I Reincarnated as a Support Character with an S-Rank Harem, So What?

Just before disappearing among the clouds, Ryan watched as Karol stowed her staff into the small magical inventory she possessed.

Although she continued to produce lightning.

They no longer reached Ryan.

And gradually, Karol’s form began to change until she reverted to her child-like state.

Ryan maintained the flight; after shaking the reins, the creature began to move at high speed, cutting through the clouds.

”Where are we going?” Beatrice asked. She was leaning against Ryan’s back, her arms circling his waist.

’So, in a way, this means we are no longer in danger, doesn’t it?’

”For now we’re going to Erhes Valley. That was the place where we said goodbye the last time. Do you remember it?”

”Of course I remember... how could I possibly forget after everything you did to me?”

”Ha ha, yeah, you’re right.”

She fell silent, but rested her head against Ryan’s back.

And she tightened her grip on his waist just a little bit more.

”But are you really okay with this?” she asked, her voice sounding somewhat faint.

Though they were traveling at high speed, her voice sounded very soft, as the wind practically carried the words away.

Ryan was still able to hear her.

”What do you mean!” He spoke loudly. The air beat against his face, and his hair whipped about in a messy tangle.

”I mean, you left your group, didn’t you? That’s what I gathered from what Karol said.”

”No, I didn’t leave them. It was just necessary for us to part ways. Given how things played out, it will look like I’m the only traitor; they won’t be touched.”

’Or at least that’s what I want to think, but... even if we meet in the dungeon in ten days, will they really want to be with me again? I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t show up, or even if they came with the intention of capturing me...’

Because of the speed at which the wyvern flew, they had moved quite a distance away from the city.

And Ryan thought that even if they intended to follow them, Karol would somehow cover for them by giving out some false trail.

Beatrice said nothing more about it.

But the cold wind began to bite at Ryan’s face. And he felt his hands becoming damp.

Thunder began to rumble.

And then the rain came down upon them.

”What a terrible time for it to start raining!” Beatrice shouted.

”Yeah! Maybe we should look for a place to take shelter.”

Ryan made the wyvern descend.

The clouds no longer covered them.

To his sight, he saw only thick forest, mountains, and plenty of mist.

The water fell with force. And lightning reflected all around them.

”Over there!” Beatrice shouted, pointing toward a mountain. ”I see a cave; maybe it can serve us.”

”Okay! Let’s hurry.”

He shook the wyvern’s reins, and it changed direction rapidly toward the mountain.

Upon landing, the wyvern began to shake the water off its body, but everyone was already completely soaked.

They entered the cave; it was larger than it seemed.

Near the entrance, Ryan tied up the wyvern.

A narrow path connected to another part of the cave.

When they went through that path, there was a space wider than the one at the entrance.

”Well, I think this is better than what we could have asked for at a time like this...”

”Fire Wall.”

He activated his skill in the middle of the cave’s space. Once it was illuminated.

He began to walk around the entire area of the cave, checking to see if there were any openings in the walls where someone could be hiding.

”I don’t think there’s anyone around here, you know?” she said, approaching him, and then added.

”The mountain is very high and far from the cities, so you should relax a little.”

”Yeah, you might be right, but I wouldn’t like a sudden ambush either.”

He finished inspecting the place, the walls, and every corner.

After the fire wall dissipated.

He activated it again and took off his wet trench coat. He sat down on the ground on a stone that served as a chair. Beatrice did the same; both were near the fire, receiving its heat.

”You’re the last person I expected to see when I was about to die,” she said, her gaze fixed intensely on Ryan.

Then, with a subtle smile, she added.

”And to be honest with you, that made me very happy, even if I had died right then and there.”

She did not look away. And then she asked.

”Do you really not discriminate against demons? To all humans, we are abominable creatures.”

”That’s not entirely true. My situation with you was different, but that was only because we managed to communicate. I mean... normally I would have killed you, you know?”

He looked at her seriously.

”But, having interacted with you so much during that time, and because of other things, I realized that we aren’t so different. Both races, demons or humans, have families, people to protect. and also enemies to kill.”

Beatrice observed calmly, paying close attention to Ryan’s words.

”If I think of it that way, if someone stands in the way of what I want to protect, whether it’s a human, a demon, or the Church, at that moment they will be my enemy, and I will fight, and I will kill if necessary...”

She blushed when he said that. And she moved closer to him.

”How can you say those kinds of things to a girl all alone in the darkness of the night? Are you trying to seduce me?”

She drew closer to him and began to remove the upper part of her wet clothing.

”By doing that, it looks like you’re the one trying to seduce me.”

Beatrice smiled and left Ryan’s chest bare, placing his shirt next to the fire.

”That’s not what I intend, but you can’t stay in those wet clothes.”

Ryan looked at her.

”But that same thing applies to you, doesn’t it?”

”Yes...” She removed the upper part of her garment.

Her breasts were covered with a bandage.

Ryan took the bandage and pulled it aside.

Her breasts became visible before him.

”Hey! Don’t just stand there staring. I’ve never let anyone see me naked before.”
