Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

Chloe Reed was furious.

She bit down hard on his lips, and the metallic tang of blood immediately spread between them.

It was an unpleasant taste.

Walker Grant ended the kiss.

His heavy breaths fell on her lips, his nose pressed against hers.

Chloe Reed’s chest heaved, her eyes red-rimmed as she stared at him. ”You’re not happy? Why aren’t you happy?”

The coldness in her eyes was glaring, tinged with mockery.

Walker Grant’s sexy Adam’s apple bobbed as he said in a low voice, ”You’ve been seeing Preston Vance. You don’t listen to me.”

”Ha...” Chloe Reed laughed, exasperated. Her eyes grew even redder. ”Walker Grant, you don’t care about my feelings, so why should I care about yours?”

Her breathing was ragged, fury burning in her chest. Her hands were pinned by his, putting her at a disadvantage, completely at his mercy.

They were husband and wife, but their relationship had never been one of equals.

”You’re good to Sunny Reed, you’re good to Noah Grant. When you were siding with that mother and son to bully me, did you ever once think about my feelings? I protested so strongly before. I told you I didn’t like you seeing them. And you? What did you do?”

Chloe Reed struggled with all her might, not giving up even as pain flared in her wrists.

”Walker Grant, you’ve never cared about my feelings! What am I to you?!”

She roared the last sentence.

Her voice trembled, her eyes growing redder still.

But this time, she managed to hold back her tears.

’Perhaps she wasn’t so sad anymore, because she wasn’t so in love anymore.’

Before, whenever she heard news of Walker Grant and Sunny Reed getting tangled up together, she would feel so heartbroken she thought she might die.

But now, all she felt was a faint pang of bitterness.

’She had thought falling out of love would be hard.’

’She never imagined it would be this easy.’

There was no warmth in her eyes, only a cold, mocking gaze fixed on him.

The frustration in Walker Grant’s chest intensified. He released her hands, only to press her against the cold wall.

Her body trembled under his palms.

He said in a low voice, ”She’s my sister-in-law. I’ve never had any other intentions. But Preston Vance is different. He’s got designs on you.”

Chloe Reed’s back was flat against the wall. It was cold, just like her heart at that moment.

She took a deep breath and said, ”Move. I want to get out.”

But Walker Grant moved even closer, his nose brushing against her cheek as he said, ”Chloe, let’s have a baby.”

’Maybe if they had a child, she wouldn’t resist him so fiercely.’

’A child would be the bond that ties them together.’

’She had always wanted a child before, too.’

’He was the one who had been wrong.’

’He shouldn’t have put Noah Grant first. The entire Grant family doted on Noah; he didn’t need him to as well.’

Chloe Reed’s eyes widened in shock and terror. ”I don’t want to!”

Her first reaction was refusal!

’Has this man gone crazy?!’

’Their relationship has deteriorated to this point, and he still wants to have a baby with her?!’

’How absurd!’

Walker Grant kissed her, trying to arouse her. ”We’ve been married for four years, and we’re not getting any younger. We should have a child. A child who looks like you and me, okay?”

”No! Not okay!”

Chloe Reed pushed him, resisting fiercely, desperate to escape.

’He’s really lost it!’

’There was no way she was having a baby with him!’

’She had already filed for divorce. As long as she won the case, she would get the divorce certificate, and they would have nothing to do with each other anymore!’

’This was absolutely not the time to have a child!’
