Chapter 448: Chapter 448: The Involuntary Daisy Grant

Her hand was gentle and soft, and when it touched his fingertips, Dawn Sutherland felt a warmth ignite, his eyes filled with starlight.

”Daisy, let me wipe this for you, it won’t be good if it gets infected and inflamed.”

Dawn’s voice was warm and pleasant, causing Daisy Grant’s heartbeat to race uncontrollably. She looked up at the gentle and refined Dawn, and smiled softly, ”Thank you, Brother Dawn.”

Dawn smiled faintly, taking her hand and carefully applying alcohol to disinfect, his touch gentle, his gaze equally gentle.

Ariel Morris, lying on the sickbed, watched the two in front of her and turned her eyes to the window outside, unable to help but mutter to herself: Am I a third wheel? Why do I feel like a thousand-watt bulb right now?

”Daisy, when I’m discharged, shall we go out and have some fun? Go for a walk and see the scenery,” Ariel’s voice rang out again.

Daisy glanced at Dawn Sutherland in front of her, her eyes a little uncertain and hesitant, she spoke slowly, ”I haven’t wandered around City C for five years, I’m not familiar with many places either, where shall we go?”

Ariel also felt a bit troubled, ”No guide, really a bother.”

Daisy looked at Dawn, who was bowing his head carefully disinfecting for her, and gave a faint smile, a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, her voice light, ”I might not have time either, I’ve been back for a while, I should report to the company.”

Ariel pursed her lips, ”Family businesses like yours aren’t easy, a girl like you carrying it on your shoulders must be tiring, without any rest time.”

Daisy’s eyes dimmed, a slight bitter smile on her lips, ”Beyond my control, what can be done.”

Just like her marriage, beyond her control, without the power to say no. Political marriages are like this, as long as they bring benefits, both parents would be eager for the two to marry immediately for mutual benefits.

Daisy’s words, Dawn heard in his ears, recalling that tired and restrained look of hers on the stairwell, and somehow he lifted his head and blurted out, ”I have some free time in a few days, I have a three-day holiday,”

When Dawn spoke, Ariel and Daisy both looked at him. Especially Daisy, her eyes surprised.

Was Brother Dawn implying - that he would take her out to play? But didn’t he refuse twice? How come he suddenly agreed? Was it because of Ariel? Ariel said she wanted to go out, so Brother Dawn made time to accompany them, right?

Daisy’s heart felt a bit sour. Brother Dawn really regarded Ariel as his own sister, while she might have been demoted from childhood sweetheart to an ordinary friend in his heart, right? Just five years, childhood affection faded, and time is a whetstone, eroding the warm times of the past step by step.

”Alright, then let’s have Brother Dawn drive us, I’ll ask Arlo if he has time to join us,” Ariel said with a faint smile.

Dawn nodded, his eyes turning to Daisy, his voice gentle, ”Daisy, join us? I’ll pick you up, relax before you enter the company.”

Daisy paused for a moment, then smiled, ”Okay, thank you, Brother Dawn.”

Daisy sat by Ariel’s side, accompanying her in conversation, while Dawn picked up the unpeeled apple left by Daisy and continued peeling it, handing it to Ariel once finished.

Ariel took the apple, a light smile on her lips, ”The happiest thing in the world is having a brother, having someone you love accompany you.”

She lost her child, but she found her long-lost brother. She lost those fake relatives of the Morris Family, lost that home, but soon she and Arlo could start their own family. Marrying Arlo, she would be happy for a lifetime.

Ariel smiled faintly, realizing that God is still fair, taking away so much, but also giving back many surprises.
