Chapter 1495: Chapter 1496: Wolfish Ambition (Fifteenth Update)

Yu Tao and several hall masters of the Hua League are discussing how to fully take over Yu Lao’s family assets.

The reason Yu Fei was kidnapped by some thugs today was actually orchestrated by Yu Tao.

The Hua League is M Country’s largest Chinese organization, comprising casinos, nightclubs, and some restaurant enterprises.

These are the enterprises built by Yu Lao over decades.

In the past, the Hua League was arguably the number one gang in M Country’s Chinese community, but as time passed, Yu Lao decided to take the Hua League on a new path.

This new path was to cut off some dark revenues and operate legally.

This move undoubtedly brought some growing pains, with revenues noticeably declining and some casinos originally belonging to the Hua League being taken over by other forces.

Because of this, Yu Lao’s initiative left those big shots dissatisfied.

Yu Tao seized this opportunity. Previously when Yu Lao was robust, they dared not act, but now Yu Lao’s health is failing, so he allied with those big shots, aiming to take over the Hua League.

For this plan, Yu Fei is evidently a major obstacle to his success.

This time his plan is flawless; the only unexpected factor was the appearance of Lin Chen.

Just now, he was arranging the acquisition plan when suddenly the door was flung open.

Yu Tao’s face turned pale from the sudden turn of events.

Moreover, those hall masters of the Hua League were also terribly frightened.

After all, these people mixed in the underworld; being able to kick the door down proves this person’s formidable prowess.

”Yu Tao, what exactly are you doing? I hope you can give me an explanation.” Yu Fei followed Lin Chen into the room, bristling with anger.

In recent days, Yu Fei has noticed something amiss within the Hua League.

Especially Yu Tao secretly contacting those hall masters of the Hua League.

Yu Fei wanted to confront Yu Tao to clarify the situation, but this guy kept avoiding her.

Today, Yu Fei cornered him here naturally to demand the truth.

Lin Chen looked at the furious Yu Fei beside him and was slightly taken aback.

Lin Chen always thought Yu Fei was a delicate girl, but she showed no fear facing these mafia bosses; Lin Chen realized he had misjudged her.

This outwardly fragile girl has a rebellious character at her core.

Yu Tao was initially stunned to see Yu Fei, then a cold smirk appeared at the corner of his mouth.

”Sister, I don’t understand what you’re saying, what’s there for me to explain?” Yu Tao’s mind was indeed sharp, recovering from the brief shock with calm.

Yu Tao had been studying in Germany, and only recently returned to M Country.

Of course, his choice to return at this time was clear in intent—to compete with Yu Fei for the inheritance.

Able to gather these big shots around him in such a short time speaks to Yu Tao’s means.

Now he already controls seventy percent of the Hua League, with a few stubborn old men yet unsettled, and plans to take ruthless action after killing Yu Fei; unexpectedly, Yu Fei not only survived but appeared here to question him.

To rally support, Yu Tao naturally doesn’t wish to openly break ties with Yu Fei, but now with such turmoil caused by Yu Fei, his plans must be expedited.

Although his plan has some flaws, Yu Tao isn’t afraid; he has already largely controlled the Hua League, and Yu Fei is just a newly graduated college kid. The guy behind her, though skillful in combat, cannot cause substantial trouble.

”Yu Tao, how dare you! Grandpa is gravely ill, yet you don’t tend to him but instead conspire for power with the hall masters here.” Yu Fei said coldly.

Hearing Yu Fei’s words, Yu Tao’s face slightly changed, but quickly stabilized; he adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, smiling: ”Sister, you’re mistaken, I haven’t done anything wrong to you or Grandpa. Everything I do is for the Hua League, for you and Grandpa.”

Seeing Yu Tao’s insincere smile, Yu Fei felt a wave of nausea.

”I’m mistaken? Then let me ask, have you visited Grandpa since returning? Why do you keep avoiding me? And why have you gathered these high-ups here, what are you plotting?” Yu Fei coldly asked.

Listening to Yu Fei’s words, Yu Tao furrowed his brows.

Yu Fei’s questions left him no room. Her stance was clearly set on confronting him.

”What now, nothing to say?” Yu Fei snorted coldly, her gaze fell upon the hall masters beside Yu Tao.

”Uncles, you all followed Grandpa through life and death, he never treated you poorly, but today, what you’re doing—is it worthy of Grandpa? I can tell you, although Grandpa is seriously ill, he’s not confused; if I have him make a will, no matter your strategies, the Hua League still belongs to me.” Yu Fei said coldly.

Sure enough, hearing Yu Fei’s words, the hall masters’ faces changed slightly.

If the old man were to make a will, Yu Fei would still hold the Hua League’s power, siding with Yu Tao today would evidently be unwise.

Yu Tao’s gaze grew colder: ”A will, huh? M Country’s underground forces are stirring, countless factions eye our Hua League; if people know Grandpa is gravely ill, you know the consequences.”

Then Yu Tao’s eyes flashed with frost: ”Sister, M Country’s underworld isn’t as simple as you think, the matter of fighting and killing isn’t suitable for a girl like you; why not find a man to lead a quiet life? I’m doing this for your good, and if you insist on being stubborn...”

This time, Yu Tao no longer conceals, essentially revealing his hand to Yu Fei: I intend to seize your power, and what can you do? Behaving means a normal life, defiance means death.

Yu Fei naturally knows that if the news of Grandpa’s grave illness spreads now, the consequences would be dire. Other ambitious factions in M Country wouldn’t miss the chance to suppress the Hua League.

Thus, Grandpa would not make a will, which is why Yu Tao is confident.

Over the years, Grandpa intended to gradually legitimize the Hua League for Yu Fei to inherit it and run lawful businesses, but unexpectedly he fell ill, bedridden.

Now Yu Fei has no foundation within the Hua League, she’s seen merely as a little girl by those big shots, how could she control such a massive Hua League?

”Little Fei, Grandpa’s illness is indeed serious; I hired M Country’s best doctors to treat him. If you don’t cooperate, you know the consequences.” Yu Tao said coldly.

”You...” Yu Fei trembled with rage, knowing this guy was threatening her with Grandpa.

Yu Tao sneered: ”Little Fei, as I said, obey me, and I won’t ill-treat you; otherwise...”

”Or what!” Yu Fei clenched her fists in fury, trembling all over.
