, only stealing fleeting glances through her fingers, trembling inwardly.

”Don’t be afraid...” Lin Chen comforted softly, lowering his head, gently stroking Meng Shan’s hair with indulgence.

Meng Shan found solace in this; her agitated state gradually calming down with Lin Chen’s tender touch.

Meanwhile, after the monkey king devoured the figure’s entire body, the evil qi around it thickened, faintly indicating a breakthrough from the first to the second level of its spiritual fetus state.

It was actually advancing in strength by devouring!

Lin Chen’s expression sharpened, for he noticed the monkey king turning its head, its dull and murky eyes fixating upon them.

There was no emotion in those pupils, staring at them as if viewing mere prey.

”Not good! Run!”

Lin Chen shouted lightly, grabbing Meng Shan and swiftly retreating backward.

The monkey king before them was evidently in a state of unawareness, a monster solely intent on slaughter. Lin Chen dared not overestimate himself; he was already struggling against the previous opponent, and this spirit monkey surpassed that opponent’s strength by far, making confrontation impossible.

Immediately, he grabbed Meng Shan’s collar, flipping backward swiftly, and stood upright. With his toes tapping the ground lightly several times, his body moved with speed, fleeing toward the route they initially came from.

Without the strength of the previous opponent, Lin Chen resigned from attempting to reach the stone pillar, opting instead to circle the monkey king, racing toward the cave entrance they came through.

Clattering sounds echoed; the monkey king’s hands were moving, chains ripped from the sky-high rocky walls. Instantly, gravel descended like raindrops, shrouding the thick chains within.

Lin Chen’s gaze stiffened, internally confirming his suspicions.

The monkey king appeared as a killing machine, so he dared not indulge in negligence.

With one hand holding Meng Shan and the other wielding the Tianyan Ancient Sword, its tip plunged several inches into the ground, he abruptly raised it, prying massive rocks from the earth and hurling them swiftly toward the monkey king.

He did not expect this attack to thwart the monkey king entirely, merely hoping to stall its assault long enough for him to escape.

However, Lin Chen underestimated its power; the chain’s force far exceeded his imagination. Without impediment, the stone shattered and fell into fragments.

Lin Chen’s face slightly changed; he twisted his step on the ground, stalling his forward momentum, switching direction and rolling sideways.

Unlike the previous figure suspended mid-air, Lin Chen was grounded, swiftly rolling sideways, protecting Meng Shan in his embrace.

In that moment, the chain obliterated the spot Lin Chen was previously in, leaving a colossal pit.

Lin Chen’s expression was grim; though amazed by the monkey king’s strength, he remained composed, unlike the previous opponent who became disarrayed witnessing its formidable attack.

Endless battles taught Lin Chen that the more perilous the situation, the less warranted panic is.

The chain was deeply embedded, and the monkey king yanked its end, pulling it from deep underground.

Just then, Lin Chen squinted his eyes, the Tianyan Ancient Sword moved, spiritual energy emanated from within its blade; he raised it high, its cold gleam flashed as he swung downward, chopping toward the yet to retract chain.

A resounding bang erupted as metal clashed, a cascade of sparks flew, emitting a piercing noise that hummed in the ears.

Covering her ears, Meng Shan’s face paled; the violent noise was unbearable for someone like her, lacking cultivation.

Even Lin Chen was no better off; his hand numbed, the sword vibrating incessantly. The Tianyan Ancient Sword, sharp beyond measure, failed to sever the chain merely marking it deeply.

Simultaneously, as the chain became injured, Lin Chen glimpsed behind, seeing the monkey king’s figure temporally falter, its eyes restored some clarity.

Yet it lasted only a fleeting moment, as the evil qi swiftly resurfaced.

”Could it be that the chain is what’s devouring the monkey king’s consciousness?” Lin Chen speculated.

Roar!

An angry roar erupted; it recovered, tugging the chain while charging towards Lin Chen.

With huge strides, each step spanning several meters, within just a single breath, it was already upon Lin Chen.

Lin Chen moved instinctively; though fear was etched on his face, his heart remained unperturbed, retreating several steps. His gaze fell on the chain’s end—a human skeleton where the evil qi was exceptionally intense.

His eyes sharpened; he then hurled Meng Shan toward where the surviving fire monkeys lay.

Though grounded and immovable, their arms were still functional, extending long enough to catch Meng Shan mid-air, safeguarding her instantly.

”Stay there and don’t move!”

Lin Chen cautioned, then poised himself, the sword’s tip dragging along the ground, halting his backward movement and charging toward the monkey king.

As he sprinted, his attention fixated entirely on the skeleton behind the chain.

”Perhaps if I can shatter it, there’s a glimmer of hope!”
