Lin Chen approached a nearby stall and bought a delicate little jade bottle, then he poured the medicinal liquid from the iced tea into it.

”Lin Brother, it’s hopeless. I’ve been trying to sell all day, and nobody is even looking,” the young Taoist said gloomily.

Lin Chen shook the dirty iced tea bottle with a smile: ”With a bottle like this, even I wouldn’t want it.”

Tossing the iced tea bottle aside, Lin Chen’s gaze swept through the crowd.

Suddenly, Lin Chen’s eyes lit up, and he walked over to a middle-aged woman leaning on a walking stick.

”Auntie, you’re here to pray for blessings on the mountain, aren’t you!” Lin Chen said cheerfully.

”Yes! I’ve been suffering from rheumatism for the past two years, and my legs have not been well. I heard this Taoist temple is very effective, so I wanted to give it a try.”

After hearing the middle-aged woman’s words, Lin Chen smiled: ”Auntie, this Taoist temple is indeed very effective, but it is just a branch. That young Taoist over there comes from a prestigious Taoist family, and this time, he’s here to save all beings by offering free treatment for diseases. He can cure all kinds of stubborn illnesses, and there’s only one spot available. Would you like to give it a try?”

”Really?” The middle-aged woman’s eyes brightened as she looked towards the young Taoist.

”Young man, that young Taoist looks a bit unreliable because he’s so dirty!” the middle-aged woman whispered.

Lin Chen smiled faintly: ”The truly capable ones are not particular about their appearance, just think about the legendary Ji Gong.”

After hearing Lin Chen’s words, the middle-aged woman was half-convinced and approached the young Taoist’s stall.

The young Taoist was taken aback when Lin Chen brought over a customer so quickly.

Lin Chen smiled and said, ”Auntie, it should be painful here, right?”

The middle-aged woman nodded: ”Yes, that’s right.”

As word spread that someone was providing free medical treatment, quite a crowd gathered around.

”Look at this young man, he’s so young, he must be a swindler,” an old man said, shaking his head.

”A bottle of medicine that can cure illnesses, how is that possible!”

”Exactly, I’ve seen many of these Riverside Sorcerers,” another bystander said, shaking his head.

By this time, Lin Chen had already applied the medicinal liquid to the middle-aged woman’s leg.

The middle-aged woman felt a warm sensation in her leg, and the very next moment, she was astonished to find that the leg pain that had troubled her for years was gone.

”How is that possible!” The middle-aged woman excitedly tossed her walking stick to the side.

She stood up and even took a few steps.

”It’s true, it really works!” the middle-aged woman exclaimed excitedly.

Lin Chen smiled faintly: ”Ladies and gentlemen, today we only have one free spot. If you have any stubborn diseases that you would like to cure, please line up. There’s no charge if the treatment doesn’t work, 3,000 yuan per person, and there’s only one chance. So, everyone, take the opportunity seriously!”

After hearing Lin Chen’s words, many were skeptical, but many of those who had come to the Taoist temple to offer incense were patients with stubborn illnesses. Some had even spent tens of thousands of yuan to cure their diseases, so a good number of people still came forward to try with a hopeful attitude.

The following patients were handed over to the young Taoist by Lin Chen.

One patient who had asthma was given a small bowl of Spiritual Liquid by the young Taoist, and his asthma was miraculously cured.

Another patient had a large bump on his head, and as the young Taoist applied the Spiritual Liquid to it, the swelling on that person’s head visibly reduced.

Soon, word spread that the young Taoist from the Lingxiao Temple could cure diseases, and more and more people gathered around his stall.

The bottle of Spiritual Liquid quickly ran out, and the little Taoist stood up with a smile, ”Everyone, I’m sorry but the Spiritual Liquid is gone, please disperse.”

Many people in line were a bit disappointed and frustrated, reluctantly dispersing. In just one hour, the little Taoist had made nearly two hundred thousand.

Gazing at the bag full of money, the Taoist was almost dumbstruck. He had been selling medicine here for two days without any customers, yet Lin Chen managed to sell more than two hundred thousand in a single hour.

The Taoist initially wanted to give half of the earnings to Lin Chen, but Lin Chen refused it.

At that moment, a melodious sound of music came from not far away. It happened that the local education bureau nearby was holding a Hope Project education assistance ceremony.

Unexpectedly to Lin Chen, the little Taoist, carrying the bag of money, went straight to the educational assistance ceremony.

A staff member frowned upon seeing the Taoist, ”Hey, Taoist, go pick through the trash further away, can’t you see the leaders are speaking? Don’t block the camera.”

The Taoist frowned after hearing what the staff member said and with a shrug of his shoulders, he shook off the staff member’s hand.

The staff member still wanted to chase after the Taoist but found that in just an instant, the Taoist was already at the edge of the stage.

For God’s sake, am I seeing things? How could he move that fast?

The staff member rubbed his eyes, his face full of disbelief.

The bag the Taoist was carrying was indeed very heavy, yet with such a huge bag, he managed to jump nearly two meters high onto the stage with ease—how was that possible?

The leader, who was speaking, paused in surprise as the Taoist suddenly appeared on stage, but as a leader who was considered people-friendly, he stopped speaking and asked with a smile, ”May I ask what brings you here, little Daoist?”

”Secretary Wang, it’s my dereliction of duty that let this Taoist get up here, I’ll pull him down right away,” the staff member, sweating, hurried over.

”You, didn’t you say the leaders are speaking? Get down now, or I’ll call security,” scolded the staff member to the Taoist.

Secretary Wang frowned, ”Yuan Bo, haven’t I told you before? You need to mingle with the public. What kind of behavior is this, shouting and making a fuss? Since this little Daoist has come to me, there must be a reason.”

With that, Secretary Wang approached the Taoist with a warm smile, ”Daoist, I am the County Party Secretary of Tianrou County, what brings you here, do you have a grievance or something you need to ask the government for?”

The Taoist smiled faintly and plopped the large bag down on the ground.

”I want to donate money to the children in impoverished areas,” said the Taoist lightly.

Secretary Wang was taken aback and then smiled, ”Donating money, that’s good, but the donation box is down below!”

The Taoist scratched his head; the donation box was too small to fit everything.

”What?” Secretary Wang was stunned when he heard the Taoist’s words.

”Dressed in those tattered clothes, how much money could you have?” scoffed the staff member disdainfully.

When the Taoist opened the bag, and everyone saw the red hundred-yuan banknotes inside, they were all astounded.

The staff member’s face immediately turned as red as a liver, his eyes bulging.

Even more shocking were the Taoist’s next words, ”All the money in this bag, I donate it.”

Boom! The entire venue was in an uproar. A bag full of hundred-yuan banknotes, totaling nearly two hundred thousand—this plainly-dressed young man was donating it all!

Lin Chen, watching the Taoist standing calmly on the stage, couldn’t help but nod in approval.

Some people have a lot of money but would rather squander it than give a cent to those in need. Others may not live luxuriously, but are willing to offer everything they have to help others.

Influenced by the Taoist, Lin Chen also stepped onto the stage, ”Secretary Wang, I too will donate one million, to provide educational funds for the impoverished students of our county.”
