Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 522: Chapter 523: Entrance to the Netherworld

Feeling the fluctuation of Spiritual Power within the Spirit Talisman, Lin Chen’s heart leapt with joy, Wu Feng had awakened.

A Soul Body shot out from the Spirit Talisman, it was Wu Feng who had awoken from his deep slumber.

”Your presence seems to have grown much stronger!” Lin Chen exclaimed with surprise.

Wu Feng nodded, ”While I was asleep, I came to realize many things, hence my cultivation improved. Thank you, Lin Chen, for allowing me to awaken once more.”

Lin Chen smiled and said, ”Why thank me? If it hadn’t been for me, you might have been reduced to ashes.”

”This time I consider it a blessing in disguise. I have found a path of cultivation that is my own,” Wu Feng declared.

”Really? How do we do that?” Lin Chen asked, also delighted.

By now, Lin Chen had come to regard Wu Feng as a brother. If Wu Feng could find his own place of belonging, Lin Chen was naturally happy for him.

Wu Feng spoke in a solemn voice, ”Lin Chen, can you take me back to the Wu family?”

”Sure, no problem,” Lin Chen agreed earnestly, nodding his head.

After bidding farewell to the Miao family, Lin Chen booked the next available flight and headed directly to the Xiyu Province where the Wu family’s Nether Village was located.

After getting off the plane and driving for seven or eight hours, Lin Chen finally arrived at Wu Feng’s home in Nether Village.

It was a small village, cut off from the rest of the world. According to Wu Feng, this village led to The Peaceful Realms, and the Wu family were the Guardians guarding the entrance to this realm.

Because of this, the small mountain village was incredibly mysterious, even earning the reputation of being a ghost village with many spine-chilling legends, which meant that apart from the natives, very few people visited Nether Village.

When Lin Chen arrived at Nether Village, it was already late, and everything was eerily quiet. The flickering lights not too far away resembled will-o’-the-wisps mentioned in stories, casting an uncanny ambiance.

The closer Lin Chen got to Nether Village, the denser the chill of the underworld he felt.

Indeed, as Wu Feng had described, this village was an entrance to The Peaceful Realms.

Lin Chen followed a rugged path towards the village, but after a while, he suddenly realized he was going in circles in the same spot.

Wu Feng chuckled, ”This is a Formation set by the elders of our village. Since the yin energy is very heavy at night, they set up this small Formation to prevent travelers from accidentally wandering into the Nether from our village. Someone will be coming out soon.”

At that moment, the air rippled, and an old man with white hair abruptly appeared before Lin Chen.

The old man was as thin as a skeleton, his eyes sunken deep. In the darkness, his eyes twinkled brightly, casting an exceedingly eerie presence.

Fortunately, Lin Chen was a Martial Artist, otherwise, an ordinary person would certainly think they had encountered a ghost.

The senior sized Lin Chen up and said indifferently, ”Young man, you should go back. Our village does not welcome strangers.”

Just then, Wu Feng burst out from the Spirit Talisman, speaking with some agitation, ”Grandfather, it’s Feng’er.”

”Feng’er!” The old man’s murky eyes shone briefly with clarity, then he sighed.

”Feng’er, it seems you still couldn’t escape that curse.”

Lin Chen had heard from Wu Feng that there was a curse in Nether Village. The villagers were destined to guard the entrance to The Peaceful Realms from generation to generation. Once they left the village, they would lose their physical body, leaving behind only a fragmented soul.

Now Wu Feng was a living proof of that curse. Having left Nether Village at the age of sixteen against his family’s wishes, he indeed returned as nothing more than a fragment of a soul.

Lin Chen and the old man arrived at Nether Village, which surprisingly still retained the state of primitive society; the entire village lacked electric lights and televisions, and illumination depended solely on oil lamps.

Following the old man into a thatched cottage, the old man finally said, ”You’re Wu Feng’s friend, aren’t you? You have taken great care of Feng’er during this time.”

Lin Chen smiled and said, ”Wu Feng is my brother; it’s only right that I look after him.”

In Nether Village, since the yin energy was very heavy, Wu Feng’s soul body didn’t need to hide inside a spirit talisman.

”Grandfather, I want to enter The Peaceful Realms,” Wu Feng said earnestly to the old man.

”What, you want to enter The Peaceful Realms!” The old man’s hand trembled upon hearing Wu Feng’s words.

”Indeed, only by entering The Peaceful Realms will I be able to find the dream that belongs to me,” Wu Feng continued.

”No, I don’t agree,” Wu Feng’s grandfather said coldly as he knocked his tobacco pipe.

”Your father and your second uncle both entered The Peaceful Realms, but they never returned. What it’s like in there, nobody knows. I can’t let you take this risk. With your soul still present you still have a chance to restore your physical body. If you lose your soul too, then you really will have nothing left,” Wu Feng’s grandfather declared with finality.

”Grandfather, I’m now just a soul body. Restoring my physical body? How many people in this world who have lost their physical bodies have been able to successfully restore them? Perhaps entering The Peaceful Realms might give me a way out. I don’t want to spend my whole life as a lonely ghost,” Wu Feng said as he knelt before the old man.

The old man let out a long sigh, ”Alright, maybe this is the fate of our Wu family. Since you’re determined to go, I won’t stop you.”

Upon hearing his grandfather’s words, Wu Feng’s spirits lifted, ”Don’t worry, Grandfather, I will come back; I will bring back both Dad and Second Uncle.”

The old man shook his head, ”They say The Peaceful Realms that we guard does have not only an entrance but also an exit. Anyone who can walk out of The Peaceful Realms can not only regain a physical body but also obtain great power. Yet, no one who has entered The Peaceful Realms in this world has ever come back. Feng’er, you must think it over carefully.”

A firm resolve flashed in Wu Feng’s eyes, ”Rest assured, Grandfather, I’ll be the first to walk out.”

Lin Chen, the old man, and Wu Feng made their way along the mountain path to the back mountain, where they halted in front of a stone well.

The stone well appeared bottomless, and a gloomy yin energy was emanating from its depths.

”Alright, below here is The Peaceful Realms. Are you truly determined to go, Feng’er?” the old man asked.

”Yes, my mind is made up,” Wu Feng replied deeply.

Turning around, Wu Feng said, ”Lin Chen, thank you for bringing me back here.”

Lin Chen expressed his concern, ”Wu Feng, The Peaceful Realms are full of unknowns. It might be better for you to stay by my side, and I’ll continue to look for ways to restore your physical body.”

Wu Feng shook his head, ”Thank you, Lin Chen. Don’t you think my personality is more suited to The Peaceful Realms? In the world of the living, I am the master of spirits, but even in The Peaceful Realms, I will be the King of the Nether.”

Lin Chen shook his head helplessly, ”You...”

After exchanging a few more words, Wu Feng looked at the red cloud on the horizon and smiled, ”Grandfather, Lin Chen, I’m leaving. One day, I will come back.”

With that, Wu Feng leaped resolutely into the depths of the well.

Watching Wu Feng’s vanishing shadow, Lin Chen drew a deep breath, ”The Peaceful Realms... I really know too little about this world.”

After saying goodbye to the old man, Lin Chen embarked on his journey to Kunlun.

As the plane took off, Lin Chen looked at the clouds outside and clenched his fists, ”The three-year agreement has finally arrived. Xiaowen, wait for me; I’m coming to take you away from Kunlun.”
