Chapter 567: Chapter 567: Bloody Battle at Taiqing Academy

The higher-ups of the Taiqing Academy had all left. Hearing Lin Yun’s words, the killing intent radiating from Wei Yunhang grew ever more intense. At the same time, the Elemental Power of a Celestial Spirit Realm Great Success erupted from his body and shot toward the sky.

Wei Yunhang had broken through to the Celestial Spirit Realm Great Success. Lin Yun showed no surprise. ’While I’ve been improving, Wei Yunhang and the others must have been as well.’

”Lin Yun, you forced my hand! Disciples of the Taiqing Academy, listen to my command! Kill Qin Feng with all your might! Anyone who stands in the way will be killed without mercy!” he roared at the Taiqing Academy disciples. Hearing Wei Yunhang’s command, the Taiqing Academy disciples instantly charged toward Lin Yun and the others.

Seeing this, Little Ape instantly transformed, growing to a sturdy ten meters tall. Lin Yun also shouted to He Yuntian and Bai Zhicheng, ”Quick!”

Facing the encirclement and assault of the entire Taiqing Academy, Lin Yun had never intended to fight to the death. The plan now was for him to hold back the Taiqing Academy disciples while He Yuntian and the others found the Firebirds as quickly as possible. Only by riding the Firebirds did they have a chance to escape.

Before coming to the Taiqing Academy, Lin Yun had never imagined that Wei Yunhang would actually want to kill Qin Feng. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so unprepared.

Lu Bingning and the other two women blocked the charging Taiqing Academy disciples. As for He Yuntian and Bai Zhicheng, they took the two injured Flawless Palace disciples and quickly broke through the encirclement.

”Qin Feng...” Seeing Qin Feng still standing there in a daze, Lin Yun bellowed. At the sound of Lin Yun’s roar, Qin Feng suddenly snapped back to his senses and looked at Lin Yun.

”Brother Lin...”

”Don’t say another word. Fight your way out with me,” Lin Yun said, cutting Qin Feng off.

As he spoke, the Elemental Power fluctuation of a Celestial Spirit Realm Minor Achievement erupted from Lin Yun’s body. Seeing this, Wei Yunhang knew that the Taiqing Academy disciples couldn’t stop Lin Yun; only he could. He immediately attacked Lin Yun.

”Lin Yun, if you stand down today, I, Wei Yunhang, will owe you a favor,” Wei Yunhang said as he thrust his sword at Lin Yun.

Hearing this, Lin Yun, wielding the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear, replied without the slightest hesitation, ”Wei Yunhang, Qin Feng has already left the Taiqing Academy. Why must you drive him into a land of death?”

”When you cut the weeds, you must dig up the roots. Surely you understand this principle. I will kill Qin Feng today. Lin Yun, don’t force me,” Wei Yunhang replied.

”Enough talk. Let’s fight.” With a thrust of his spear that forced Wei Yunhang back several steps, Lin Yun directly unleashed Thunderfire Bombardment.

His entire body transformed into flame and lightning. Any Taiqing Academy disciple near Lin Yun, with the exception of the Core Disciples, was instantly engulfed in flames. Meanwhile, Lin Yun charged ferociously toward Wei Yunhang.

He killed no fewer than ten Taiqing Academy disciples in a single move. At this point, Wei Yunhang also knew that he and Lin Yun were likely to go from friends to enemies. He no longer had any intention of holding back.

”Taiqing Nine Swords, Second Sword—Heaven and Earth Annihilation!” Facing Lin Yun’s Thunderfire Bombardment, Wei Yunhang slashed out swiftly with his sword. The silent Sword Qi collided fiercely with Lin Yun’s attack.

In their head-on exchange, Lin Yun was at a slight disadvantage. After all, he hadn’t activated his War God Transformation, and Wei Yunhang had broken through to the Celestial Spirit Realm Great Success.

”Lin Yun, is one Qin Feng really that important? Do you want to watch all the disciples of the Flawless Palace die here because of him?” Wei Yunhang shouted at Lin Yun after their clash.

To be honest, even now, Wei Yunhang didn’t want to have a complete falling out with Lin Yun. Qin Feng had to die, but Wei Yunhang never anticipated that Qin Feng would be an old acquaintance of Lin Yun’s. If he had known, he would never have invited Lin Yun to the Taiqing Academy to participate in the grand competition.

In truth, the outcome of this battle was decided before it even began. Facing thousands upon thousands of Taiqing Academy disciples, how could the mere dozen or so disciples from the Flawless Palace possibly have a chance of winning?

But that’s just how people are. Some things must be done, even when you know you are outmatched. Just like Lin Yun—although he had already sensed Wei Yunhang’s murderous resolve, he could never bring himself to stand by and watch Qin Feng die right in front of him.

Ever since arriving in the Eastern Heart Domain, every step Lin Yun had taken was meticulously planned. But the affairs of the world can never be completely contained within one’s plans and predictions.

Just like this trip to the Taiqing Academy. Who could have imagined that because of Qin Feng, Lin Yun and Wei Yunhang would become true enemies?

Ignoring Wei Yunhang’s words, Lin Yun fought as he retreated, regrouping with the Flawless Palace disciples and Qin Feng. They stood back-to-back in a small circle, facing the endless stream of Taiqing Academy disciples charging at them.

Lin Yun glanced at Lu Bingning and the other two women. Wei Yunhang’s words had indeed made him feel a pang of guilt. He couldn’t let the Flawless Palace disciples be endangered because of him.

”Protect them,” he murmured to the three women, referring to the Flawless Palace disciples who had accompanied him.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, all three women nodded. Immediately after, Lin Yun gave the same order to Little Ape, telling him to protect the Flawless Palace disciples and not move even an Inch Step away from them.

Seeing that Lin Yun had no intention of compromising and had instead killed more than ten Taiqing Academy disciples in a row, Wei Yunhang completely gave up on persuasion. He charged at Lin Yun while roaring at the other Taiqing Academy disciples.

”Slaughter the Flawless Palace disciples! Leave no one alive! Kill them!”

With things having developed to this point, Lin Yun and Wei Yunhang had finally and completely fallen out. The Flawless Palace disciples now also became targets for the Taiqing Academy to slaughter.

Not daring to stray from the Flawless Palace disciples’ side, Lin Yun fought relentlessly against the charging Taiqing Academy disciples. However, there were simply too many of them. For every one he killed, another would immediately take his place.

Just as Lin Yun was fighting against the Taiqing Academy disciples, the bloodcurdling scream of a Flawless Palace disciple rang out from behind him.

He turned his head to see a Flawless Palace Inner Sect Disciple. The disciple had been run through by the longswords of several Taiqing Academy disciples and was violently coughing up a large mouthful of fresh blood.

As Lin Yun looked at him, he looked back at Lin Yun and said with great difficulty, ”Senior Brother Lin... you must... you must fight your way out.”

The first Flawless Palace disciple died in front of Lin Yun. Several Taiqing Academy disciples pulled out their longswords, and the man’s body fell limply to the ground, quickly submerged by the onrushing tide of disciples.

At that moment, Lin Yun glanced inadvertently at the other Flawless Palace disciples. They were all fending off the attacks of countless Taiqing Academy disciples, and nearly every one of them was injured.

Qin Feng also saw the plight of the Flawless Palace disciples. Having fought his way to Lin Yun’s side, he said, ”Brother Lin, don’t worry about me anymore. Hand me over. Wei Yunhang won’t make things difficult for you all.”

Hearing Qin Feng’s words, Lin Yun roared angrily, ”Bullshit! Protect the Flawless Palace disciples and trust me! We can definitely fight our way out of here! As soon as He Yuntian and the others find the Firebirds, we can escape!”
