Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

”What are they doing?” Li Tie asked from the back.

A commotion erupted from the other side.

Li Hang’s eyes narrowed as he said, ”It seems like they are distributing some food, I heard just now that they are planning to go somewhere to snatch food.”

Li Tie said, ”I guess their target is our base.”

He then looked at the people distributing food, his eyes flickering, and took a few steps back to the position of the back door.

Taking advantage of their food distribution, he checked if it was possible to leave through the back door.

He patted Dapao, who was standing by the back window, and said, ”Dapao, how’s it looking back here?”

Dapao shook his head and said, ”I just checked, there are at least a dozen people squatting near this back door. There might be some people on the side too, but they are hiding in the bushes. It’s dark and hard to see clearly.”

Li Tie sighed; it still seemed very difficult to break through, so he thought about turning around to leave.

Watching him limp, Dapao asked with concern, ”Tiezi, how’s your foot?”

Li Tie turned around and forced a smile, ”It’s fine, I won’t die. Just keep an eye on this side and let us know if they come over.”

Dapao nodded and said, ”Don’t worry, I’ve got the back door.”

The sky gradually darkened, and soon, it was completely black.

Under the glare of the lights, it took only a few minutes to divvy up the food of Hua Chuanlong and his group.

The civilians eating the food, each holding a weapon, surrounded the small building.

Hua Chuanlong had the car driven over, he had already thought of a way to handle the situation, he planned to persuade once more, and if the other side still refused to give up resistance, he would let the car advance.

Attack forcefully!

...

Less than two hundred meters away from them.

At the uphill.

Several people were in the trees, watching the distant car lights.

It was He Chao and his group; they were nearby searching for things, about to return to the gas station.

But just as they were returning, they heard gunfire.

So, they drove over, not daring to get too close, just able to see from afar what had happened.

Under the tree, He Chao said to the people in the tree, ”Did you see anything? What happened with that loud gunfire earlier?”

The person in the tree looked for a long time, and finally saw the SUV driven by Li Hang. That vehicle, he seemed to have seen it at the Big Camphor Tree Base.

He immediately climbed down from the tree, agile like a monkey.

After coming down, he said in shock, ”Brother Chao, there are two groups of people over there, one of them looks to have a lot of people, at least hundreds, packed densely.

Another group, I didn’t see. But I guess they should be inside that house.

That larger group has surrounded that building.

Also, I just saw a car from the Big Camphor Tree Base! Not sure if it’s them.”

He Chao hadn’t been too surprised by the earlier report since those were just messages which could be exchanged with the Big Camphor Tree Base for food.

But after hearing the latter part, his eyes widened in shock.

People from the Big Camphor Tree Base were surrounded?!

Since the partnership with the Big Camphor Tree Base, not only had they exchanged food.

Moreover, they are currently extra staff for the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Within the base, they had established a point contribution system for joining them, and they all wanted to join.

Moreover, from a personal perspective, his daughter was also in the Big Camphor Tree Base; in He Chao’s heart, he had already regarded the Big Camphor Tree Base as his own home.

Now that the people of Big Camphor Tree Base were surrounded, he definitely needed to do something.

So, he quickly ran towards the car, then seemed to remember something and came back, saying, ”Monkey, you and a few others keep watch here, the rest come with me to the Big Camphor Tree Base.”

Monkey hearing this, nodded and asked, ”Should we do something?”

He Chao thought for a while and said, ”No need, just keep watching here, they all have firearms, and we don’t, going there would just be sending ourselves to death.”

After saying this, he immediately got in the car and drove towards the Big Camphor Tree Base.

They weren’t far from the Big Camphor Tree Base, only about five or six kilometers. They would arrive soon.

...

After several mountains, the national highway undulated through the forests like a long dragon.

And there were some houses near the highway.

At the Big Camphor Tree Base, Li Yu saw it was dark, called over Third Uncle, Li Gang and others, preparing to go out to find Li Hang.

Initially, they didn’t intend to let Yang Tianlong go, but he stated that he had been rested for the past two months and his body was no longer in a bad condition.

Ever since last time, when he was injured in the snow, Yang Tianlong had been recuperating.

He hadn’t been allowed to go out for anything, and he was nearly bored to death at home.

Li Yu looked at Yang Tianlong, saw that he truly was capable, and did not stop him.

The group was just about to open the gate when Li Haoran on the wall saw a car light shining coming not far away.

So Li Haoran quickly said, ”There’s a light, maybe brother Hang has come back. Big brother, come up here and see.”

Li Yu, hearing this, was relieved that they had come back.

But when he got up on the wall, he saw that the car was not the one Li Hang and others had driven today.

This car, it looked somewhat familiar.

The car was speeding, seemingly in urgent business.

The car window rolled down, revealing a face - it was He Chao.

Li Yu, seeing He Chao’s face in the middle of the night with them rushing over in such haste, and considering that Li Hang and the others had not returned yet, made a connection.

A sense of dread flickered in his heart.

And sure enough.

After rolling down the window, He Chao shouted to Li Yu on the wall:

”Trouble! Five kilometers away, I saw cars from the base, I don’t know who they are, they are in a house next to a national highway, surrounded by hundreds of people. I heard the sound of gunfire and battle!”

He Chao spoke concisely, quickly clarifying most of the information he knew.

Upon hearing He Chao’s words, Li Yu’s heart trembled as he stood on the perimeter wall.

But he gripped the railing tightly, regaining his composure in just a few seconds without a trace of expression.

”Haoran, open the gate, and also call Second Uncle and the others. Bring the full set of gear, um, and bring two rocket cannons.” Li Yu said calmly.

Click, click, click~

The gate was opened, and He Chao’s car drove in directly.

Thud, thud, thud~

Li Yu came down the steps.

Third Uncle was even more composed, turning around and leaving. He walked into the duty room, donned a bullet-proof vest, tucked two handguns at his waist, looked around, and selected an automatic rifle.

The recently arrived He Chao didn’t even wait for the vehicle to stop before he got out of the car and said, ”Director Li, I was near Maple Forest just now, heard gunshots, and went to have a look, then I saw a lot of people, many cars...”

Li Yu nodded and said, ”When? Did they notice you?”

”Just now. They didn’t notice us. Also, among those hundreds of people, it seems like quite a few of them have guns. We were afraid of being exposed, so we didn’t get closer.” He Chao explained.

Li Yu responded, ”Hmm, you did well.”

He then looked towards Second Uncle and the others who had come over, saying: ”Xiao Hang and the others are probably surrounded by Safe City’s people, we need to go rescue them.

Anyone who hears their name, get ready with your gear and head out.

Meng Yu, Third Uncle, Yang Tianlong, Li Gang, Li Zhengping, Yutong, Zhou Weizhi, Xie Weishan, Song Min, Song Qi, Xiao Han, Wang Cheng, Old Lü, Old Xie...”

Li Yu quickly listed nearly thirty people’s names.

Then, Li Yu added, ”Those whose names I’ve called, get your gear ready now, immediately, and set out in two minutes.

The rest of you, on duty within the base, all get on the perimeter wall, ready at level one. Uncle, Second Uncle, you’re in charge of the base.”

Level One?

Even during the Zombie Tide, it was only level two or three. Now this is.....

Everyone’s hearts lurched.

A wave of turmoil and murmurs erupted.

Especially father Li Hongyuan and mother Liu Fanghua; they weren’t by the wall, but had just heard what Li Yu said, that Xiao Hang and others were surrounded by Safe City’s people, their lives in danger.

Anxiety, concern.

Lai Dongsheng’s wife nearly fainted, the pillar of her family was out there, safety uncertain.

Ding Qingqing, thinking of her father Ding Jiu and Li Hang being outside, felt like crying out of anxiety.

Third Aunt gritted her teeth and forced herself to remain calm, as her son was also outside.

Third Aunt approached Li Hongyuan and Liu Fanghua, comforting them.

....

Most people in the base were anxious, worried.

Hearing the murmurs, Li Yu’s heart was also in turmoil as that included his brother, his cousins, his brothers.

But he soon settled down.

He barked at the crowd: ”What are you noise-making for? Listen to what I say and act fast.”

He then walked to a car and checked the magazines.

Swiftly, magazines were filled, showing no sign of haste.

Yet, if one could see his eyes, they would see the tyranny and fury within them.

As if there was an invisible solemn yet authoritative aura, it kept the crowd from panicking further.

Busy but orderly, everyone quickly prepared.

Meanwhile, Third Uncle slowly approached Li Yu and said: ”I’ll go first, driving the new energy electric car over there to scout without raising any alarm.”

Li Yu glanced at Third Uncle, and seeing his unflappable eyes, sighed slightly and said, ”Okay, Uncle, you go first.”

Without any fuss, Third Uncle flipped himself into an electric car.

Whoosh~

The vehicle immediately shot out.

...

Less than two minutes later, everyone drove their vehicles over, and some were still not fully equipped.

But there was no time to wait; they all got into the cars.

Wearing their gear directly on the car.

Seven or eight cars sped extremely fast along the national highway.

After they left.

Bang!

The gate closed.

And next to Li Yu’s car was He Chao and others who came together.

Their destination, Maple Forest!

After they left, Second Uncle and Uncle exchanged a glance, filled with solemnity.

This was the biggest crisis they had encountered.

They dared not be distracted, arranging personnel, even moving the heavy machine guns from the duty room to put them at the gate.

Click, click, click.

Uncle loaded each bullet, his eyes filled with determination.

...

...

More to come~
