My Superpower Leads Me to Murderers

Chapter 141: Chapter 141: I Want to Kill Her

Mrs. Dawson gritted her teeth and finally forced the words out.

If it really came to it, having Old Dawson do it wasn’t out of the question. They were father and son, so no one would suspect anything was wrong when the baby was born.

As for Shea’s opinion?

To the old Dawson couple, it wasn’t important.

In their eyes, an orphan who depended on them for her livelihood had no right to speak.

”Is that really okay?” A look of pleasant surprise crossed Mr. Dawson’s face, but he remembered to control his emotions.

Mrs. Dawson rolled her eyes. ”Stop pretending. I know you’ve been thinking about this for a long time. We’ll tell our son later and have him play along.

If that little bitch refuses, just give her sleeping pills.”

The process didn’t matter. What mattered was that they had to have a grandson.

Otherwise, all the neighbors would laugh them to death!

The people in the room made their decision in just a few sentences. Standing at the door, Shea clenched her fists so tightly that her nails nearly drew blood from her palms.

They made the decision on their own, without any consideration for her feelings, without even asking if she was willing.

At that moment, Shea still held onto a sliver of hope, believing that Dave would refuse and fight for her when he found out.

But two days later, after she noticed Dave intentionally or unintentionally avoiding her gaze and frequently leaving her alone with Mr. Dawson, her heart died completely.

Perhaps sensing that Shea was unwilling to cooperate, the three members of the Dawson family even planned to drug her with sleeping pills, force themselves on her, and make the situation irreversible.

By then, no matter how unwilling Shea was, she would have to hold her nose and accept it.

Before Shea could figure out a way to deal with the situation, an accident happened.

On their way home, the old Dawson couple collided with a car driving the wrong way, operated by a drunk driver.

Three people in two cars died at the scene.

Shea used the excuse of being too grief-stricken to handle the funeral arrangements. In reality, after the old couple’s ashes were returned, she secretly swapped them out and flushed them down the toilet.

With no one bossing her around anymore, she had the old Dawson couple’s savings and the compensation money in her hands.

Dave simply quit his job, moved his lover in, and started treating Shea like a maid, living a carefree life.

Although they still walked separately when they went out to save face, everyone in the neighborhood knew what was going on.

Shea lay low, biding her time and looking for a chance to teach them a lesson.

At the same time, she had no money of her own and needed to get back the things her parents had left her.

Dave wanted to continue his parents’ original plan, intending to have his lover force himself on Shea to produce a child who would care for them in their old age.

So Shea went along with it, seemingly half-reluctantly, and set a trap for the two of them. She let them think they had succeeded, then found a male college student to get her pregnant.

Seeing that Shea was ”successful,” Dave and his lover put the matter out of their minds, planning to wait for Shea to give birth, then keep her as a maid to continue serving their new family of three.

The truth about her parents’ death and the actions of the Dawson family left Shea in a state of extreme mental tension.

The long-term, high-pressure stress caused her to develop psychological problems. When she saw Dave and his lover again, the desire to kill them both arose in her.

Next, she used medicine she bought from a hospital to induce the two of them to crush it up and snort it.

She got them addicted, causing them to have frequent hallucinations.

Once everything was ready, she took a knife to one of them and chopped off his Number Two.

Captain Lee and the others already knew what happened after that.

”Hiss... that’s horrible. But the end is pretty satisfying,” Zoe Sawyer whispered to Heath Hale.

Heath Hale sighed helplessly and pushed Zoe’s head down. ”Alright, you’re a police officer now. Your stance has to be on the side of justice.

Even if you agree with what Shea did, you can’t say it out loud.”

It was a good thing no one else was around. Otherwise, if word got out, it would turn into another story about them thinking the suspect was right.

That would just stir up another media firestorm.

Barry Quinn and Monkey nodded in agreement. That was exactly right.

Even if they were mentally on Shea’s side and knew Dave’s actions were inhuman, from a legal standpoint, what Shea did was wrong.

Thinking of Shea’s situation, Zoe’s tone was hesitant. ”Is that really possible?”

’She’s pregnant and has mental health issues. The cause was the Dawson family. Even if she’s convicted, they have to consider the facts, right?’

Heath Hale shook his head. ”It’s hard to say. Nothing’s certain until the verdict is in.”

Because the events of the case were clear and Shea confessed to everything, the case was closed quickly.

Evan Keller and Sean Hughes hadn’t even cracked the Anne Dawson case yet, but the case involving Dave and Shea was already wrapped up.

Zoe, who had been shooed away by Heath to write her report after hearing the story, rushed back and tugged on his sleeve as soon as the results were out. ”What happened next? What happened next?”

Heath glanced at Zoe but didn’t answer directly. Instead, he asked, ”How’s your report coming along? If you want to hear the rest, show me your report first.”

”Here!”

Zoe slapped her report down in front of Heath, then looked at him with an expectant expression.

Heath flipped through it briefly. After confirming that Zoe hadn’t just phoned it in, he nodded in satisfaction and briefly told her the outcome.

When Dave saw Shea in court, he angrily shouted that she should be locked up.

But after reviewing the entire case, the judge ruled that Shea had committed the subsequent acts because she was pregnant and suffering from psychological problems due to severe trauma.

However, because she had indeed caused irreversible physical harm to Dave’s lover, she was sentenced to three years in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered to pay Dave’s lover 100,000 in compensation.

Immediately after this verdict, the judge continued, stating that the old Dawson couple had maliciously caused the car crash that killed Shea’s parents and had also embezzled the Sherman family’s assets.

The money left by Mr. and Mrs. Sherman was to be returned to Shea, with the sold car and house to be compensated at market value. Furthermore, the old Dawson couple’s savings and insurance payout were all to be given to Shea as compensation for the car crash. The marriage between Dave and Shea was annulled.

If the money wasn’t enough, then the current house was to be sold.

Thus, after five years of scheming, the Dawson family not only ended up with nothing, but they also had a death on their hands and lost everything they owned.

When Dave’s lover woke up in the hospital and learned he had gone from a ”1” to a ”0,” he fainted again.

After waking up, he kept rambling about how lucky it was that Shea was still carrying his child, so he could still carry on his family line.

But his happiness didn’t last long, as he soon learned from Shea’s own mouth that the child in her belly was actually someone else’s.

Not only were all his schemes in shambles, but he himself was now a ruined man.

Dave’s lover almost couldn’t catch his breath, clutching his chest and gasping for air.

”I’ll kill her!”
