Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 435: Chapter 431: Crimson Sun Giant Ape (2)

”Damn it, why hasn’t the Ape King come out yet?” Elder Liu grew anxious as he watched more and more monkeys swarm the area.

The cave entrance was right in front of him, but he didn’t dare to charge in. He could feel a terrifying aura inside intensifying, and Elder Liu was waiting for its source to emerge.

Only when it came out could he go in.

They were now deep in the heart of the swarm, and every minute they delayed, the danger grew.

From the start, this plan had been a near-suicide mission.

Elder Liu couldn’t care less whether the Wolf Fang Team lived or died. His only fear was that his own young master might be in danger.

His gaze shifted to a thicket of bushes untouched by the swarm. The Mixed-Blood, Young Master Qin, was hiding there alone, completely unnoticed.

Only the fourteen of them were surrounded.

Elder Liu’s plan was simple: once the Ape King charged out, he would have the Wolf Fang Team keep it busy while he dashed into the cave. He would find the Monkey Wine, a unique brew of the Monkey Race, and then escape with his young master.

The Wolf Fang Team would be left behind as a diversion.

”ROAR...” A heaven-shaking roar suddenly erupted.

A blurry phantom appeared at the cave entrance, its form solidifying into a five-meter-tall black ape. Its entire body was clad in black Scale Armor, a seemingly impenetrable defense. Red light pulsed from its massive head, revealing a ferocious and savage face. Its terrifying aura was so intense that no one dared to meet its gaze. It furiously snorted two plumes of smoke from its nostrils, its enormous eyes locked onto the humans surrounded by the swarm.

’The Ape King has finally appeared.’ Seeing the giant ape and its terrifying aura at the mouth of the cave, Elder Liu was certain. ’Its rank as a Demon Spirit is undeniable. This has to be the ruler of the swarm.’

”Wolf Fang Team, remember your mission! Buy me three minutes!”

The giant ape tilted its head back and roared, its eyes bloodshot. For humans to dare barge into Monkey Mountain like this... they clearly had a death wish.

”Pathetic humans, you will all die!”

With terrifying momentum, the giant ape took a great leap and landed among them in the next second with a deafening crash. Its appearance sent the monkey swarm’s morale soaring.

”Wolf Fang Team, you’re up!”

As the giant ape appeared, Elder Liu bellowed. The Wolf Fang Team’s captain gritted his teeth and shouted, ”Formation!”

SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH...

Thirteen figures flickered into motion, instantly surrounding the terrifyingly powerful ape amid a flash of blades. Elder Liu also noticed something that made him ecstatic: as soon as the ape appeared, the surrounding swarm stopped attacking and simply watched. ’If this keeps up,’ he thought, ’the pressure on the Wolf Fang Team will be much less, and they’ll have an easier time buying me what I need.’

Just then, Elder Liu seized his chance. With a sudden flash of movement, he sent the monkeys blocking the cave flying with a single palm strike and darted inside. The whole process took only a few seconds.

Hmm?

The five-meter ape paused for a moment, then its terrifying face twisted into a savage grin. It didn’t seem to care in the slightest.

”You humans came to steal our clan’s Monkey Wine, didn’t you?” The giant ape made no move to chase Elder Liu, letting him enter the cave freely.

The Wolf Fang Team was under immense pressure. The giant ape hadn’t even moved, yet its mere presence filled them with a suffocating dread.

”Brothers, hold out for three minutes! Charge!”

The thirteen of them attacked the five-meter-tall ape simultaneously, putting every ounce of their strength into the assault. They couldn’t afford to hold anything back—this was a Rank Three Demon Spirit!

”You’re asking to die!” The giant ape sneered and slammed its massive fist down at its own feet.

BOOM...!

The force of the blow was unimaginable. The resulting shockwave alone felt powerful enough to shatter mountains and make rivers flow backward.

ARGH... AHH... AGH...

The members of the Wolf Fang Team were all sent flying by the immense force that erupted from the ground, each one spitting up blood, their minds reeling in shock.

’How can it be this strong?’ The punch hadn’t even been aimed at them, yet the shockwave traveling through the ground had been enough to inflict serious injuries.

Three minutes?

Against such a powerful Rank Three Demon Spirit, even one minute felt like an eternity. The fear of death began to creep into their hearts.

Their only hope now was that Elder Liu would be quick—that he would get the Monkey Wine in less than three minutes, come out to help them, and then they could all retreat.

....

High above, two figures—one heavy-set, one slender—floated in the air. Tu Xiao’an and the Bull Demon King were watching the battle below with great amusement.

When Tu Xiao’an saw the five-meter-tall ape, his eyes lit up, and he immediately used his Conscious Insight on it.

”DING... Crimson Sun Giant Ape, High Rank Demon Spirit, Level 32. Host can obtain 10,000 Evolutionary Energy through Devouring.”

Crimson Sun Giant Ape?

Tu Xiao’an looked at the Bull Demon King in confusion. ”That’s not the Ape King you were talking about, is it?”

”You have a keen eye, Master. That’s not the Ape King, just his younger brother, the Crimson Sun Ape.” The Bull Demon King chuckled. ”Now I see what these humans are up to. The moment the Crimson Sun Ape appeared, that old man seized the opportunity to rush into the cave. He must be after the Monkey Race’s Monkey Wine.”

”That old man has probably never seen the real Ape King. Charging in like that... I’m afraid he’s going to die a miserable death.”

Tu Xiao’an commented, ”This Monkey Mountain is more formidable than I thought. To have two Rank Three Demon Spirits... no wonder they’re considered a major power second only to the Demon Kings.”

The Crimson Sun Giant Ape is Level 32, a match for the Bull Demon King, yet he’s not even the ruler of his clan.

The true Ape King still hadn’t appeared.

”Bull Demon King,” Tu Xiao’an said suddenly, looking at him with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, ”didn’t you say the Ape King was only a little bit stronger than you? How come his younger brother is already your equal?”

The Bull Demon King gave a sheepish laugh, looking rather guilty.

Tu Xiao’an couldn’t be bothered to bicker with the bull. He watched the Crimson Sun Ape below unleashing its power. The Wolf Fang Team was completely powerless to fight back. The gap between Rank Two and Rank 3 was already a chasm, and besides, this Crimson Sun Ape was no ordinary Rank Three Demon Spirit.

’Looks like someone’s missing.’ Tu Xiao’an had noticed there were only fourteen people down there from the start. ’Where’s that arrogant kid who wanted to buy our meat?’

The Bull Demon King replied, ”You must mean that pretty boy, Master. With his pathetic level of strength, he must be hiding somewhere.”

”Hiding, is he?”

’I didn’t see that Mixed-Blood youth on our way into Monkey Mountain, so he must have followed them in. If he’s hiding, he has to be nearby.’

With a cool expression, he scanned the area below and spotted something out of place in a thicket about a thousand meters away.

”Bull Demon King, we did cross paths with him earlier, after all. Don’t you think we should go down and say hello?” A flicker of amusement danced in Tu Xiao’an’s eyes.

The Bull Demon King understood instantly and laughed. ”Absolutely, we should!”

’Did that pretty boy really think he’d be safe just by hiding? How naive. We let him go before, but now... hehehe....’
