The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1115: Chapter 1115: Trouble at Black Gold

After the proposal ended, Meng Nan drank several times more in his happiness, and soon passed out drunk.

Lin Tian had his arm around Wu Yong’s shoulder and took the concert tickets out of Liou Qingcheng’s bag to distribute to everyone. He also asked Sisi to bring two tickets to the other two roommates in the dormitory.

Wu Yong held the concert ticket and said with a wry smile, ”Brother Tian, the security at the arena is ours, I don’t need this ticket, you can give it to someone else.”

”Ours?” Lin Tian also gave a wry smile. Luckily, there was no conflict with the security there a few days ago, or it really would have been a case of one family not recognizing another.

”The company should be doing pretty well now, right?” Lin Tian asked with a light smile.

Wu Yong burped from the alcohol, glanced at Lin Tian and said with a bitter smile, ”Brother Tian, you’ve been quite the hands-off manager, haven’t you? Quite a few big things happened at the company recently, and you probably don’t know any of them, do you?”

Hmm?

Lin Tian widened his eyes slightly, he really didn’t know about this.

”Well, Shishi knows your nature and definitely wouldn’t want to talk about these things in front of you.”

”What’s been going on?” Lin Tian asked, a little tense.

”About a month and a half ago, there were people causing trouble at our stores, bars, and nightclubs. It started with just two murder cases, and the killers were never found. I didn’t pay much attention at the time, but then it escalated, and several of our stores were smashed. Soon after, someone reported that our stores had contraband, and the police came without warning and found quite a bit, causing a lot of our stores to be shut down.”

Lin Tian’s brow furrowed deeper and deeper. No one would be happy hearing about such things.

”Actually, these events were unexpected. I know some people in the white world, and with Shishi and the Xu Family’s connections, we shouldn’t be this passive.”

Halfway through, Wu Yong said with a serious face, Lin Tian softly asked, ”Is this the work of the Wang Family?”

Lin Tian thought about it, and it seemed only the Wang Family could have done this. The practitioners from Sakula Country couldn’t have shut down so many businesses so quietly. Besides the Wang Family, who else would hold an interest big enough to do such a thing?

But those businesses, although profitable, were not enough to hurt Lin Tian seriously; doing this wouldn’t make much sense.

Surprisingly, Wu Yong shook his head, ”It doesn’t seem like it’s the Wang Family. We’ve traced the source and found that many powerful figures were involved, and they used a lot of force, or we wouldn’t be this passive.”

”Powerful figures?” Lin Tian chewed on those words carefully, and a flash of understanding struck him. The Wang Family had already found a new backer, and these small maneuvers were easy for them.

But something was still wrong; the Wang Family was in such dire straits that little mischief wouldn’t satisfy their appetite. If they were going to strike, it should be with thunderous means.

”Besides this, is there anything else?” Lin Tian asked.

”Yes!” At this point, Li Tian’s genius took a deep breath, suppressing his tone, ”We’ve lost more than a dozen people, and they were all experts.”

A dozen? All experts?

In this context, experts referred only to the highly paid retired soldiers hired by Black Gold, whose strength after training and testing was comparable to He Tianming. Such people were often hired by wealthy individuals or officials as bodyguards.

”And what about the clients?” Lin Tian frowned. He already had a particularly bad premonition; being a bodyguard for Black Gold was an important business. If something happened to the clients, Black Gold’s reputation would fall, and once the reputation drops, business cools; it’s an eternal truth.

”They’re dead too.” Wu Yong squinted and said in a cold voice, as if entering an ice cellar.

Hearing this tone, Lin Tian realized Wu Yong was different now, with a hint of killing intent, no longer the innocent high school student. Lin Tian was sure there was blood on his hands mixing with fallen souls.

”Two entrepreneurs, a couple of drug lord offspring, a government official’s son...Oh right, there was also a wealthy woman who rented our company’s bodyguards not for safety but just to sleep with men, and when they were killed, they were completely naked.”

Li Tian Ci pushed the wine glass away from him and counted on his fingers. People from both black and white circles weren’t surprising.

Wu Yong smiled bitterly, ”The task force has been established for almost a month, but they haven’t figured out who did it. I’m not interested in the results, just that we’re too passive now. The company’s reputation is declining, and many have terminated their contracts with us.”

”How did those people die?” Lin Tian asked.

”Two ways: either their throats were slit or their hearts were stabbed through. Judging by the fatal wounds, the force used was heavy, yet not a trace was left behind, like dealing with a group of ghosts.”

”Typical.” Lin Tian lightly said, ”The hands that did it aren’t ordinary people.”

Immediately, Wu Yong focused his gaze on Lin Tian’s face and asked in surprise, ”Brother Tian, do you know who it was?”

”Of course I do. A month and a half ago, I almost died at their hands. In the end, they were the ones who suffered.”

”What?!” Wu Yong softly punched the table, puzzled why he didn’t provoke anyone, thinking this was completely unjust. Only now did he understand; these people were all brought by this boss.

”Brother Tian, who are they? You tell me, and I’ll bring people to wipe them out! Anyway, we still have a big batch of weapons.” Probably because of the alcohol and the pent-up emotions, Wu Yong was itching to pull out a gun.

”Foolish!” Lin Tian snorted coldly, ”Those weapons cannot be used! This is Kanyue City! They might not value their lives, but do you not value yours?”

With Lin Tian’s shout, Wu Yong shivered. Yes, this was Kanyue City. Since Du Dahai’s downfall, the city has been on edge, and with so many deaths recently, even touching those weapons could be catastrophic.

”Second, Brother Yong just drank too much, he didn’t mean anything.” Li Tiancai patted Lin Tian’s shoulder and asked, ”Those people, should be the ones who were at the Wang Family manor last time, right?”

Lin Tian was taken aback, ”How did you know?”

”An inference, I’ve suspected it for a long time, just lacked evidence.” Li Tiancai adjusted his glasses on his nose, looking like a weak scholar.

”Hmm.” Lin Tian nodded lightly, ”It’s them, but...”

Lin Tian didn’t finish his sentence; commoners opposing a powerful family generally don’t end well. They’re just too strong!
