Starting Out As The God of Beasts

Seconds turned to Minutes.

Minutes turned to Hours.

Hours turned to Days.

War has come to Tempest City.

***

The moment the front lines of the Norona army crossed the threshold into the Tempest Forest, the sky vanished beneath a suffocating canopy of dense, dark leaves.

The transition from the open desert to the claustrophobic woods immediately broke the marching rhythm of the five thousand invaders.

”They were right, Tempest truly has changed” General Tagar frowned.

”Prepare to destroy everything in your path!” the voice of the Martial General thundered across the sky.

General Tagar’s towering, twenty-four-legged arachnid Beast-stage F-class Abomination crushed ancient roots underfoot, but the heavy Orcs and lumbering Ogres behind him had to slow their pace, their heavy iron boots sinking into the thick mud.

Then, the forest itself seemed to open up.

CRACK.

Without warning, the solid earth collapsed beneath the vanguard.

Hidden beneath layers of woven branches and loose soil were massive pit dugouts stretching across the main valley passes.

”Argggghhhhhhh....”

”WHAT IS HAPPENING...”

”Keeeuuukkkk please save me...!!”

Dozens of Orcs and heavy Ogres fell screaming into the darkness, their massive weights accelerating their descent.

At the bottom of the pits waited thousands of jagged, gleaming spikes forged from raw Varanium metal—a substance so dense and sharp it bypassed the thickest iron breastplates like soft cloth.

The wet, sickening sound of flesh being impaled echoed through the trenches as the front lines were instantly pinned to the earth.

Before the trailing captains could halt the columns, a piercing horn echoed from the deeper thickets.

From the dense shadows of the undergrowth, hundreds of captured and starved wild beasts were suddenly unleashed.

Massive, iron-scaled boars, shadow-wolves, and feral forest drakes tore into the flanks of the disorganized horde.

Beast-stage F-class Abominations.

All captured by Tempest City and released into the Tempest Forest.

The abominations scattered the armies, lunging at the throats of the disoriented Orcs and devouring the panicking Goblins whole.

The forest became a chaotic screaming match of tearing flesh, snapping jaws, and splashing black blood.

”Maintain the formation!” General Tagar roared from atop his monstrous arachnid, his massive voice shaking the leaves above.

He swung his double-headed frost axe, cleaving a leaping shadow-wolf completely in half.

”They are nothing but beastly abominations and hidden rats! March forward!”

”Trample them!”

Driven by the terrifying authority of a Martial General, the remnants of the army pushed through the blood-soaked mud, abandoning their dead in the pits and forcing their way into the central clearing of the woods.

But they were expected.

Waiting at the edge of the ancient treeline stood Commander Trojan and Captain Eurenia.

Behind them, the entire collective force of the Tempest military and the elite members of the Crusade stood in absolute, silent formation.

The time for traps was over.

”For the God of Beasts,” Trojan muttered, his deep voice cutting through the noise.

”For the God of Beasts!” the Crusade roared back.

The two armies collided with a deafening crash of steel on steel.

The battlefield instantly descended into a relentless, bloody melee.

Commander Trojan led the charge, wielding his divine relic Solar Cleaver—a massive, two-handed blade that erupted with a blinding, sun-like heat the moment it cleared its scabbard. Trojan moved like a localized sunburst through the western ranks.

With a single horizontal sweep, the Solar Cleaver sheared through three heavily armored Ogres at the waist, the intense heat cauterizing the wounds instantly and melting their iron shields to liquid slag.

Beside him, Captain Eurenia unleashed her own rampage.

There was no hesitation this time, no blind madness—only a terrifying, controlled execution.

Her crusade knight battle suit blurred through the ranks of Orcs, her twin daggers vibrating with explosive, compressed kinetic mana.

Every thrust of her blade punched clean through helmets and visors.

When a group of Troll captains tried to surround her, her core flared with her newly stabilized Middle-enlightened stage Martial Master power.

She spun on her heel, slamming her palms into the earth and releasing a kinetic shockwave that shattered the legs of every soldier within ten meters.

Her six crusade commanders moved right in her wake, functioning as a flawless shield, their weapons parrying heavy clubs and systematically executing the wounded.

They showed no mercy, the brothers Hedro and Argo wasted no time showing their Martial Warriors’ prowess.

Breaking through the enemies’ defenses, bodies piled up as they pushed forward.

Simultaneously, Commander Trojan’s personal vassals—hardened Martial Warriors and Masters—held the flanks, turning the valley into a meat grinder that systematically whittled the five thousand invaders down to a desperate remnant.

Manuel and Mano, the two sons of Lord Manuses who were also vassals under Commander Trojan cut through the enemies.

Manuel, the eldest leapt high mid air, bringing down his Varanium steel scythe, he sliced through six Orcs simultaneously.

Meanwhile Mano sprinted forward, swinging his bladed whip, he cut through dozens within seconds.

They were both Peak-enlightened stage Martial Warriors, fierce Sun-Tiger Men.

Seeing his armies being systematically decimated, General Tagar let out a furious roar.

”This bastards! We underestimated them!” his eyes glowed.

He forced his twenty-four-legged arachnid beast forward, the abomination’s sharp chitin legs impaling three Tempest soldiers as it broke through the central line.

Tagar leaped from the high saddle, his massive frame descending like a falling meteor.

The ground quaked.

His frost axe slammed into the earth, sending a massive wave of permafrost tearing through the ground, forcing the Tempest vassals backward.

He stood tall in the center of the carnage, his frost-white eyes locking onto the two leaders of the defense.

”Come you two....bring me your heads!” General Tagar declared.

The behemoth General stepped forward, ”The King sent me here because he believed in me”

”For angering the King. You shall pay with your miserable lives” General Tagar declared.

Commander Trojan tightened his grip on his burning Solar Cleaver, the heat radiating from his blade hissing violently against the approaching frost.

Eurenia stepped up seamlessly to his left side, her daggers raised, her breathing perfectly synchronized with his.

Two Martial Masters standing shoulder-to-shoulder, preparing to cross blades with a true Martial General.

The real battle for the north had just begun.
