Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 497: Chapter 498 Help

”Spare me?”

Lin Chen frowned and looked towards the door.

A woman in a red cheongsam entered, and upon seeing Lin Chen, a smile immediately spread across her face.

This young girl bore a striking resemblance to Mu Yunxue, only she had an icy demeanor in contrast to Mu Yunxue’s more approachable presence.

”It is actually President Mu!” Many employees of Taoyuan Group showed surprise on their faces upon seeing Mu Yunxue.

It was known that President Mu seldom made appearances at the company unless there was a major issue or a highly important visitor. Could her presence be due to this young man?

”Mr. Lin, hello. My name is Mu Yunya, the sister of Mu Yunxue. My sister has told me about your situation. There must be some misunderstanding. Please, Mr. Lin, do not be angry. I will investigate the matter thoroughly and give you an explanation,” she said.

”President Mu, you’re saying this is a misunderstanding? May I know if this is how Taoyuan Group operates, allowing anyone with a knife to come in and kill at will? Are all these security guards and martial experts at the door just freeloaders?” Lin Chen retorted.

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Mu Yunya furrowed her brows and stared coldly at the Taoyuan Group employees, asking, ”What happened here?”

The high-level executives of Taoyuan Group looked at each other, but none spoke up.

”Zhang Yang, explain to me why something like this happened in our company,” Mu Yunya demanded coolly.

Zhang Yang was in charge of the security department at Taoyuan Group. When Mu Yunya addressed him, his face changed.

Wary of Wu Xiang, he still decided to protect his own interests. Though on good terms with Wu Xiang typically, given the circumstances, he was naturally not going to take the fall for him.

”President Mu, when the Bai family came, we indeed tried to stop them. However, Manager Wu insisted that we do not intervene, which led to the subsequent events,” Zhang Yang claimed with grievance.

”Is that so, Wu Xiang?” Mu Yunya replied, her expression turning cold after hearing Zhang Yang’s words.

Wu Xiang’s face shifted slightly as his eyes darted around before he said, ”President Mu, that’s correct. But I had the company’s interests at heart. The Bai family came aggressively, and I thought they only wanted to confront Mr. Lin. To avoid unnecessary conflict, I did not let our staff get involved. However, I could not have dreamed that things would escalate like this, with Mr. Lin killing the Bai family member out of nowhere. In an attempt to protect Mr. Lin, I urged him to leave, but he refused and even injured me.”

Wu Xiang was particularly cunning, managing to exonerate himself completely, while portraying Lin Chen as an unreasonable, bloodthirsty man.

After listening to Wu Xiang, Lin Chen laughed, ”Manager Wu, you mean to say that when the Bai family attacked to kill me, I shouldn’t have defended myself, and I should have let them kill me without a fight? According to your statement, you reported to the Bai family to come and kill me, and I should be thanking you, should I not?”

”What nonsense are you talking about? What evidence do you have that I tipped off anyone?” Wu Xiang retorted with a cold snort.

At that moment, Lin Chen produced a mobile phone in his hand, upon seeing which Wu Xiang’s complexion changed.

Lin Chen turned on the phone, pulled up the call history, and handed it to Mu Yunya.

”President Mu, I...” Wu Xiang inwardly cursed himself; he should have deleted the call logs earlier. He could never have anticipated that during their brief scuffle, Lin Chen would inconspicuously snatch his phone.

Mu Yunya looked at the call history, her face growing increasingly grim. The recent calls were all made to the Bai family, which meant there was irrefutable evidence of Wu Xiang tipping them off.

”Wu Xiang, I hope you can provide me with a reasonable explanation,” Lin Chen said coldly.

”I...” Wu Xiang’s face turned ashen.

Mu Yunxue approached Lin Chen with an apologetic face, ”Mr. Lin, this incident was our problem. On behalf of the Taoyuan Corporation, I offer you an apology.”

Lin Chen spoke indifferently, ”Because of this person, I nearly lost my life. Is an apology all it takes? I want to know how you are going to handle him.”

”This!” Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Mu Yunxue found herself in a difficult position.

Wu Xiang was one of the several powerhouses in the Taoyuan Corporation, and most importantly, he was a member of the Wu family. Punishing him too severely would undoubtedly offend the Wu family.

”Mr. Lin, I will make him apologize to you in person. What do you think?” Mu Yunxue tentatively asked.

After hearing Mu Yunxue’s words, Lin Chen laughed, ”President Mu, do you think I, Lin Chen, am easy to bully? Because of this person, my life was almost taken, and you think it all ends with an apology? I, Lin Chen, do not seek trouble, but I am not afraid of it either. If others show me respect, I return it manifold, but if someone tries to harm me, I will certainly not let it go easily.”

Mu Yunxue glanced at Wu Xiang, then looked at Lin Chen and bit her silver teeth before asking, ”Mr. Lin, how do you suggest we handle it?”

Lin Chen snorted coldly, ”Out of respect for you, I can spare his life, but I require one of his legs to be crippled, and he must be expelled from the company. That is the lightest punishment.”

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Wu Xiang’s face suddenly turned pale, ”President Mu, I’ve followed you for so many years, you can’t do this to me, don’t listen to this bastard’s words.”

Mu Yunxue’s gaze turned icy as she looked at Wu Xiang. In fact, she didn’t want to cripple him, but Yunxue had once said that Lin Chen was no ordinary man, and his future was boundless.

Today, he managed to kill more than twenty people including the Bai family’s elder, proving Lin Chen’s formidable power.

After some contemplation, Mu Yunxue finally made up her mind, ”Wu Xiang, as a manager of the company, you committed fraud and betrayed the information of our distinguished guests to collude with the Bai family. If I do not take action, how can Taoyuan Corporation stand in the martial world? You have brought this on yourself. From this moment onwards, you are no longer an employee of our Taoyuan Corporation.”

As her words fell, Mu Yunxue snorted coldly and with a flick of her hand, three silver needles pierced Wu Xiang’s left leg.

”Ah!” Accompanied by a scream, Wu Xiang collapsed to the ground.

The three silver needles from Mu Yunxue had directly pierced his tendons, rendering his left leg completely useless.

Wu Xiang let out a scream, the intense pain causing him to faint on the spot.

”Someone, take him away,” Mu Yunxue said coldly.

Then Mu Yunxue turned around with a smile and asked, ”Mr. Lin, are you satisfied with this handling of the matter?”

Lin Chen nodded and replied, ”It’s acceptable, I suppose!”

In fact, Lin Chen didn’t have a deep grudge against Wu Xiang, but what he wanted was a gesture, an attitude from the Taoyuan Corporation towards him.

If Mu Yunxue had not taken action against Wu Xiang, then Lin Chen would have broken off with the Taoyuan Corporation from then on.

Seeing that Lin Chen approved of her handling, Mu Yunxue finally breathed a sigh of relief, ”Mr. Lin, I heard from my sister that you know a high-level Alchemist, is that correct?”

Lin Chen nodded and said, ”Indeed, he is my teacher.”

Mu Yunxue’s face lit up with joy, ”Mr. Lin, I have a favor to ask. If you can do this for us, not only will I give you the Concentration Grass without charging a penny, but you can also select three items from our company’s warehouse.”

”What favor?” Lin Chen asked, perplexed. What could it be that would make Mu Yunxue offer such a high price!
