Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 248: Chapter 248: The Disappearing Fourth Step

Early in the morning, a ray of sunlight pierced into the room, and Lin Chen opened his eyes and looked towards the bed.

The lingering scent remained, but the beauty was gone.

Considering even the formidable Bing Ling had been heavily injured, the opponent’s strength must be terrifying. Lin Chen had now glimpsed the harshness of the ancient martial world.

Currently, his own strength was too feeble. Were a powerful someone to appear, it would only take minutes to eliminate him. Therefore, Lin Chen dared not delay and entered the Prison of Time to cultivate.

In one month, Lin Chen had devoted almost all his time to cultivation.

Now, Lin Chen could step into the second layer of the Prison of Time to cultivate, accelerating his training even further.

In the morning, he cultivated the fire spell, in the afternoon, the metal spell, and at night he meditated to expand his Qi Sea.

Though Bing Ling was not there, Lin Chen still had the renowned teacher, the Human Energy System. He had mastered the primary fire spell ”Flame Burst” and the primary metal spell ”Thunder Clap.” More incredibly, under the near inhumane torment of the Human Energy System, Lin Chen also created two signature moves: ”Raging Flames Eight Extremes Collapse” and ”Spiral Burst Slash.”

In the Prison of Time, Lin Chen’s eyes were tightly closed, and in his palms, one held a roaring flame, the other radiated dazzling lightning.

Suddenly, Lin Chen’s eyes snapped open, and the flames and lightning in his hands quietly disappeared.

Today was Monday, and the first group training session at the Martial Arts Academy was about to begin.

The Martial Arts Academy was a newly-joined institution for martial artists in the Martial Arts Federation. This time, eighteen young martial artists entered the academy.

Eighteen students sat in the classroom, waiting for the instructor.

Tap, tap, tap!

Accompanied by the crisp sound of high heels, a woman dressed in a black business suit entered Lin Chen’s view.

Damn, she’s gorgeous!

A murmur of amazement swept through the class, especially among the boys, who stared blankly at the beautiful female instructor standing in front of the podium.

Tall and slender, with a narrow waist, cascading brown hair, a flawless, beautiful face, and notably, the small mountain at her chest stood proudly as if ready to break free at any moment.

”Hello, everyone. My name is Lu Xiaofeng. I’ll be your instructor for this one-month training session. I hope everyone uses the limited time we have to study seriously. There will be a final test at the end of this training session, and only those who pass can officially join the Martial Arts Federation. Those who fail will lose their chance to enter the federation. Does everyone understand?”

Listening to her voice, laced with a touch of allure, almost all the boys in the class were on the brink of melting. Their attention was focused on the vigorous waves at Lu Xiaofeng’s chest, and as for what she was talking about—who knows how many were actually listening. Lin Chen certainly hadn’t.

The first lecture Lu Xiaofeng gave was theoretical, basically similar to what Bing Ling had taught. After listening for a while, Lin Chen lost interest and shifted into a state of enlightenment.

While Lin Chen was intimately communicating with the Fire Spirit and the Thunder Spirit, a piece of chalk struck him on the head.

Lin Chen was jolted out of his enlightening state and looked around blankly.

He saw that everyone in the class was mockingly staring at him, while Lu Xiaofeng frowned slightly as she stared at him.

Next to him, Hao Lin pointed to the blackboard, hinting to Lin Chen.

Lu Xiaofeng’s gaze was icy as she looked at Lin Chen, ”What was I just talking about?”

Lin Chen looked at the blackboard, which detailed the steps for releasing a spell.

”Instructor, I guess this guy hasn’t even mastered the Fire Spirit. Listening is a waste for him; he might as well have slept,” joked Zhou Ming with a mocking laugh.

”What a pity for such good attributes to be wasted on this piece of trash. It’s a sheer waste,” his lackey Sun Peng chimed in.

”Idiots!” Lin Chen glared at the two, then stood up from his seat.

”Releasing a Spell should consist of five steps!”

As soon as Lin Chen spoke, the classroom erupted in roaring laughter.

”Five steps, you can’t even grasp this most basic knowledge, Lin Chen, you might as well go home and watch films from the Island Nation!” Zhou Ming ridiculed.

”This poor loser shouldn’t even be sitting here, he’s simply desecrating the sacred Martial Arts.” Sun Peng also laughed so hard he doubled over, clutching his stuffed belly.

Lu Xiaofeng’s eyes narrowed slightly as she coldly said to Lin Chen, ”Then tell me, what are those five steps?”

Lin Chen pondered for a moment and said, ”The first step is to gather elemental spirits.”

Lu Xiaofeng nodded and responded, ”Hmm, good, continue.”

”The second step, control the elemental spirits to form a solid form.”

”The third step, control the elemental spirits to achieve balance, stabilizing the energy.”

Lin Chen recited the first three steps without a single error, which greatly frustrated Zhou Ming, who had hoped to see him ridiculed.

Step four, integrate your mind with the elemental spirits.

”Wait a minute!”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Ming was overjoyed. He had finally caught Lin Chen making a mistake.

”Lin Chen, have you gone mad or dumb? Integrating your mind with such volatile energy, do you have a self-destructive tendency?”

”Haha, what utter nonsense, Lin Chen, you must still be dreaming!” Sun Peng also mocked.

”He really dares to say it, it’s utterly preposterous.”

The classroom was filled with the whispering voices of people, most of whom were mocking Lin Chen’s crazy theories.

”Silence!” Suddenly, Lu Xiaofeng’s beautiful eyes flickered as she fixed her gaze on Lin Chen.

”Actually, what Lin Chen said is correct. Ancient texts do record such a practice. Originally, releasing a Spell did indeed involve five steps, and the fourth step is indeed as Lin Chen described. However, because very few people could achieve it, and since it easily led to Deviation, our predecessors omitted this step,” Lu Xiaofeng said slowly, her expression tinged with shock.

”What? There really is such a thing.” Everyone was stunned.

At that moment, Lin Chen almost cursed out loud, ”Why didn’t you tell me earlier that the fourth step was so dangerous, System?”

The pain of practicing the fourth step was still fresh in Lin Chen’s memory; he had almost been tormented to death trying to complete it, and only now did he realize that step could have been skipped.

The System disdainfully responded, ”Removing the fourth step makes the released Spell mere trash. Qi Sea Systems always produce quality—that won’t allow trash to emerge.”

”Damn, you’re harsh,” Lin Chen helplessly retorted.

”Lin Chen, where did you see this?” Lu Xiaofeng asked curiously, her beautiful eyes still intently fixed on him.

Since the fourth step had not been written into the Cultivation Techniques or texts for a hundred years, she also had only heard about it occasionally from her master. It was unexpected that Lin Chen knew this lost fourth step.

Lin Chen scratched his head, ”I also saw it by chance in a book.”

Lu Xiaofeng nodded, ”It’s enough that everyone knows about the fourth step, but do not attempt it. Otherwise, if you fall into Deviation, it would render you useless.”

Listening to this, Lin Chen felt a chill in his heart and a wave of relief that he had survived.

At this moment, Lu Xiaofeng looked at Lin Chen with even more curiosity. Such ancient texts are usually only possessed by major families with vast libraries, and yet Lin Chen had read them. So, what powerful backing did this seemingly ordinary boy have?
