Chapter 245: Chapter 245 Time to Settle Accounts

Feeling the murderous intent emanating from Lin Chen, Zhou Bin was already scared witless, sitting paralyzed on the ground. Zhou Dongqiang remained comparatively calm, putting on a forced smile. ”Little brother, it was all a misunderstanding. Let’s talk this over nicely!”

”What is there to talk about? Just now, you said that one of my hands is worth 100,000 yuan. Let’s stick to the old rules,” Lin Chen said coldly as he stared at Zhou Dongqiang.

”What!” Zhou Dongqiang’s face changed upon hearing Lin Chen’s words.

His son had just been slapped fifty times and had turned into a pig’s head. If he himself were to be slapped one hundred and eighty times, then what would become of his face?

”No, please, I can give you money. Spare me,” pleaded Zhou Dongqiang, his voice trembling.

Lin Chen looked at him icily and raised his arm. ”Spare you? Sorry, I won’t spare a single person from the Zhou family.”

Just then, the sound of a police siren erupted from behind, and a police car came rushing over, its siren blaring.

Lin Chen frowned. ”Busybodies have arrived.”

Zhou Dongqiang, as if seeing a lifeline, started shouting excitedly, ”The cops are here, you’re as good as dead, kid.”

”Slap!”

A crisp slap rang out, and Zhou Dongqiang stumbled and fell to the ground.

”Shut up!”

After slapping Zhou Dongqiang, Lin Chen turned around.

He saw the police car stop, and three officers got out.

Upon seeing the policewoman at the lead, Lin Chen couldn’t help but smile. It was an old acquaintance.

There was Qin Mengfan, her police cap on her head, wearing a dark blue police uniform that tightly contained her pronounced curves, with long, slim, fair legs revealed below her skirt, exuding charm and sexiness.

Her tall figure and wasp-waisted silhouetted paired with a delicate face like that of a heavenly nymph invoked an urge to commit a crime.

”Nobody move!” Accompanied by a sharp command, Qin Mengfan charged over with the two other cops.

”It’s you?” Qin Mengfan was startled upon seeing Lin Chen.

Lin Chen nodded. ”Officer Qin, you look very pretty in your uniform!”

Qin Mengfan’s cheeks turned slightly red, and she glared at Lin Chen. ”What’s going on here?”

Before Lin Chen could speak, Zhou Dongqiang, with a face full of grief and indignation, cried out, ”Comrade officer, quickly arrest this thug. Look at those people on the ground; he’s the one who injured them. I suspect this guy is definitely a murderer.”

Lin Chen smiled faintly. ”Mr. Zhou, you sure have some nerve. It seems it was you who brought people to chop off my hands and feet. This counts as self-defense, right? Also, there’s a camera right above us; it can bear witness for me.”

”Alright, no more talking, take them all back to the station. We’ll get to the bottom of this once we’ve conducted our investigation,” said Qin Mengfan, frowning slightly. Although she knew Lin Chen, now she had to follow protocol; otherwise, she would be accused of corruption.”

”Hey, comrade officer, he’s an extremely dangerous individual. Why aren’t you handcuffing him?” Zhou Dongqiang asked, somewhat dissatisfied, from the side.

”We conduct our investigations our way. It’s not your place to tell us what to do. Please also accompany us back to the station for further inquiries,” Qin Mengfan said coldly.

”Hmph, I’m telling you to handcuff him, and you must. Do you know who I am? You dare to talk back to me. Let me tell you, even your chief of police has to grovel before me, yet you, a mere cop, dare to be insolent in my presence,” Zhou Dongqiang roared, not putting this young policewoman in his eyes at all.

”I don’t care who you are. Right now, both parties are suspects, and I have the authority to summon you. Please cooperate with our work,” Qin Mengfan said sternly.

”All right, you little brat, you dare treat me as a suspect. Believe it or not, I could strip you of your uniform in a minute,” Zhou Dongqiang said, completely devoid of his earlier cowardice and now full of arrogance.

”Please cooperate with our work, or we will resort to force,” Qin Mengfan stated, her attitude still unyielding.

”What, you want to arrest me too, huh? Today, I’ll show you just how tough I am,” Zhou Dongqiang vented all his fury on Qin Mengfan instead of Lin Chen, raising his arm to slap her delicate face.

Qin Mengfan had been holding back her anger, but when she saw this guy daring to strike, her eyebrows knitted, and she reached out to grab Zhou Dongqiang’s swinging arm, twisted it forcefully, and twisted his hand behind his back, pulling out handcuffs and cuffing his hands behind him.

”You dare to handcuff my dad!” At this moment, Zhou Bin, as if emboldened from nowhere, hurled himself at Qin Mengfan like a madman.

The next instant, Lin Chen abruptly appeared in front of Qin Mengfan and kicked out.

”Ah!”

Accompanied by a scream, Zhou Bin was kicked seven or eight meters away by Lin Chen, landing face-first in a classic face plant, writhing in pain while clutching his stomach.

Lin Chen clapped his hands cheerfully, ”Does this count as cooperating with the police investigation?”

Looking at Zhou Bin lying on the ground, Qin Mengfan nodded, ”Thank you for your cooperation.”

”Bastards, how dare you collude with the officials, you’re all dead! If I don’t kill you all, my name isn’t Zhou,” Zhou Dongqiang raged, handcuffed, watching his son being kicked away by Lin Chen, screaming like a pig being slaughtered.

Without further ado, Qin Mengfan shoved Zhou Dongqiang into the police car.

At this time, a junior police officer whispered to Qin Mengfan, ”Captain, Zhou Dongqiang is a well-known entrepreneur and he’s very close to our chief. Your actions...”

”No matter who it is, anyone who breaks the law must be severely punished by the law,” Qin Mengfan stated firmly.

The police car with a siren blaring drove into the police station. As there was video evidence, the case was very clear: Zhou Dongqiang came to hit Lin Chen but ended up being beaten by Lin Chen in self-defense.

”Alright, it was self-defense, you can go now,” Qin Mengfan said indifferently after watching the video footage.

”Who said he could go?” Just then, a cold voice sounded from behind.

Qin Mengfan frowned at the sight of the newcomer, it was the deputy chief of the police station, Tian Xiaotian.

”Chief Tian, the case is very clear, it was Zhou Dongqiang who came looking for trouble with Lin Chen, that’s why he acted in self-defense...” Qin Mengfan started to explain, but Tian Xiaotian interrupted her.

”Even if it were legitimate self-defense, it’s still excessive defense, bring me the handcuffs,” ordered Tian Xiaotian with a wave of his hand.

Zhou Dongqiang’s face lit up with joy upon seeing Tian Xiaotian, ”Chief Tian, you’ve finally arrived. Please stand up for me!”

At that moment, two police officers approached with handcuffs, intending to handcuff Lin Chen.

Qin Mengfan frowned and stepped in front of Lin Chen, ”Chief Tian, this isn’t following protocol.”

”Protocol? Here, I am the protocol. And you’ve been working too hard lately. Take a month off and go home to rest,” Tian Xiaotian said coldly.

The two police officers moved past Qin Mengfan and toward Lin Chen.

Qin Mengfan’s expression turned very ugly as she said coldly, ”Chief Tian, I will report this matter to the city bureau.”

A cold smile played on the corner of Tian Xiaotian’s mouth, by the time Qin Lan reported the issue, Lin Chen would have already been coerced into confessing. By then, everything would be settled, and what could Qin Mengfan do?

”Kid, you’re done for, you’re dead meat,” Zhou Dongqiang laughed maniacally.

Lin Chen’s gaze turned icy as he walked towards Zhou Dongqiang, ”That’s right, you still owe me one hundred and eighty slaps, time to settle the account!”
