Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Lv Beiguang was really scared. To be honest, when Guodong’s mother was giving birth to Jing Chu, something went wrong. It was mostly because of her petty mind, but as long as someone close to him was having a baby, he would get anxious.

Jiang Xinyu sat on one side. To be honest, Li Xue had been inside for quite a long time. Because she was young, they were particularly attentive.

Both Doctor Xie and Doctor Liu checked her pulse and said that Li Xue’s body was fine. But this was too nerve-wracking.

Guodong was like a spinning top, turning around in the same spot. He was genuinely scared, particularly terrified. Recently, he hadn’t been able to sleep at night.

Although there were many people in the yard, it was completely silent.

Li Yungui sat to one side smoking. How could it take more time than it did for her sister-in-law to have two?

In the midst of everyone’s anxious waiting, a sharp scream came from inside, followed by the sound of a baby crying.

Guodong was so frightened that he collapsed to the ground. Jing Chu hurriedly ran over to help him up.

”Brother, it’s okay. Sister-in-law has given birth; it’s over, everything’s fine now.”

Guodong also heard the baby’s cry, wiped his face, and shakily stood up. He immediately ran over and pressed against the door, listening to the sounds inside.

The Li family was quite satisfied with Guodong’s behavior.

Guodong was extremely eager, but he couldn’t hear the sounds clearly inside.

About a quarter of an hour later, the door finally opened. Xie Chunfen came out smiling, holding the baby. ”Congratulations, Guodong, it’s a boy.”

”Doctor Xie, Doctor Xie, how’s my wife?” Guodong didn’t even look at the baby, let alone take him.

”She’s fine now. Rest assured, she’s awake now; you can go in and see her.”

Guodong rushed past Doctor Xie and went straight into the room.

As he saw Li Xue lying on the kang, her hair wet and looking particularly weak.

He squatted by the edge of the kang, grabbed Li Xue’s hand and rubbed it against his mouth, ”Thank you for your hard work, my wife.”

Li Xue looked at her husband with a weak smile on her face, ”It’s okay. It was just quite painful, but now it’s better.”

”Wife, we’re only having one, no more,” Guodong was truly scared out of his wits and didn’t want to go through it again.

Li Xue didn’t respond to him; at this moment, Jiang Xinyu came in with the baby, Qu Xiaoli, and Jing Chu.

”How are you?”

”It hurts.”

Qu Xiaoli wiped her sweat with a handkerchief. ”It’ll be fine soon, it’s always like this. But it was really worth it, you gave birth to a big baby boy weighing six pounds two ounces.”

”Auntie.”

Qu Xiaoli watched as her niece acted spoiled, feeling emotional. This girl has become a mother too.

Jiang Xinyu placed the baby beside Li Xue, ”Look at your son, he’ll definitely be a handsome lad in the future.”

Li Xue had already looked at him but still couldn’t get enough. This was the child she had given birth to; he looked truly beautiful.

”Xue’er, drink some water first; pigeon soup will be brought over to you later. Make sure to drink plenty.”

The room was stuffy, and she had already sweated so much during childbirth. Now she didn’t feel hot, but her body felt sticky and uncomfortable.

”Teacher Jiang, can I wash up?”

Jiang Xinyu and Qu Xiaoli both shook their heads. ”No, use a warm towel to wipe down later, but you definitely can’t wash. You are still young, but you can’t risk getting sick.” Li Xue pouted slightly in grievance, but she was obedient. If the elders said no, she definitely wouldn’t do it.

Now it was dawn. The men had all gone back. Lv Beiguang was happily circling in the yard.

He had become a grandfather. Even though he hadn’t slept all night, he didn’t feel tired now. He also gave Doctor Xie and the others a big red envelope, as well as a pound of brown sugar each.

Li Yungui went home and cooked porridge for the children, who would be going to school later.

After breakfast, he rode a bicycle to the countryside; he had to tell his elder brother the good news.

Li Yunqiao smiled uncontrollably when he knew that his daughter had safely given birth to a grandson.

”We can’t go back today; we’ll all go over to see them tomorrow.”

”Okay, when you go to the city tomorrow, bring chicken and eggs. Let Yun Qiang go a bit later, wait for you to return together.”

”Alright.”

After hanging up the phone, Li Yunqiao’s face continued to bear a smile. Now he could finally relax.

The news of Li Xue having a son was known to everyone when they started work in the morning.

Tao YanZhen only gave a wry smile, feeling complicated, but still thinking this was a joyful event.

Tao Chunhe was worried that his sister might feel uncomfortable and paid close attention to her. Seeing no difference from usual, he wondered if such calmness was a good or bad thing.

Today, Lv Beiguang wore a smile all day, and everyone who came to the distillery congratulated him.

”Mr. Lv, congratulations.” Yang Xiuqin sincerely congratulated him as well.

”Haha, thank you, Xiao Yang.”

Yang Xiuqin had never seen Lv Beiguang smile like this; she was truly amazed.

However, in her heart, it was bittersweet. She was only left to feel sad on her own. Such a man could never belong to her.

Then, they got busy. The two of them were making old-style wine, and they already had quite a lot.

”Xiao Yang, by the end of the year, we must taste this wine.”

”Sure, I don’t know how to drink, but Mr. Lv, you can try it yourself.”

”Haha, you’re just like I was back then. I couldn’t drink either. The headmaster told me if you can’t drink, how can you taste the wine? How do you know what your own brewed wine tastes like?”

”Well, then I’ll also learn to drink a little. This is our family wine. My grandfather used to brew it every year and keep it for himself to drink.”

Though they were chatting, their hands didn’t stop working. Lv Beiguang was very confident in this wine. It would definitely be a success, and its taste would certainly be liked by most people.

At noon, he didn’t have Guodong bring lunch; instead, he went home. His son was already busy enough, taking care of his daughter-in-law.

Li Xue was much better now. Guodong had wiped her down, which made her feel much more comfortable.

This baby was quite well-behaved, neither crying nor fussing. He drank as soon as he was fed water.

Li Xue had drunk quite a bit of soup and felt full, but the baby couldn’t suck it out.

Qu Xiaoli came over and had Guodong do it, making the couple blush furiously.

Once the child was finally able to feed, everyone was relieved.

Jiang Xinyu and Zhao Xiaoli suggested having Zhang Qiu’e come over to help, but Guodong refused. They lived so close; if they needed anything, a shout would be enough. Besides, Zhao Xiaoli’s place also needed someone.

Today, Feifei brought the three little ones over to see the baby. This was their youngest relative. Shi Xian, Tingting, and Ah Bao were extremely excited, chattering around the baby.

”Sister-in-law, when will the little nephew call me uncle?” Shi Xian asked very solemnly and very seriously.

”By next year’s New Year, he should be able to. Shi Xian, you are now an uncle.”

Shi Xian nodded, ”Yes, I’m an uncle now.”
