Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

”Run into each other?”

”Yeah, I feel really moved. For the people you introduced to me, I never had this kind of feeling.

Grandma. I found out I like him.”

”No way. He’s too old. More than ten years older. Fourteen years older than you. How can that be? Just settle down and do the matchmaking for me,

Xiao Ling. You’re still young, you don’t understand now. It might not be obvious now, but wait until twenty years later. You’re at the prime of your life, but the man will already be an old man. You’ll be very exhausted then.”

”Grandma, I know, but I’m willing.”

”You’re still young. What do you know about being willing? When the time comes, it’s like taking care of an elder.”

Wang Yanling remained silent. Since grandma disagreed, she’d talk to Qian Jun herself. If he wasn’t interested in her either, she would comply with grandma’s wishes and find someone who seemed nice to marry.

The elder noticed her granddaughter was silent and thought she was absorbing what was said. The child worked the night shift, she must be tired. She didn’t even let Wang do the dishes, just told her to sleep.

”Grandma, shall we make dumplings for lunch? I’m craving the taste of those garlic-filled cabbage ones.”

”Sure, sleep. I’ll wake you for lunch.”

The elder went out to find the grandpa. No, she needed to hurry up and find a match for the granddaughter. She’s already a twenty-two-year-old young woman, it’s long past time to find a husband.

Wang Yanling saw grandma leave. She didn’t go to sleep either, she got up and went to the textile factory.

She’s a worker, and the gate guards are familiar with her face, so they let her in.

Wang Yanling had been preparing herself psychologically, indeed it was difficult for a grown girl to confess her feelings to a man. But since the family disagreed, she could only try herself.

Even if Qian Jun found her unappealing, he probably wouldn’t speak about it. Either way, it would be as if it never happened.

She nervously arrived at the door of Qian Jun’s office, took a few deep breaths outside, and then knocked on the door.

Fang Xiangxue was looking at a report. Hearing the knock, ”Come in.”

Wang Yanling entered, face flushed, looking at Secretary Fang, ”I have something to discuss with Mr. Qian.”

Fang Xiangxue looked at this girl, he had some impression of her, she’s known as the workshop’s beauty, reportedly many young men liked her.

”What do you want to discuss with Mr. Qian?”

Wang Yanling lowered her head, not speaking.

Fang Xiangxue didn’t take it to heart, it was just a casual question.

”Wait here, I’ll check if Mr. Qian has time.”

Qian Jun had finished reviewing last month’s accounts. ”What’s going on?”

”Mr. Qian, a female worker from our workshop came to see you.”

Qian Jun felt his eyes tired, so he nodded in agreement.

Wang Yanling nervously followed Secretary Fang.

After entering Qian Jun’s office, Fang Xiangxue left.

”Comrade, what brings you to me?” Qian Jun looked at the female worker standing, head lowered, face flushed, without speaking.

Wang Yanling raised her head. Watching Qian Jun sitting there, indeed the more she looked, the more charming he seemed. She could only hear her own heartbeat now.

Qian Jun curiously observed this blushing female worker. He’d encountered these kinds of looks many times, but they were often quite reserved. This was the first time a girl attracted to him came to his office.

Wang Yanling noticed Qian Jun frowning looking at her. She knew this was her chance, whether it succeeded or not, she had to seize it. If it didn’t work, she’d give up.

”Qian Jun, I like you. I want to be a family with you.” Wang Yanling regretted right after speaking. How could she say it like that? She’d planned to speak more tactfully along the way. But why was she so direct just now?

Qian Jun was stunned. This was the first time any girl stood in front of him and spoke so bluntly. He didn’t know how to respond.

Wang Yanling saw Qian Jun didn’t immediately reject or oppose her. She wondered if she still had a chance?

”Qian Jun, I like you. I know you’re the director, I’m just a worker, but I absolutely don’t mean to focus on your status.”

Qian Jun watched this blushing and incoherent girl with interest.

She looked very young, suddenly remembering she was the one who clumsily bumped into him yesterday.

”You’re too young.”

Wang Yanling hearing no outright rejection meant there was hope.

”Qian Jun, I’m already twenty-two. Both my grandparents work at the textile factory, my aunt is there too.”

”Do you know how old I am?”

Wang Yanling shook her head.

”I’m already thirty-six. I’ll dismiss this as a child’s prank. Let’s keep this between us.”

”Qian Jun, I don’t mind your age. I grew up without parents, raised by my grandma.

I’m already twenty-two, my family is anxious. They’ve introduced me to many people, but none made me feel like when I bumped into you yesterday, so I know I like you.”

Qian Jun chuckled inwardly, did this girl develop feelings from a collision? But indeed, there’s quite a gap in their ages.

Wang Yanling saw Qian Jun saying nothing, she hurriedly continued.

”Both my grandma and aunt say you’re older, but as long as I like you, that’s enough. I like you.”

”Your family disagrees, then this won’t work.”

Is there a chance? ”Qian Jun, I know you might care about my family’s opinion. I’m raised by my grandparents; my marriage must gain their approval.

I’ll go back and talk to them. Actually, I just wanted to ask you first. If you truly don’t like me, then I won’t bother convincing my grandparents.”

Qian Jun looked at her smile, two dimples showing on her lovely face.

As a man, especially an older man, being pursued by a young and pretty girl certainly brings a sense of accomplishment.

Moreover, after going through Gao Ruyun and Gu Xiaoyu, he found himself fond of this naive girl who suddenly came to him. Simply put, men like young and pretty girls.

”Qian Jun, you haven’t rejected me, right?”

Looking at the young girl filled with expectation staring at him, ”What do you see in me?”

”How would I know? You bumped into me when we collided yesterday.” Wang Yanling decided to speak truthfully, as she didn’t know either.

”I bumped into you?” Qian Jun recalled the crash yesterday, he might have bumped into the girl’s chest with his arm.

He suddenly laughed, she was the one. ”Let’s go, I’ll go home with you to explain.”

Wang Yanling confusedly stared at Qian Jun, what did she say?

”You wanted to convince your grandparents, right? I’ll go with you.”

”You agreed?”

Qian Jun smiled and nodded, being pursued by a pretty girl is indeed a delightful thing.
