Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

After the meal, Wei Kaiyun bade farewell, taking the three children with him, and told Li Yungui to just come directly to the house to find him.

In the study, it was just the Li Family Brothers.

”Approved?”

”Yeah.”

”That’s the advantage you handed over, in the future if you need anything, coming here won’t be difficult.”

Li Yungui understood too.

”Can the pig farm be handled well?”

”Xiao Jiang mentioned it lightly, there won’t be a problem.”

”That’s good, it’s beneficial for everyone.”

Wei Kaiyun first bought two packs of cigarettes with the three kids, then went to the recycling station.

He handed a cigarette to the person in charge, not smoking himself, while the three kids went in on their own.

”You seem to really care for the kids, Comrade.”

”The kids like colorful books, we have quite a few comic books at home already. I’m just bringing them here to browse, saves us some money.”

Jiang Feifei separated from her two brothers, picking up items she liked. Anyway, even if it’s from the end of the dynasty, it can still be collected.

The two boys have already learned a lot from Shang Zhenkun.

They brought out some small old furniture pieces, and some books and artworks.

Feifei kept an eye outside. Upon hearing a noise, she also picked up some textbooks, figuring if she doesn’t use them, they can still be donated to the school, right?

In the end, Wei Kaiyun paid three bucks and gave them the pack of cigarettes too.

Seeing his daughter’s happy face, Wei Kaiyun was pleased, as long as his daughter was happy, he was content.

At the doorstep, they saw Li Yungui sitting outside.

When the five arrived home, Jiang Xinyu saw her daughter’s expression and knew she must have gotten something good, but she didn’t ask.

Li Yungui brought home what he had bought. The wedding gift for his eldest son’s marriage was already prepared, if there’s no time for the tractor, he would drive over himself.

Wei Kaiyun teased Shi Xian with pastries, and in the end, the little guy ate rice candy and forgave them for not taking him along.

Li Yungui sent stuff back and saw that many stones were already unloaded opposite, meaning they could dig the foundation.

He directly rode his bike to find Liu the mason.

The two discussed and planned to start digging the foundation the day after tomorrow. The blue bricks could be delivered, only needing extra for the transport cost.

The beams, flower racks, and windows were prepared, so Li Yungui was ready to move into the new house.

Returning home, he found more stones unloaded to the south, feeling more pleased. The foundation here was assigned to another mason, so his own house and the pig farm could rise together.

Building houses in this weather is just right, mainly when it turns cold, everything would be dry, making the house sturdy to live in.

After dinner, Li Cunshan came over. ”Is the pig farm’s foundation dug by us or paid for?”

”Old Zhao told me, ten loads of stones can be delivered tomorrow, I think we can start the day after, assigning a few people to dig together to speed up.

Tomorrow, I’ll take Fourth Uncle and Fifth Uncle to the market, it’s time to buy piglets.”

”My wife’s nephew’s family has ten piglets, I’ve reserved them, and they said the village has another twenty, I’ve ordered them all, tomorrow Fourth Uncle can check them out, if it’s good, we’ll buy them all.”

”Alright, we’ll prepare fifty pigs.”

”Of course, we should ask Teacher Jiang’s opinion.”

Li Yungui slapped his thigh, ”Brother Cunshan, let’s go to Xiao Wei’s house.”

The Wei Family was eating watermelon, and seeing the two approaching, quickly offered another large watermelon.

Jiang Xinyu listened to their conversation, ”I don’t understand this, but I do know everything starts with good seeds.”

”Yeah, tomorrow let’s have the two elders accompany them to check it out.”

”Actually, we could inquire where there are newly bred pigs, they might grow faster.”

”But where to inquire?”

Jiang Xinyu didn’t know about this, she really had no understanding of it.

In the end, they decided to settle locally first, and inquire later.

Jiang Xinyu handed the blueprint to Li Yungui. ”We’ll need a lot of cement.”

”Alright, I’ll order tomorrow.” Li Yungui wasn’t reluctant to spend money now, since the chicken farm was profiting daily, visibly making money, this investment was definitely worthwhile.

The village became busy again, hearing about the pig farm being built, everyone agreed since the chicken farm was already established, this future money would be for everyone, who wouldn’t agree?

Strong laborers working at the factory found Li Yungui, saying they could work a few hours after their evening shifts.

Li Yungui nodded, he actually considered this but hadn’t mentioned it, since they had day jobs, asking them to help was unreasonable, but volunteering was different.

The educated youths also heard about it. With a smile on his face, Tao Chunhe remarked while eating, ”Village Chief Li sure is efficient, quite exceptional.”

The youths at the educated youth point discussed this too, but it’s irrelevant to them. Even if there’s good news, it won’t involve them.

Yan Shuping silently ate, she couldn’t stand seeing others happy now.

Contemplating secretly writing a report letter, seeing others joyful while she suffers is unbearable.

However, writing a letter requires sending it out, she didn’t have the opportunity to go out now.

All the educated youths were assigned to the threshing ground to shake corn. Though their hands didn’t hurt, after a day their arms and waist ached.

Moreover, the Captain allocated duties pairing a local with an educated youth, making laziness impossible, with someone always watching.

Soon she could go to the county, where she’d deliver her report letter to the Revolutionary Committee.

You want to build a pig farm, how can that be?

Hou Wenhui turned and noticed Yan Shuping’s sinister smile, frowning slightly, Yan Shuping had been like this lately, looking terrifying.

Decided if she has something, to avoid her, better not upset her, she seemed a bit off.

Every family talked about the pig farm, even the elders agreed with no objection. The village chief said it would be fed similarly to the chicken farm, allowing for two batches a year.

People in their seventies knew raising pigs to 200 pounds in a year was a solid fat pig, having two batches a year, imagine the profit?

They trusted it, as the chicken farm results spoke for themselves, with the city’s supply agency recently taking a hundred large roosters.

If you kept them yourself, those roosters would take a year to raise, but at the chicken farm, they grew to over three pounds in three months, reaching six or seven pounds in half a year, truly becoming large roosters.

Hoping the pig farm soon completed, then they could also use pig feed, imagine if their pigs could have two batches in a year?

Jiang Xinyu was busy supervising the chicken farm’s plastic sheet window installations.

With temperatures already quite low, they couldn’t let the chickens stop laying eggs.
