I Became the Strongest Villain in One Piece

Chapter 71: SVOP: Chapter 71

”Nine-Lord, I got the Devil Fruit!” Unico excitedly said as soon as he saw Vladimir.

”You got it? So fast?” Vladimir was stunned, immediately seeing the Devil Fruit that the other party was holding.

Unico handed the fruit to Vladimir, then said with a bitter face, ”I did manage to snatch the fruit, but I ran into trouble with the Whitebeard Pirates.”

”Huh? Who?”

”The Phoenix Marco!”

...

”The Phoenix Marco!”

Hearing Unico’s words, Vladimir was immediately stunned, ”How did you run into him? Don’t tell me that the Devil Fruit was snatched from Marco. With your strength, you can’t steal anything from him.”

Hearing this, Unico took a breath and said, ”Of course not. Marco is one of the members of the Whitebeard Pirates. If I had known, I wouldn’t have acted rashly.”

”Then what?”

”I spent nearly two days catching up with that group of pirates. After sneaking onto their ship, I looked for an opportunity to make a move. I waited until night, and finally, I found the opportunity.”

Vladimir believed these words more or less. After all, although Unico’s hiding ability couldn’t compare to Shadow Fiend’s, it was already considered very strong among pirates.

He only heard the other party continue, ”I made my move at night and successfully stole it. However, I was discovered by the other party when I was retreating, and then there was a fierce battle. I finally escaped. But...”

Vladimir knew that the important part was coming.

Unico said with a bitter smile, ”But I didn’t expect that this Devil Fruit was what this group was preparing to offer to the Whitebeard Pirates. For this matter, Marco came to meet them in person. According to what the captain said, the meeting time was near, so I guess Marco will catch up soon!”

After listening to the other party’s story, Vladimir nodded and asked, ”Did anyone follow you on the way here?”

”No, my speed is much faster than ships.” Unico said confidently.

Vladimir rolled his eyes, ”I’m talking about in the sky.”

”In the sky?”

Unico’s body shook, and then his eyes widened, his expression changing slightly, ”In the sky! Now that you mention it, I did feel some kind of gaze. I’m an assassin, so I’m very sensitive to gazes, but I was busy retreating at the time and didn’t pay too much attention...”

”You were indeed followed. Why is Marco called ’The Phoenix’? It’s because this person is a Zoan-type Mythical Beast, the extremely rare flying-type ability user, the Phoenix Fruit.”

Vladimir shook his head, feeling speechless. In his opinion, no matter how fast the water spider’s crawling speed was, it couldn’t be faster than flying. Clearly, Marco had already caught up and was just watching from above, following all the time.

If he guessed correctly, the other party was already in Dressrosa.

Hearing his words, Unico’s heart immediately tightened, ”What should I do, Nine-Lord!?”

”What are you panicking about? He’s just a member of the Whitebeard Pirates, not the Four Emperor himself.”

Vladimir said calmly, looking down at the fruit in his hand.

What kind of ability did this fruit have that made the Whitebeard Pirates so interested?

While thinking, a sharp cry suddenly came from outside.

The sound was loud and piercing, like the cry of a bird.

In an instant, the entire palace was alarmed.

The Riku Royal Army patrolling all parts of the palace were on alert, and the members of the royal family, including the king, came out of their rooms and looked up to see a shocking scene.

A large bird burning with azure blue flames was circling in the night sky, constantly emitting cries.

”What is that!?” Someone exclaimed.

”A phoenix...!”

”A fire bird!”

Just as there was chaos on the ground, the blue fire bird circling in the sky suddenly spoke human words, a deep, young male voice coming from it.

”Stop hiding. I’ve been following you for so long, just to see what power is behind you that dares to make a move against our Whitebeard Pirates!”

These words immediately shocked countless people.

”The Four Emperor Whitebeard Pirates!”

”He’s the legendary Phoenix Marco!”

”Why would this kind of person appear here!?”

Inside the room, Vladimir also heard Marco’s voice.

”I was thinking of absorbing it and trying out the fifth transformation. It seems I have to solve the trouble first.”

Thinking this in his heart, Vladimir temporarily put the Devil Fruit away.

”Nine-Lord, he’s here!” Unico was a little frightened. After all, Whitebeard’s reputation was too great, and Marco was one of the strongest members under Whitebeard.

”I heard.”

Glancing at him, Vladimir pushed open the door and walked out. With one step, the youkai fox cloak immediately appeared around his body.

In the darkness of the night, one in the sky and one on the ground, a phoenix and a nine-tailed fox simultaneously locked onto each other.

”The person behind it is you?” Marco said.

”It’s a bit troublesome. Even I don’t want to offend two Four Emperors in one go.”

Vladimir chuckled, ”Marco, if you can retreat today, I’ll pretend nothing happened, and we’ll all be at peace.”

”Are you joking?” Marco laughed, ”You sent people to intercept our things. If I hadn’t been nearby, you might have succeeded.”

”That’s really a shame. Actually, I already succeeded.” Vladimir shrugged, ”Anyway, I’ve already gotten the thing, and I won’t return it to you. Why don’t you be generous and just give it to me?”

”Stop dreaming!”

Marco actually felt a sense of speechlessness. He had seen shameless people, but he had never seen someone so shameless.

”Since you won’t return it, then I’ll have to take action. State your name!”

”You only know how to fight, too reckless.” Vladimir shook his head, saying, ”I’m Nine-Tailed Fox. Although I don’t want to offend two at once, I’m not afraid. Since you want to fight, then I’ll just have to suppress you.”

”Nine-Tailed Fox? I see, Shichibukai!”
